I’m an old guy learning guitar. I tell my teacher, who is also my Nephew, that if I can take away a nugget a week I’m happy. Watching your great video lets me know that I have actually learned quite a bit. That video is a gold mine. Please do more!
Finally... finally....What a big surprise from you. This is so cool !!! Thank you very much Chris. I watched many video from your youtube channel to learn on technologies, wood and knowledge of different Guitar. Of course also enjoy these music played by you. I always wanted to learn these, thank you.
My niece gave me beginner music books and I didn't know about tabs. So I learned how to read music by playing songs I know while reading the music for it. Obviously basics but it worked!
A real appreciated offer. You opened our eyes (older students) to very interesting thoughts and hidden gems. I love the simplicity, smoothness and challenges it gives us. I really wish you would continue these kind of lessons and maybe simplify them even more for early beginners that know a scale or two. Please continue. It’s wonderful and ur natural.
I found this to be extraordinarily useful. I am trying to move from chords to fingerpicking. This is so useful because it’s so intuitive. I find that seeing the chord listed above tablature helps, but I am also learning to “read” notes by looking at just the chord itself. Your approach is a real eye opener. Thanks for all you do ,
So i was watching a review of a guitar and i thought to myself, man i really love these melody's i wish i knew what they were. This was the next video i watched. Man, this video is actually a game changer for me. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Although I am a beginner and still need to understand how it all works, my dream is to play pieces like these! I have ben looking and trying to figure out how you play these pieces! I would love the tabs, but the cocepts you approched here are gold.
Thanks Chris! Very good if not somewhat common advice. I doubt you'd have to tab out the tune I'm interested in. 10 minutes of video would explain the whole thing. You already taught the start. Thanks again!
You are such an amazing guitarist!!! I really appreciate all of your content you helped me decide on my current Taylor guitar! This video is also a light spot durning dark times for me!!!
Thank you for sharing this. I have followed your videos and I really admire your playing. I have run your videos in slow motion to try and figure out your fingering. I have ended up with more or less my own version of them. So, would love see more about your songs and how they are put together.
Hi good morning, Chris, I already learnt how to play the third one but not in the same position as what You do but on the basis of what I could hear as a groove of melody in my brain. Sometimes, it takes too much time to trying to copy some one's playing exactly. Nonthless I copied Slas's Solo part in "sweet child of mine" as I like it as a killer solo and it made me pleased playing guitar during this long lockdown period for the last 20 days.
Your little tune at 6:18 that you play in full elsewhere is deserving of a name and a tab. I'm working it out just by watching your Martin review video. There's also a guy playing it elsewhere on TH-cam too.
Any chance you have the TAB for these shared anywhere to help fill in the blanks? I think I'm getting the idea of it but it was still a bit hard to follow your hands as you moved through he melodies. Seeing your demos is one of my favorite things just because the music used is so energetic and seems to fly across the neck of the guitar compared to any of the 'top 40' stuff for any given generation that we tend to draw ourselves into as newer players.
In general you stick with notes that are in the scale of the key of your tune. For example: if you are playing in G major and you want to embellish on a C cord, then you would still play the F sharp presant in the G major scale rather then the F natural that is in the C major scale. Keep in mind though that this is general advice, their are always exceptions in music depending on the genre and style you are playing. I hope this helps.
From the chords and scales - these chords come in families: C, F, G(7), Am,... are the chords of C-major; G, C, D(7), Em, ... are the chords of G-major etc. ( the C & Am scales overlap (parallel chords), as do the G & Em scales ... and so on )
Chris is just so good at explaining things and sharing information in a clear way. A very smart guy
Dude you just unlocked the guitar for me. Great teacher here

Thank you, Chris. Please keep doing these little mini-lessons.

Extremely well explained. I love embellishing jazz chords, really unlocks some interesting melodies.

Nice break from guitar gear talk. Looking forward to hearing more new material in the context of showcasing these acoustic beauties.
OMG....I'm a beginner but that is so refreshing and makes total sense
Thank you for taking the time to explain what I've been appreciating about your playing.
I could listen to you play the guitar for hours. Been watching your videos trying out several guitars. Thank you for sharing your wisdom.

Although way ahead of where I am in learning guitar, still very enjoyable and informative.
Brilliant. Thank you. More of this type of thing would be much appreciated.

Great video! I learned a lot in a few minutes. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for this. This is where I am in my guitar journey -- trying to see the fretboard in a more musical way.
Awesome video, well done. Bought a guitar from you guys last summer, keep it up and I'll be coming back for lessons haha
Good lesson. Subscribed.

Wauw thanks man, i really enjoy your songs. I tried to transcribe the song that starts on the G, but this helps loads.
Just learning, Nice presentation. Need to find a good teacher.

Did you ever fully transcribe it? If so would love if you could share your tab.
i would love to see the riff for this

Dude that was kind of eye opening
6:16 please what song is this. Is there a link to a video, i'd like to learn this😃
Like mini lessons.
Is the scale determined by each chord or by the main key? In other words, do I need to change the embellish notes with each chord change?
I was wondering the same thing.

It is, a 812ce 12 fret
Can you give a list.. yamaha guitar tht are made in japan?
How do you know what key you are in?
