"NEVER SADDLE A DEAD HORSE!" The cable clamps on the top and bottom of your guy wires are installed backwards! The cast part (the saddle) is always placed against the live side of the loop. Otherwise a great install! Good luck!!
very nice video, easy to follow. If this is 16.5 ft tall how come it does not fit all 100 pixels. I thought this height was designed for 100 pixels or 200 inches.
Use a different base, Mattos had several options for the base on his site. Buried version might work best for slope. Or portable hole and cement the base at the angle you need.
Hello again, just another question. Upgrading my Mattos Sasquatch mega tree. You think 48 sliding topper with 3ea. 66inch pole and with 8ft. hoops will hold exactly 100 pixel for ea strand ? jsut want to get an idea .I think you mention that on your video. ( 2inch pixel spacing )Thx again'
I think so, as the 6’ base is just a little small for 100 pixels. The 8’ hoop will force the strips out further and should be fine. I actually just ordered the 18” add on extension to make mine taller, so that the 6’ hoop will work with 100’ next year. Good luck!
The steel frame is completely bolted together. The topper when winched up, is only held up by the winch, this allows you to raise and lower the topper easily on demand. I had some major wind storms come through one year and I was able to safely lower everything and reduce the risk of damaging the structure.
Hello, that tree is awesome and good presentation, thx. Just a question . How did you attached the 36 boscoyo chroma star on top ? Did you use a pvc pipe ?
I want to use this design as I am new into lighting and exploring the type of tree that I would like to build. Some questions and complaints... 1) The camera shakes too much to focus on the topic of your narration. Also, the bungie balls.. you didn't get close enough to see how you attached/used them. The explanations were too fast, too short, without a demo to see exactly how to do that step. The strips were talked about" make sure to hook these up so link them together" however, you never focused on the end well enough to see how to start the string deployment. Where does the power come in form the controller? On the base, or does it start at the top of the tree? How did you patch in the star? Answers to these questions would make this video perfect! Thank for the parts that were done correctly and with great examples and explanations. The website to buy the kit is sold out of many parts.. are these tree kits still for sale..?
You have to buy these parts many months in advance - this is a project to start in the off season, not during the peak of holiday light season. I bought my kit in January 2023 and it was delivered in several shipments from July-September 2023. That’s the kind of timeline to expect.
@@sid65811wow.. okay.. thanks for the heads up on this!! Because I live on a corner lot, Is it possible to configure the tree for a 270 degree viewable area..? The calculations for strings, power, controller capacity.. it would be great to have a video on this topic using this product!
@@DaleCunningham_DBA yes you can absolutely do as many strings as you like in configurations up to 360 degrees. Xlights has all of that in the model definition.

Thanks for the demonstration, looks good

I’m not sure, but he does now sell it with a 16” add on pole when you order one of the kits. That would make up the difference needed.
Would it work with regular incadecint led lights
Would it be easier to attach the star before the 24 pixel strips ?
It might, I had no issues with installing it after. Dealers choice on that one!
Can you do an assembly video for your garage door matrix?
Actually, Yes. I recoded a tour of it the other day before I put it away. Subscribe to the channel I’ll post it soon.
Thank you
What type of material do you use to attach the LEDs, would it be PVC?
My front yard is on a slope. How do I level the base ???

Where do you get the J shaped bolts to attach to the topper thanks
Don't use bolts anymore, I use these www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CP14NR8C
Does your Mega Tree kit deliver by UPS? Or motor freight?
Are you using 4" pixel spacing?
How do I see this tree in action at night? Did I miss the link?

Thx again really appreciate it.
Is there anything to lock it in place or just under tension from the winch the whole time?

It actually it’s a 1” square steel tube and has a bolt on one end that bolts to the topper. Nice and strong
@@heathjohnson3623 Thx. I think thats a lot stronger than pvc. I"ll do the same.
What size and where did you get the J hooks. THanks
I got them from Mattos, I don’t see them on his site. Send them a message to see if they still sell them. I do see they have the carabiners.
What was the cost for all this, total? Thanks.
The link is in the description
Good afternoon your link is broken for the lights. Can you confirm these are twinkly pro lights?
We are using WS2811 Bullet Pixels, I updated the link.
Maybe I missed it but what is the spacing on the pixels?
For what I showed here I did every other hole so it’s appropriately 2” spacing
thank you! looks awesome!
What price is only frame?
Prices are available at mattosdesigns.com
