I loved this movie! It takes a cartoon character/beginnings and turns it on its edge and makes it real. Not some "Hollywood" fantasy of how this universe "should" be portrayed.

What did she go through? Other than making a movie where the producer was a bit of a dck. You don't know what a tough time is. Try getting whipped beaten by your own father regularly and have a pillow placed over your face and threatened by your mother to give you away if you 'didnt behave'. . I could go on and on. @@newsfeed2670 Saddest of all, Shelly didn’t protect herself, she admitted that because of her relationship with him outside of this production. Personally,I’m am no fan of Kubrick, he’s too dark for my taste.
RIP, Shelley. You were too gentle and sweet a soul for this messed up world. If there is anything after this, I hope you are happy and have found peace.
He's a complete jerk. I had a friend who worked in television who attended the Emmy's and sat next to him. She nodded in greeting and he proceeded to roll is eyes and turn away from her. A voice one seat in front of her said, "don't worry , he is an asshole to everyone" loudly so everyone could hear. That voice was Judge Judy's. I loved her from that day forward , and despised him. My friend is a sweetheart. Fuck "Dr" Phil.
In this time of look-alike faces, plastic surgery, cosmetic dentistry, I so appreciate a one of a kind, instantly recognizable, natural beauty like Shelley Duvall from the seventies. Loved Shelley in every movie I ever saw her in and every fairytale she presented on PBS. There will never be better casting than Robin as Pop-eye and Shelley as Olive Oyl. Not for everybody, but I watch that movie about once a year.
Yes they call them odd beauties which I do believe is a good compliment. Her beauty was different and made her stand out while still being pretty. Having cookie cutter beauties in movies isnt enjoyable you need different types and SHelley Duval was a stand out and talented.
Agree, I love seeing a women with unconventional beauty, even her crooked teeth were somehow beautiful, nowadays they would be made perfect by cosmetic surgery. Couldn't take my eyes off her.
Especially during the scene when she walks in to check on Jack while he’s working on his book. The way he starts to get angry then berates and cusses her out for interrupting his concentration. I completely felt her character’s humiliation and stunned reaction to his words. It was very hard to watch that scene.
@@DEP717 I don't think Nicholson partook in the abuse. He said he thought Kubrick went overboard. Sounds like Kubrick took an opportunity to take his sexual jealousy out on what he viewed as a pampered starlet, a' la Hitchcock and Tippi Hedrun. I don't see why she forgave him. It may have done perminent damage to her psyche. Could be a case of Stockholm syndrome. Don't think I'll finish watching The Shining, and maybe never again. Just makes me sad for Shelly, and pissed at Kubrick.
I loved Shelley Duvall. I loved her "Fairy Tale Theatre" and "Tall Tales and Legends". She seemed so sweet, gentle, and fragile. Another casualty of Hollywood Babylon. You're missed, Shelley❤❤❤❤❤
And this was exactly what Stanley Kubrick was trying to expose in the Industry! The movie was also about showing how Kubrick had filmed the moon landing in a Hollywood set. There are several scenes in the Shining with details also shown in the Apollo 11 mission.
Duvall's Wendy is the sweetest, most vulnerable, motherly character in cinema. her cracking Jack across the forehead w the bat defending her child is one of the most cathartic moments in any Kubrick film
I LOVED her in The Shining. She was absolutely perfect for that role, bringing such a unique intensity and depth to the character. Her performance was not just memorable, but truly unforgettable-she embodied the unsettling atmosphere of the film with remarkable skill.
Shelly Duvall is one of my all time favorite actresses. She is so original. Her performance in 3 Women is just wonderful. Her appearance is fabulous. I can hardly stop looking at her. God bless her sweet soul.
@@8elionadvancing884she played the character to the hilt! Although Kubrick wasn't very pleasant to her. Re filmed alot of scenes. Maybe he tried to get an uneasy feeling in her because of her husband's shortcomings/ moods!
She really was a gentle soul who would never and could never intentionally hurt someone or something. When she resurfaced later on.. I didn’t expect her to look like that either but she was still the same gentle soul and spirit people loved her for. At the end of it all ~ it’s who you are and how you have treated and continue to treat others. We should remember her with a soft heart and kind words. RIP Shelly. ❤
As soon as I saw her photo for this episode, I felt a real sense of sorrow, having heard her life story before. Shelley Duvall was such a kindhearted, lovely person, who ended up being mistreated and manipulated by selfish men like Kubrick and so-called "Dr." Phil. The abject cruelty of Kubrick during the filming of The Shining was mind-boggling. Thank goodness the Scot narrated this episode. Only the best for Ms. Duvall. May she rest in peace.
Glad you put this way. Some states in the US don't allow people with mental disabilities to enter into legal agreements that might be harmful (like appearing on a National TV show in a less than healthy state.) I'm glad Shelley is at peace now.)
RIP Shelley, you were an amazing actress. You should have been awarded for every film you were in, you always brought a character to life! Thank You ❤❤❤
Excellent narration, thanks. Bless her. She was a good woman, I know several folks who hung out with her in Texas later years. I hope at some point folks will be able to see beyond her mental issues to her wonderful & entertaining body of work. ❤
A young woman Sarah befriended her back in 2022 and has an Instagram of their relationship on Instagram,Twitter and TikTok. It’s Shelly Duvall Archive.

Thanks for making such an honoring video about her .... such a relief, it really warms my heart. Also upsetting that men like DrPhil and Kubrick, who have gotten so revered are so undeserving ,as it turns out. Dr. Phil exploited (or tried to exploit) Sinead O'connor in the same way. i love them both, such amazing women 💖
Dr. Phil really took advantage of Shelley Duvall during one of the most vulnerable times in her life, especially since it was aired during Sweeps Week. It felt more like exploitation than genuine help. His actions came across as opportunistic, and it’s unsettling to see someone treated that way on national TV.
Wtf is this "sweeps week" garbage yall keep spouting about?? Theres another one on here going on about this sweeps week im going to go question them as well
It's true. She's not forgotten, she was a one of a kind, a wonderful actress, a light. I never get enough of her in The Shining. You were a lovely person and impacted a lot of us Shelley. ❤❤❤❤
I was under the impression she was praised for role in the Shining. What's really bad is I had no idea she had passed. I sincerely hope the last half of her life was full of happiness. No one else could have done those roles we will always remember her by.
She was completely humiliated by Dr. Phil in her interview made her look like a crazy person. She is down to earth and normal to me.Dr. Phil is a bully. I can’t believe Oprah gave him his big break. Does not get the credit she deserves.
She was living in a car and talked about aliens..... Dr Phil did take advantage of her insanity.... but she WAS insane. And it wasn't kubrick that did it
You are absolutely correct: he IS a bully. And Phil humiliated himself and looked like a crazy person when he fed Trump answers instead of “interviewing “him. Did you see THAT one? omg
As a fan of Shelley Duvall I was so disgusted and angry Dr. Phil used such a sweet person to exploit her for his stupid show. It was so disrespectful to her career her peers and her fans and to Shelley! RIP Shelley you were a class act!!
I love this ❤ the narration and tone of this. it’s more serious and deep instead of just some girls reading a script with upbeat music, with no emotion put into it…. Godspeed, Shelly.
At least, it was a good lure to bring people in to a presentation about her life. Not to mention, the music is stellar; they should have noted the sources.
Jeez, I actually got a little misty at the end there, after he says "... the stuff of legend," and the violins come in (14:50). It's like you realize, wow, yeah, these performances (which my generation has grown up with, and which I've almost taken for granted) really *_are_* iconic! Even if some were over the top, there was always a good reason for playing it that way. And as a result, these scenes became so unique and unforgettable. May future generations indeed continue to discover her great, great work! Rest in peace, precious Shelley.
A sweet and gentle soul. Too fragile for this world. Continual abuse for a film...was unconscionable. Rest in GOD'S Peace and Happiness..forever..Sweet Shelley. You are Missed.
Those rare, real geniuses burn so bright they can't live a simple, uncomplicated life. We are privileged to see their blaze and saddened to see them leave us. You gave more than you got and you deserved better, Shelley.
There was never a Shelley Duvall 'type', because she was absolutely, wonderfully unique. I'm ashamed to admit that throughout much of Duvall's career I didn't fully appreciate her. My obtuseness is now incomprehensible to me. Duvall brought a sparkly, disarming directness to every role that no one else could have. And being reminded of her impressive roster of unforgettable roles makes me crave seeing them again. { Oh, and fuck 'Dr.' Phil }
This makes me sad. I grew up watching this uniquely beautiful lady. Her movies always left an impression on your life. The subject matters were so deep and unusual just like her. May God rest her soul!😢
Kubrick (like the artist Jackson Pollock, the poet Percy Bysshe Shelley, and the director Woody Allen) was an artistic monster: talented as all hell, but an impossible human being. The famous conductor Toscanini said: "For Strauss the composer, I take my hat off. For Strauss the man, I put it on again." That's how I feel about Kubrick.
Just google Bernardo Bertolucci, director of Last Tango in Paris, and see what he and Marlon Brando did to Maria Schnieder, the 20 year old who was anally raped on camera. You can add those two to the list, too.
It was suggested a number of times that he might have been on the spectrum, that would explain the low empathy (putting the elderly Scatman Crothers through hundreds of takes for instance).
I’m sick and tired of the ridiculous idea that Stanley Kubrick’s demanding behavior on the set of *The Shining* is to blame for Shelley Duvall’s mental decline. It’s absolutely absurd to claim that a director's high standards ruined her life when she continued acting for another twenty years after that film. Duvall herself clearly stated she had no hard feelings toward Kubrick or the movie, so why the hell are people still pushing this nonsense? Both of them are dead now, yet this pathetic narrative keeps popping up. Let’s cut the crap: Kubrick, like many serious filmmakers, expected excellence from his cast and crew. He was intense, sure, but that’s what you get with a visionary. He didn’t scream or abuse anyone; he was just focused on making a great film. The footage from *The Shining* shows a professional environment, not a toxic hellscape. To spin this into some “madman” story is not just ignorant; it’s a total misrepresentation of how filmmaking works. Blaming a tough work environment for someone’s mental health struggles is not just simplistic-it’s downright stupid. Mental illness is complex, arising from a mix of genetic, environmental, and psychological factors. To suggest that a director's style could single-handedly cause mental health issues is a slap in the face to those who genuinely deal with these struggles. It reduces their experiences to a lame excuse. This blame-shifting is lazy, perpetuating the harmful stigma around mental health. It implies that individuals aren’t responsible for their own well-being or the realities of their mental states, which only diminishes the actual challenges they face. It’s high time to stop scapegoating Kubrick for Duvall’s issues. Her journey was her own, and tying it to Kubrick’s directorial style is a ridiculous oversimplification. Kubrick wasn't just hard on Shelley. He was pretty much a nightmare for anyone he worked with. He would wear actors down and make actors do hundreds of takes of the same shot to push them to an emotional breaking point. The idea was to show a person who was broken, stressed out, and in an untenable situation and record that on a camera. I guess the best way to depict a tortured soul in a movie is to actually torture someone, at least in Kubrick's mind.
@@DeeDeeGreen It is. People put up with it because he was a perfectionist, and he made some of the greatest movies ever made. What is that saying I hear all the time from girls, mostly "Pain is beauty."

Peter Jackson spent 3 years doing the 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy. Also, it was Stanley Kubrick. He was a perfectionist and if his vision isn't being captured on film, he kept doing it until it was. That's why he's a legendary director.
@@aisforapple2494There's a difference between being a perfectionist and a cruel, uncaring tyrant. On "The Shining" set he was becoming more of the latter. James Cameron has a similar reputation of being a bully and abusive on many of his productions. He may want his vision brought to life, but there are kinder and more productive ways of meeting that goal.
If Dr. Phil had an ounce of integrity he would have burned that tape and helped Shelley get the help she needed. BUT, he chose profit over helping a unwell woman.
@@kareyputman1403 Kubrick may very well have been harsh on Shelley, we have to assume so since others collaborated how he treated her. Yet... Shelley and Kubrick remained friends after the Shining. Here's the thing from my personal perspective. Sometimes we work for people who don't treat us well, it happens. You move on from it. Shelley wasn't laying brick or putting a roof on being pushed hard on a 105 degree day, she was reading lines, shedding some tears... Was it REALLY such a terrible situation?
Remember the bum fights guy who dressed up as dr phil when he went on the show and phil kicked him off? He said they did the same thing, profited off exploiting people at their lowest... Didnt realize how much of a point he had
When Shelley Duvall died, the Terminator 2 actor, Edward Furlong, had costarred with her in her last film, 'The Forest Hills,' and he was supposed to attend some nerd convention in the area, but his appearance was canceled, and I always wondered why (as though he might have been attending her funeral, or just felt depressed about her death and canceled.
When I hear soneone describe a woman as 'A doll', this is who I picture! She was a breathtaking thing of porcelain in her prime. Her Grimm Life interview painted her in a fine light, she knew she was adored. 🇬🇧❤️🇺🇲
If anything demonstrates how completely full of sh*t critics are, it’s the absolute trash takes on her performance in The Shining. Shelly’s performance as Wendy, was a true gift to cinema. She was frighteningly believable, and she delivered every bit, as much as Jack had delivered. The fact that the film is now regarded as a modern day classic, says it all. Thanks for everything Shelly.
Did we watch the same movie? Her acting was pedestrian at best. She was not horrible in it like Lady Gaga or Sophia Coppola. But she was plankish for the most part
@@PassengersMusic777 Well, I obviously disagree. The abuse foisted upon her by Kubrick, had her off balance for the duration of the shoot. I thought she was magnificent in The Shining, but even better as Olive Oyl.
Hollyweird loves to chew up and destroy talented actresses. Shelley Duvalll was a natural actress with a unique look. Any SANE Director would have cherished working with her, instead of breaking her, Like the evil Kubrick did. Thankfully her life will live on in some incredible celluloid cinematography and performances.
Thank you for doing such a lovely respectful tribute to an amazing talented, gifted actress. Let us not forget all we are learning about Hollywood and fame and the evils surrounding it, we should not be surprised that Shelly Duvall suffered as she did in the end… To me, it simply only proves what happens to a good soul immersed in darkness for so long.
Actors pay dearly for their demanding performances …weight loss, weight gain, mental anguish, isolation… all to achieve a believable character …they likely deserve whatever they earn even when it’s considered exorbitant.
9:00 Nomination for worst actress for her role in The Shining??? That is evidence enough for the idea that Hollywood awards are PR contests.....political in nature. There are individuals in Hollywood who understand acting but the majority do not. Its mostly actors/actresses who exist as promoted names due to knowing the right people....doing the right favors. They are there, mostly, because of things other than acting ability. Some of them have NO acting ability but they are 10/10 attractive and the casting couch is a thing. Shelley Duvall's performance in The Shining is the breakout performance. No... its not Jack Nichoson. He is a great actor....although he is a character actor. He plays Jack. Compare his role in One Flew over the Cuckoos Nest to his role as Joker in Batman.........seemingly two completely different characters but they are estimations of the same character. Less makeup, more lines.....but Jack plays Jack. Same with Samuel Jackson. People like him....I like him....But he plays Samuel Jackson in nearly every role. People just enjoy it. However....Duvall does not play all her roles the same. She actually acts. Yes, I am saying that she is a better actor than Jack Nicholson. I know, I know...he's great, and I agree. But judged on acting ability with BREADTH of performance as one of those variables...she is better. And her role in The Shining displays more acting ability than any other character.
I am not interested in conventional beauty as such, that can be commonplace, I much prefer the unique, idiosyncratic look of Shelly; she was a one-off character once seen never forgotten with an outlandish personality to match. I bet she lit up a room.
I didn't even realize she had passed. Very sad to hear. As much as I liked a lot of Dr. Phil's work, his interview with her made me lose a lot of respect for him. When the GrimLifeCollective channel caught up with her and had kind of a mini interview with her a while back, that was cool. They both stayed respectful and treated her with dignity.
You’re just looking to be mad at Dr. Phil because he’s often right. You’re literally seeking out biased against him and the comforting arms of other people who agree with you even if you’re wrong. Why is your anger not directed at the Hollywood abuse and practices that led to her becoming tortured and spiritually confused?
My favorite Shelley Duvall performance was in the movie Rixanne playing oposit Steve Martin as his gal pal. They played off each other so well and even though she wasn't in that many scenes her talent shone thru when she was on screen.
...and shouldn't we all tell those who are great that they ARE great while they live - not staying stuck behind personal ego stupidity and foolish jealously? RIP Shelley Duvall.
I loved her fairy tale theater. We still quote lines from them. 😊 I wish the people who wanted something from her could have done something to help her.
A close friend in Tulsa, OK, and I went to see The Shining at a local theater. Two grown men cowered in other seats, looking through their open-fingered hands at what was going on screen. Shelly was awesome, and I still watch The Shining near Halloween each year! RIP, Shelly, and thanks for all the scares!
I am a kid of the 80's and Shelley Duvall's mark on that decade cannot be overstated. I still consider "The Shining" to be the scariest movie I've ever seen and her role in "Popeye" always leaves a smile on my face. RIP Shelley. You will never be forgotten!
Thankyou for this touching and fitting tribute to such a talented and beautiful lady, yet such a shame how too many took advantage of her uniqueness. Sad she passed recently, a huge loss.
Excellent, thank you very much, I was touched deeply by this. She took a lot of trauma in some of her films, the stuff PTSD is made of. Rest well Shelley Duvall. O yes, I loved how you pronounced Texas hill country as Texas hell country! It can be sometimes!
Again I say, well done mate, well done. You cannot look away from Shelley Duvall as Wendy in The Shining. Having heard of her treatment on set though, and the 127 takes of the bat on stairs scene, I watch it knowingly now and feel sad. There was no actress like her before or since.
Just look at how much Kubrick uglied her up. Do a search on the term "Shelley Duvall behind the scenes of 3 Women (1976)". Now compare her to The Shining. Her hair was a poor dye-job that didn't match her complexion at all, it was stringy, had chunks cut out of it like she cut it herself while drunk, and she always looked like she had just gotten done crying in that movie. Kubrick did his best to make this beautiful woman look awful. Her character was a weak whiner, nothing like the book. Kubrick was disappointed that she was cast, it pissed him off that he couldn't reverse that decision, so he hated her and tried to screw up her career. As great as the movie was, imagine how it could've been if Wendy wasn't done so poorly.
I have often thought it odd, how as human beings we automatically think we have the right to comment on whose ugly, and who's beautiful, I feel a person's deeds are better being observed, than their looks ❤️🙏
Wow, that was really interesting and sad. It made me cry a little toward the end. I loved Pop-eye, and I still sing "He's tall, good-lookin' and large" sometimes around the house. The Shining was scary good, but she may have been overshadowed by the very creepy and scary Jack Nicholson. I didn't know she had been tortured on set like that. My Mom especially loved Shelly Duvall. I was excited hearing about her children's fairytale productions, but never got to see them. She got Joan Collins to play the wicked witch in Hansel & Gretal and I always wanted to see that, and finally did see it online. Joan Collins was uncrecognizable, but the fact that the glamorous and gorgeous Joan Collins would play an ugly old hag was wonderful casting. Collins more recently played an older woman character and they had to rely on makeup and a little prosthetics to make her look old enough. Isn't that funny? Collins isn't known for having plastic surgery. So, it is sad that Shelly DuVall's life wasn't a happy one, but at the same time she accomplished much. It is always difficult for those with unusual personalities to get through life, especially when they think they found a niche where they belong and are celebrated, only to have that outlet losee popularity and not being able to find another outlet that is just as well received. Child actors have similar situations in life, it seems. One can't be on top all the time. She is resting in peace.
This was a lovely video about Shelley. Thank you for making it about her and not about her last days and illness. this was respectful and not sensationalized at all.
I couldn't agree more. The AD is responsible for general conditions of safety / well being of actors on a film set. On the set of The Shinning that would have been a Mr. Anthony Frewin who worked on a number of Stanley Kubrick's productions. He would have known Kubrick's narcissistic, OCD and abusive behavior and failed to step in to protect Shelly Duvall. Ms. Duvall being Jewish was yah know like connected and didn't have to put up with it. Does anyone know of any actors contract that states they can be driven into a nervous break down with over a hundred scene takes to get the desired effect? Little wonder Mr. Frewin was uncredited.
Being ‘in hysterics’ daily for over a year and in physical exhaustion is devastating for the nervous system. It takes proper treatment to reset it and unfortunately for Ms Duvall to this day many therapists and physicians do not diagnose & treat it correctly. It’s heartbreaking 🙏🏼🌺
She was such a sweetheart. I believe the last interview she gave just months before she died was on the TH-cam channel called Grimmlife collective. Her vehicle looked as if though she was living in it, and she was weazing heavily. But they were so sweet with her and were enthusiastic and excited talking to her. They even expressed they were super fans of hers. All the people in her town wouldn't let anyone disrespect Shelly, and would say to leave her the hell alone. At least that's what the rumor was. R.I. P. Shelly Duvall *Update* : Grimm life collective were not only big fans of hers, but they were interviewing her because they co-produced Forest Hills.
Shelley Duvall was a phenomenal actress. Not like any of the other plastic barbie doll actresses Hollywood is full of. She came off as a real person. RIP Shelley. ❤❤❤🌻🌺🌹
For all those wondering about whether Dr. Phil is a doctor: A psychiatrist actually goes through medical school, and becomes a doctor of psychiatry. A person who earns a Master’s degree in psychology, is a psychologist, not a Dr.. A psychologist who has more years of study than a regular psychologist, and presents a dissertation (which I breve means they must be published as well), once their dissertation has been approved, then that person is a Doctor of Psychology. Many people who have earned their doctorate, do not use the title Dr. in front of their names, even when teaching in university. In my opinion, the ones who insist upon being called Dr. (fill in the blank), are usually way more concerned with flaunting their perceived superiority. Hubris imo.
Her portrayal of Olive Oil was so spot on. She stole that movie. I've always been a big fan of hers. RIP Shelley. 💖💖💖💖

Dr. Phil used Shelly Duvall like a Sacrifical Lamb. It was Sweeps Week when he aired her on national t.v. He's a creepy opportunist
Yes, it is so refreshing indeed.
💯
Are you kidding. I don't care what anybody says her performance in the Shining was excellent. I felt such compassion for her while watching the movie.
Especially during the scene when she walks in to check on Jack while he’s working on his book. The way he starts to get angry then berates and cusses her out for interrupting his concentration. I completely felt her character’s humiliation and stunned reaction to his words. It was very hard to watch that scene.
@@amiejohnston2842 That's right where I left off watching it a few days ago. Not sure I want to see her being terrorized after that again.

And this was exactly what Stanley Kubrick was trying to expose in the Industry! The movie was also about showing how Kubrick had filmed the moon landing in a Hollywood set. There are several scenes in the Shining with details also shown in the Apollo 11 mission.
Hollywood is Mystery, Babylon The Great, The Mother Of Harlots And Abominations Of The Earth. Apostate Jerusalem is her bride.

Shelley rebuked this and was happy with the film. She never had a bad word to say about Stanley no matter how much people tried to get it out of her.
If you want to stay out of the heat, don't accept a feature role in a Kubrick film. It wasn't as though how Kubrick worked as a mystery at the time.

Mental illness is complex, arising from a mix of genetic, environmental, and psychological factors.

HORRIBLE what was done 2 her in The Shining! That left her severely DAMAGED 4 life, poor lady! TY 4 this knowledge❤👍
She herself put those rumors to rest in 2021 in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter.
Thankyou for this touching and fitting tribute to such a talented and beautiful lady, yet such a shame how too many took advantage of her uniqueness. Sad she passed recently, a huge loss.
Shelley Duvall was a one-off, totally unappreciated in her time; not even belated praise is enough---she deserved more.
Excellent, thank you very much, I was touched deeply by this. She took a lot of trauma in some of her films, the stuff PTSD is made of. Rest well Shelley Duvall. O yes, I loved how you pronounced Texas hill country as Texas hell country! It can be sometimes!
Wonderfully written, rest in continuing grace Shelley Duvall
Again I say, well done mate, well done. You cannot look away from Shelley Duvall as Wendy in The Shining. Having heard of her treatment on set though, and the 127 takes of the bat on stairs scene, I watch it knowingly now and feel sad. There was no actress like her before or since.
Just the other day I was pretending to be that kid and talking with my finger about Tony. lol..she’s most definitely a legend we lost too soon. ✨
Great horse @@danskdna8550
That kid: Danny😂
One of my favorite all time actresses ever, (had a ‘crush’ on her when I was a teen), really hate the way she was treated, I had no idea, until now 😭…
Just look at how much Kubrick uglied her up.
127 takes for the baseball bat scene. Faaaark. Thats out of control.
She could have said no
but look what Kubric got
@@BeautifulDove-i7u I think she might have but no one listened. Lol.
@@DANTHETUBEMAN Yes, true. The Shining is a top shelf horror movie.
@@chuckselvage3157 I think Stanley Kubrick put all kinds of stuff in that movie, like a 5-D chess player.
I don’t understand how directors get away with the toxic and abusive sets they create.
Thank you for bringing these beautiful stories to life. ❤
I have often thought it odd, how as human beings we automatically think we have the right to comment on whose ugly, and who's beautiful, I feel a person's deeds are better being observed, than their looks ❤️🙏
Ouh this feels so hard😢😢She was a beautiful woman, from the inside out.And she lives again,in a better world❤
Wow, that was really interesting and sad. It made me cry a little toward the end.
I loved Pop-eye, and I still sing "He's tall, good-lookin' and large" sometimes around the house. The Shining was
scary good, but she may have been overshadowed by the very creepy and scary Jack Nicholson.
That movie scared me so badly... but it was because of the female lead drawing me into her terror!
Shelly is so beautiful in and out 😇🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
The director for The Shining absolutely destroyed her mental health. She was never the same after she worked on that movie .
Paul Simon married Edie Brakell from New Bohemians
R.I. P. Shelly Duvall
*Update* : Grimm life collective were not only big fans of hers, but they were interviewing her because they co-produced Forest Hills.
Title moment starts at 11:55 .
😂thank you
Thank you.. but the backstory is also interesting.
Shelley Duvall was a phenomenal actress. Not like any of the other plastic barbie doll actresses Hollywood is full of. She came off as a real person. RIP Shelley. ❤❤❤🌻🌺🌹
She was so beautiful. I never got to see her show but I want to. SOON.
She is and always will be legendary. Rest in peace Shelley.
Three years from now we'll be saying, "Shelley was right... damn."
Hubris imo.
