Hey Dave. How's it going and I have a question. Do you know any good relatively affordable frags that have good "human body" smells. Not in a bad/gross way, but sort of evocative of pheromones? Is that even a category? I just ask because I smelled a fragrance on someone that was amazing and almost ... "sour and sweet".. like a human smell can be, but not in a bad/gross way. It was actually really pleasing. Maybe musky... but even that I'm not sure is the right category.
I love the smell of Grey Vetiver, but not quite what I'm talking about. I hate when you smell something on somebody in passing, but you can't or don't ask them what it is :)

I had on 3 sprays silver mountain water sitting outside some drunk guy says damn who smells so good from probably 12ft away maybe wind caught it idk but I didn’t want that much attention lol.
One thing that a lot of people don't talk about is Skin Type. Generally speaking, people with oily skins can get away with just 2-4 sprays since their fragrance sits on top of the natural oils their body is producing and can project for a long time. While someone with skin type like mine, which is more towards Dry but not flaky. If I spray 4-8 sprays, my colognes die within first 30 mins. after that it becomes a skin scent and I'm talking about very strong colognes like Bentley For Man Intese & Paco Rabanne 1 Million EDT. I can literally get away with 8-12 sprays and my cologne would only project for 1 hour before becoming a skin scent. Colognes on my skin do last a long time. they just don't project for as long. And its not my nose going noseblind to the fragrance, I've asked my family members whether they can smell me or not and usually they can't. Even if I'm standing like an arms length away. Something to think about!
Depends on the density of the fragrance and its longevity. And of course occasion, venue, etc. I like to project. But depending on the density of the fragrance, I could wear 3 sprays to 6 sprays. The fear of "over spraying" usually causes most men to UNDER spray and noone smells you. As you said, if it's a great fragrance, people will enjoy smelling it. Again, the density can be an issue and you can end up choking YOURSELF out! LOL!
this is a great timing for this video because it's May and where I live it's just starting to warm up and people are wearing more around now. I work in kind of a high strung city and a lot of business/sales guys in suits will be walking by me and I smell the man cloud. if it's a really big group of nervous men, the cloud will be very strong.
...We used to choke on my Grandmother's Giorgio Beverly Hills perfume when she lived with us while selling her house during the mid-80's. It smelled great after 15 minutes, but before then...BOOM!!! This was during the slumped housing market of 1985, so she ended up staying with us for an entire Summer, thinking her custom built tri-level would sell in a mere two weeks. She was oblivious, but then she used old-school spray Right Guard Deodorant, SafeGuard soap, & smoked Eve menthol or YSL menthol-filter 100's non-stop...all in the same bathroom-or anywhere else she wanted to smoke. Good thing we had 3 bathrooms & 4 bedrooms...LOL! One thing about it, she always smelled good & you couldn't "Smell Her On A Bet," as we used to say here down South. I have run into situations where one person complains about fragrance in the workplace and ruins it for all others with a complaint to management ! Some of these folks are the worse offenders, with their own lack of appropriate personal hygiene . . . go figure !!
I have found that 4-5 sprays of a good fragrance is a perfect minimum. I work in a very open environment and I also like to where very casual, fresh scents that are overall very pleasant and hard to offend with, so I go 7 sprays even.
Example... into work regular sprays... then first break.. I go outside then I come back into building and I can smell the outside smell on me.. skin.. that's when I put one spray on my hand the place on my arms and shirt

Man, all I know is that the people in my building seem to bathe in it. Like if you went down the hallway ten minutes ago and I can still smell it that's too much. Its definitely a taboo to tell someone they smell bad, especially if they are wearing too much, as they are probably self conscious about how they smell in the first place.
I just had a staff member in my office that was wearing way too much cologne. Made me sick. He was a preppy older gentleman and I just wanted to run out of my office. I wear cologne too but I get compliments on how I smell. Already had a staff member walk in shortly after and she said what is that smell....yuck! I apologized and said another staff member had just left a bit ago. I thin sprayed air-freshener and she was like that's much better! LOL
I find aftershave and perfume most of the time extremely offensive to my nose. If I can smell you without hugging you you're wearing too much (for me in the UK). So yeah by all means wear it because you love it but know that there are people like me who would rather leave the room than be anywhere near that overpowering pungent odor.
Most modern designer fragrance is watered down to the point of having to spray a ton of juice to get others to notice or it project at least in my opinion and with my skin chemistry...

the best tip is 3:02 most people do believe if they don't smell a scent anymore after 4 hours (!) on themselves, that it is a weak fragrance. omg NO! it is a normal thing to become nose blind after 4 hours of smelling the same thing. but when they enter a room, everybody smells them from a distance.
What's strange is that I already got the comment that my fragrance is very strong 2 times. With 2! sprays of First Instinct 4 hours after spraying,and also with Ch men privé 2! sprays 4h after spraying.. I don't know what's wrong with my skin😅
I enjoy my fragrances but I also try to be considerate of others at the same time. Like most things in life I think moderation comes in handy. I try to enjoy my fragrances but I also try to be respectful of those around me.
I wear 5 to 7 or more every day. My skin soaks them up like a sponge. I have never been told one way or the other if I am wearing too much. I never get compliments either. I wear office-friendly colognes.
This may be a dumb question,, but here it goes......... since any fragrance has a certain projection time regardless of the fragrance,, would it be true that even though you would choke someone out wearing too much, the projection time would still be the same right??
It was cool but sometimes it was too much when you are at the subway. And now each time i smell some fragrance like interlude, insence oud by Kilian or something Oud, I think of Dubai
I spray the amount that's comfortable for me. If the person next to me can't handle it that's a indication they shouldn't stand so close to me in the first place 😏

Good advice . . . I always test my fragrances at home to determine what temperature, season or occasion that my fragrances are best suited for. I am aware that close encounter vs outdoor situations are different . . . as well as age and gender. I try to be careful during a testing phase, as some fragrances can quickly make one anosmic ! idc i oay good money for my fragrance so i wanna have a haze around me like SS2 Goku with the electric striking i wanna be smelled from around the corner and i want to travel like a jet blue airplane i want people to walk in the room after me and know YES I WAS THERE I always buy the biggest bottle i can and apply around 40 sprays per day so i can achieve this effect but he's right I do this because of my culture as being raised by Caribbean parents
I love perfume so much that i even wear a fragrance to sleep. I try to consider the season, time and place before I spray a perfume on. I have never been told that Im wearing too much perfume but I have noticed that occasionally people quickly touch their nose with their fingers as I walk by. Have a great day! I love you channel.
This video doesn’t age....I work with the military...It’s always been taboo to wear fragrance in uniform (unless you’re female). So now that I’m a retired contractor, I’ve gotten several negative reactions after I’ve passed by or left a room...and yet I only spray 2 times as a habit...so yeah, in some sub-cultures/work environments, any fragrance to some is too much. Oh well.
Compared to Canada where I'm from (usually 2-3 sprays on average) and the Middle East where I live (6+), I easily wear twice the amount of sprays in the Middle East. And I still feel like I could wear more One thing to keep in mind, when I wear something like 1861 or Nio here in the middle east (my go too's since it's hot as hell here this time of year), or even Coney Island when it's March/April, it doesn't seem to last as long as back in Canada. Even though I use more sprays here. Those times in winter or while the weather is heating up in March or April nights, I do go back to my Canadian favorites (Aventus, Silver Mountain Water, even Black Afghan / Amouage / Tom Ford for some cold nights; cold like 18 C in January) I go back to the usual 1-2 sprays for though.
For example . I love the heck out of Opium , not a crowd-pleaser but makes me feel mysterious (anyone’s attracted to it ) and exotic. While Kouros is for that seductive alpha male waiting to make his play and win the game .
Summary: Cultural differences and environment/climate will affect how much you should wear. If you're wearing a low quality fragrance, especially old, cheap, or body spray (Axe), don't go too loud; as in, carry a light amount, and don't become a walking Axe billboard. It's obnoxious. If you're wearing something with quality, that's genuinely very enjoyable, then dare and try out putting on a good amount, and if it feels like a lot, just ask, and adjust. And so long as you're not offending anyone or being obnoxious with too much, wear how much is comfortable for you.
One thing i hear from people often is the rule to only do three sprays at most i disagree with this so called rule.because some fragrances are very light can get away with 4 to 6 sprays others 3 to 4 at most. So a person that is the too much cologne guy would do 5 or more sprays for every fragrance he wears for him he's not worried about offending anyone or he doesn't know wearing 5 sprays for every fragrance might be considered rude.
Be kind to others, and go light on perfumes and colognes. Too much can send people with allergies and sensitive noses into migraines and sinus shut down. It's unhealthy.
My advice is NEVER wear a cheap fragrance and everything is going to be ok. For example if you over sprey...Fucking Fabulose by Tom Ford nobody is going to tell you that you overspreyed. Just save some money and buy some cool fragrance.

Very interesting video and I learned a few things from the cultural aspect. I myself have become a bit of an oversprayer especially when it comes to the freshies.
I have that same issue...drier skin. If you use unscented Lubriderm lotion...even if you just rub into areas where you apply lotion if you don't use it all over, your scent will last somewhat longer, & the lotion won't change the scent of your fragrance. Keep in mind that fragrances-particularly for men are much weaker than they were years ago...believe me I'm in my mid-40's so I know what I'm talking about.
Where I'm from (more a blue collar City), I easily get just as many negatives remarks as I do positive. Just today, I got 2 negative reactions in a row from 3 sprays of Dior Homme and I work outside in a Booth :/
There is a coworker who literally bathe himself in Patchouli and Frankensence and myrrh. In a closed setting and a lot of cats and dogs so je smells like animals and strong oils , omg I literally have to wear a mask us makes me GAGG, and I believe he doesn't know he wreaks of gas station cheap oil. You can tell it's cheap and the silliage of it lingers in our clothes. I am thinking of going to Hr. About the matter cause it makes everyone's head hurt when he comes in btw we are in an office setting. And he has been warned of this by an atty .

Dude, DON'T. I had a coworker who wore cologne so strong that I had to go home from work due to migraines just because he walked into the room. At that point, cologne guy is having a detrimental effect on my ability to earn a living.
Cologne is so very weak & watered down these days, that it's almost inevitable that you must overspray at first in order for it to last. This is because of an abundance by manufacturers of cheaper-synthetic ingredients. Like most other products, you get less for more-hence the EDP upgrade that most high end fragrances now offer for men that used to be standard sillage & longetivity for most Eau de Cologne-even the cheap stuff like Coty Musk or Hero bought at the drug store. I'm in my mid-40s & ancient compared to most subscribers. I can remember when ALL fragrances were extremely potent, & two sprays would last nearly if not all day. A bottle of cologne could last nearly a year. Now, expensive colognes are watered down with limited sillage. The "change" in formulations of "old-school" fragrances like Drakkar, Fahrenheit, Polo (original) is due to the aforementioned reasons as are changes in relatively new fragrances like La Nuit de L'Homme by YSL. They smell "almost" the same, but someone as old as me knows the difference. Women's fragrances have also undergone these "changes" even more so. The Clinique Aromatics Elixer perfume she wears has been "reformulated" & is less sweet than it used to be-without being cheaper despite using cheaper ingredients.

Yes!! Exactly, I'm really worried about that, because I had 4 that went bad because I didn't pay attention to the little heat of the notebook that was near them and bim, 4 perfumes dead :'( Now I kept them in a drawer. And because now I have quite a lot, I'm asking myself if opening all or space the opening in time. Like 1 or 2 this summer, 1 or 2 in winter, and the other the next year.
Do I wear too much cologne? In general...hell yes, but never in public unless I am out clubbing, dancing, outdoors or similar environments where it acceptable and/or encouraged. Also, as much as I love fragrance, I suggest that cologne guys and perfume gals be drawn and quartered for wearing fragrance to the gym. I agree about not over-spraying (for the benefit of yourself as well as others) but you can fuck off with not wearing fragrances to the gym. Just like anywhere else, if my fragrance annoys you then that's your problem. I'm aware heated skin will increase projection and I don't rock anything heavy/non-fresh (again for my own benefit as well as others') but if you still have a problem - I'd be happy to tell you where to go.

As a gym-goer for almost 30 years now, and just this past week experiencing a guy wearing a fragrance there, I am *definitely* whole-heartedly FOR wearing frags to the gym. This coming from a guy who absolutely *detests* freshys on the whole, which are mainly what are worn to the gym. A guy came within three feet of me this past week on a warmer day, and I welcomed the smell of a cheap and crappy common freshy over his effin body stank. You must be one of those guys at the gym that reeks of arm pit onion and floods those around you with sweaty B.O. during your military press. *THAT* is offensive, and again, this coming from a guy who thinks ALL of those department store aquatic/calone-loaded cold and synthetic freshys smell exactly like dried vodka vomit with their screechy nostril-stinging, headache-inducing nausea they produce. Just to make it clear how much I hate 95% of freshys. And would *still* prefer that over your effin body odor. A gym is one of *the* best places to prudently and tastefully apply fragrance. Drawn and quartered? Just behead me so I don't have to smell your damn stank.

I keep it simple indoors 2 to 3 sprays Outdoors 3 to 4 sprays

Nah I don't, even with excess sprays, my skin soaks this shit up, even the most potent, projecting scents are skin scents on me in few hours

You probably have oilier skin, or more body hair. That usually makes fragrances cling longer. I wish I had that problem.
I enjoy my fragrances but I also try to be considerate of others at the same time. Like most things in life I think moderation comes in handy. I try to enjoy my fragrances but I also try to be respectful of those around me.
I wear 5 to 7 or more every day. My skin soaks them up like a sponge. I have never been told one way or the other if I am wearing too much. I never get compliments either. I wear office-friendly colognes.
I usually put one spray, but maybe thinking of switching to two
This may be a dumb question,, but here it goes......... since any fragrance has a certain projection time regardless of the fragrance,, would it be true that even though you would choke someone out wearing too much, the projection time would still be the same right??

I went to Dubai recently, and when it comes to fragrance it seems people there took shower fragrance. And incense is omnipresent.

It was cool but sometimes it was too much when you are at the subway. And now each time i smell some fragrance like interlude, insence oud by Kilian or something Oud, I think of Dubai
I spray the amount that's comfortable for me. If the person next to me can't handle it that's a indication they shouldn't stand so close to me in the first place 😏

I always test my fragrances at home to determine what temperature, season or occasion that my fragrances are best suited for.
I am aware that close encounter vs outdoor situations are different . . . as well as age and gender. I try to be careful during a testing phase, as some fragrances can quickly make one anosmic !
I would rather sport a little less fragrance than be remembered as that well dressed guy that doesn't know how to wear cologne !!

idc i oay good money for my fragrance so i wanna have a haze around me like SS2 Goku with the electric striking i wanna be smelled from around the corner and i want to travel like a jet blue airplane i want people to walk in the room after me and know YES I WAS THERE I always buy the biggest bottle i can and apply around 40 sprays per day so i can achieve this effect but he's right I do this because of my culture as being raised by Caribbean parents

I love perfume so much that i even wear a fragrance to sleep. I try to consider the season, time and place before I spray a perfume on. I have never been told that Im wearing too much perfume but I have noticed that occasionally people quickly touch their nose with their fingers as I walk by. Have a great day! I love you channel.

This video doesn’t age....I work with the military...It’s always been taboo to wear fragrance in uniform (unless you’re female). So now that I’m a retired contractor, I’ve gotten several negative reactions after I’ve passed by or left a room...and yet I only spray 2 times as a habit...so yeah, in some sub-cultures/work environments, any fragrance to some is too much. Oh well.
Compared to Canada where I'm from (usually 2-3 sprays on average) and the Middle East where I live (6+), I easily wear twice the amount of sprays in the Middle East. And I still feel like I could wear more
One thing to keep in mind, when I wear something like 1861 or Nio here in the middle east (my go too's since it's hot as hell here this time of year), or even Coney Island when it's March/April, it doesn't seem to last as long as back in Canada. Even though I use more sprays here.
Those times in winter or while the weather is heating up in March or April nights, I do go back to my Canadian favorites (Aventus, Silver Mountain Water, even Black Afghan / Amouage / Tom Ford for some cold nights; cold like 18 C in January) I go back to the usual 1-2 sprays for though.

For example . I love the heck out of Opium , not a crowd-pleaser but makes me feel mysterious (anyone’s attracted to it ) and exotic. While Kouros is for that seductive alpha male waiting to make his play and win the game .
During the pandemic I spray around 8 times. So the people can smell me through the face mask.
Summary:
Cultural differences and environment/climate will affect how much you should wear.
If you're wearing a low quality fragrance, especially old, cheap, or body spray (Axe), don't go too loud; as in, carry a light amount, and don't become a walking Axe billboard.
It's obnoxious.
If you're wearing something with quality, that's genuinely very enjoyable, then dare and try out putting on a good amount, and if it feels like a lot, just ask, and adjust.
And so long as you're not offending anyone or being obnoxious with too much, wear how much is comfortable for you.
One thing i hear from people often is the rule to only do three sprays at most i disagree with this so called rule.because some fragrances are very light can get away with 4 to 6 sprays others 3 to 4 at most. So a person that is the too much cologne guy would do 5 or more sprays for every fragrance he wears for him he's not worried about offending anyone or he doesn't know wearing 5 sprays for every fragrance might be considered rude.
Be kind to others, and go light on perfumes and colognes. Too much can send people with allergies and sensitive noses into migraines and sinus shut down. It's unhealthy.

My advice is NEVER wear a cheap fragrance and everything is going to be ok. For example if you over sprey...Fucking Fabulose by Tom Ford nobody is going to tell you that you overspreyed. Just save some money and buy some cool fragrance.

5-7 depending on what I’m spraying , for my skin chemistry seams to work.. no matter what I wear is loud for an hour and than becomes a skin sent....

I have that same issue...drier skin. If you use unscented Lubriderm lotion...even if you just rub into areas where you apply lotion if you don't use it all over, your scent will last somewhat longer, & the lotion won't change the scent of your fragrance. Keep in mind that fragrances-particularly for men are much weaker than they were years ago...believe me I'm in my mid-40's so I know what I'm talking about.
Where I'm from (more a blue collar City), I easily get just as many negatives remarks as I do positive. Just today, I got 2 negative reactions in a row from 3 sprays of Dior Homme and I work outside in a Booth :/

There is a coworker who literally bathe himself in Patchouli and Frankensence and myrrh. In a closed setting and a lot of cats and dogs so je smells like animals and strong oils , omg I literally have to wear a mask us makes me GAGG, and I believe he doesn't know he wreaks of gas station cheap oil. You can tell it's cheap and the silliage of it lingers in our clothes. I am thinking of going to Hr. About the matter cause it makes everyone's head hurt when he comes in btw we are in an office setting. And he has been warned of this by an atty .

Cologne is so very weak & watered down these days, that it's almost inevitable that you must overspray at first in order for it to last. This is because of an abundance by manufacturers of cheaper-synthetic ingredients. Like most other products, you get less for more-hence the EDP upgrade that most high end fragrances now offer for men that used to be standard sillage & longetivity for most Eau de Cologne-even the cheap stuff like Coty Musk or Hero bought at the drug store. I'm in my mid-40s & ancient compared to most subscribers. I can remember when ALL fragrances were extremely potent, & two sprays would last nearly if not all day. A bottle of cologne could last nearly a year. Now, expensive colognes are watered down with limited sillage. The "change" in formulations of "old-school" fragrances like Drakkar, Fahrenheit, Polo (original) is due to the aforementioned reasons as are changes in relatively new fragrances like La Nuit de L'Homme by YSL. They smell "almost" the same, but someone as old as me knows the difference. Women's fragrances have also undergone these "changes" even more so. The Clinique Aromatics Elixer perfume she wears has been "reformulated" & is less sweet than it used to be-without being cheaper despite using cheaper ingredients.

Yes!! Exactly, I'm really worried about that, because I had 4 that went bad because I didn't pay attention to the little heat of the notebook that was near them and bim, 4 perfumes dead :'(
Now I kept them in a drawer.
And because now I have quite a lot, I'm asking myself if opening all or space the opening in time. Like 1 or 2 this summer, 1 or 2 in winter, and the other the next year.

Do I wear too much cologne? In general...hell yes, but never in public unless I am out clubbing, dancing, outdoors or similar environments where it acceptable and/or encouraged. Also, as much as I love fragrance, I suggest that cologne guys and perfume gals be drawn and quartered for wearing fragrance to the gym. It is not only disrespectful towards others, but it is an assault on their senses. Shame on these selfish, self-centered, truly horrible people. If my post upsets you...then unscrew yourselves. Life isn't just about you and your selfish need to stink-out a gym and irritate others. Make me cry with your obnoxious fragrance leaping off your heated skin, and I'll make you cry when I dot your eye for your fragrance sin. LOL!

I agree about not over-spraying (for the benefit of yourself as well as others) but you can fuck off with not wearing fragrances to the gym. Just like anywhere else, if my fragrance annoys you then that's your problem. I'm aware heated skin will increase projection and I don't rock anything heavy/non-fresh (again for my own benefit as well as others') but if you still have a problem - I'd be happy to tell you where to go.

As a gym-goer for almost 30 years now, and just this past week experiencing a guy wearing a fragrance there, I am *definitely* whole-heartedly FOR wearing frags to the gym. This coming from a guy who absolutely *detests* freshys on the whole, which are mainly what are worn to the gym.
A guy came within three feet of me this past week on a warmer day, and I welcomed the smell of a cheap and crappy common freshy over his effin body stank. You must be one of those guys at the gym that reeks of arm pit onion and floods those around you with sweaty B.O. during your military press. *THAT* is offensive, and again, this coming from a guy who thinks ALL of those department store aquatic/calone-loaded cold and synthetic freshys smell exactly like dried vodka vomit with their screechy nostril-stinging, headache-inducing nausea they produce.
Just to make it clear how much I hate 95% of freshys.
And would *still* prefer that over your effin body odor. A gym is one of *the* best places to prudently and tastefully apply fragrance.
