The softcover installation on a Spitfire really looks cumbersome. Much easier on the TR6, IMHO... Thanks for sharing this video, Elin !

Hey, Elin! I believe I was the one asking about the construction, pieces and installation of the soft top. Your video answers all of my questions. Now I can see what I have lefts of my old soft tops. Bill Starck.

Now, THAT is getting your money's worth out of a rag top! Well done, Elin.

I really enjoyed watching you do the repair! I think after the top has been on a few times it will loosen up enough that you can install the rear first. The material stretches with time. The top is now much tighter than it was. Nice work. Thanks very much.

Thanks for the video. I thinking about to buy a Spitfire MK2 and was worried about how to put on the soft top. It does not look too difficult.

I was thinking your shrink/stretch tool would work on that

Not on a hardened bandsaw blade :)

When installing the roof the last part you do (pulling the front bar forward & stretch the roof material watch the video when you do it see how tight then loose the roof becomes) it will damage the material in time, that part should be in the forward position with the springs depressed and fastened down this allows room to fit the roof, then the sprung uprights are released to tension the material.

Have you ever considered a tonneau cover ?

No, that is something I'd never put on any of my cars. For some reason, I really dislike the view of a car with a tonneau cover. And I don't think it is a practical thing.

I watch and admire all your videos,,,but today when you opened up your trunk and there were 2 5 gallon gas bombs sitting there ,,,, I’m sorry but in today’s society especially in the GTA there are gas stations on every corner,,,those plastic cans are bombs just waiting for an accident,,,please take them out of your nice automobiles
