- Ben and Tom Birchall lived up to expectations and led the 3wheeling.media Sidecar TT Race from start to finish, the Haith Honda duo lapping at 119.22mph, just a fraction outside their own lap record, to win their 11th TT and eighth in a row.
The battle for second went all the way to the chequered flag though and it was the Manx pairing of Ryan and Callum Crowe (Haven Homes) who secured second place, in just their second TT race, from Pete Founds/Jevan Walmsley (FHO Racing) by the tiny margin of 0.11 seconds

The amount of trust they must have in each other is unbelievable. If one makes an error, both are at risk. Cant think of any other sport where the stakes are that high not to f*ck up.
Imagine i can hit 180mph on my bike,but as a passenger,if you accelarate from 30 to 90 mph i shit myself
Simultaneous climbing might be another cool example of absolute trust. It's what is used when speed records on big walls are set, like on El Capitan in Yosemite.

a lot of strange things must have happened in the childhood of the passengers in this games
80 km racing and it's 0.1 sec between 2nd and 3rd!

TT doesn't stand for time trial in the IOMTT.Means tourist trophy.Not saying Ur wrong cause you are saying TT in a different sense....time trial.Saying it just as some info if you didn't know

Hats off to these guys,the strain they put themselves under,the sidecar passenger is nothing short of a contortionist..except he/she has to do it at high speed and for a full lap!!!! total respect.

I'm curious to know. This race had a crash on the first lap that took 2 lives. During the livestream they dont even mention that there was a crash and the race finished?? Wasnt there a red flag? I'm sorta confused. Can anyone explain the crash protocol
There was a red flag, so the race was stopped all times deleted and the race re started so what happened before the red flag doesn't count for the rest of the race so they don't show it on the replay
He keeps saying the driver and the passenger, the passenger is the called the MONKEY!
sidecar is the best, i wish I could practice it but not sure where to start.
looks expensive too in comparison with standard track days

You have to be completely nuts to be a passenger on one of those things....
I know consenting adults should be allowed to do what they want but it's crazy to me that this event is allowed to continue. A father and son just died in this very race, 5 deaths this year now...crazy.

we must defend the IOM it is a historical race like no other and the media attacking it is disrespectful to those who have unfortunately took their last ride doing what they CHOSE to do despite the risk. I'm from America and love riding and if I had the skills and bravery these men have I would love to get the opportunity. I know my limits just like the racers know theirs but when it's your time to die nothing will change you fate.

Sidecar kings balls of steel
As a dude that honestly wishes I had the cash to come race the tt there is no chance I would ever do this I look at the tt as pure fun this look like as white knuckles ride as it gets the passengers can't ride a bike themselves cause there balls are to big and made of steel
It’s the magnificent 7 for Tom and Ben the rocket man they have won for the 7th year in a row it’s a double in the way because they built the 2ed place machine as well And this is the 11th win at the TT these guys just simply amazing
are these guys faster than the ordinary bikes? they can probably take corners faster?
No, the sidecars are averaging 118 mph, and the bike lap record is 135 mph, which as an average speed is just insane, as some corners are quite slow so they have to spend a lot of time going faster than 135 mph to make up for those.
You're right though, the sidecars probably can corner faster and brake later (more rubber on the road), but won't accelerate as quickly. Also, these are only 600cc sidecars vs. the 1,000cc bikes.
Seriously, there is something wrong with these guys. I sure wish I had one of those sidecar outfits.
Imagine just losing 2nd on pretty much the last corner because of a small slip up, that would piss you off.
What happens when sidecars race single bikes who has the advantage ?

You may like to look up Tony Pond 100mph lap of the Island in a reasonably standard Rover 800 Vitesse.
Absolutely amazing driving and a record that still stood until quite recently. It took a very race prepared Subaru to beat that record, which puts it into perspective.
