I’m a retired elementary and middle school music teacher. I’ve been teaching music online since Covid started and interested in applying and finding ways to increase my income
Hi & YAY!!!! I've been looking for this all day, and I've finally found you :). Do you still offer the 45 minute class? I didn't see a link. Thank you!!!! Sandy
Thank you for sharing your experience. I was wondering if in addition to being on our school’s platform, do you promote or market your own independent online school separate from their platform?
Great question-- I haven't in the past because Outschool makes group classes easy to fill for us, but we are hoping to start marketing our privates on our own this year too just to diversify!
@@KatieGettysCoaching Great! Thank you for your quick response. Are there policies Outschool has that would prohibit one from doing something independently? I’m asking because I almost ran into that with another organization a year ago. I already had students on my own and was looking to teaching within their organization. However, they had a policy that prohibited me from teaching within a 50 mile radius of them (for 6 months) had I chose to leave their organization.
@@samuelcross8581 So Outschool does have policies about taking learners off the platform in a sense that if you have a student who found you through Outschool, you're not allowed to then teach them independently off of Outschool. But if you found a student on your own through external marketing, you're still allowed to teach them on your own off the platform. Does that make sense? :)
Hi there! I feel like im late to the party but may i enquire why the geographic restrictions? Im from Singapore if that helps. Our timezones arent that far apart!
Unfortunately OS only accepts teachers who live in USA, Canada, England, Wales, NZ, and Australia. I recommend going solo! I have lots of videos about that too, check them out 👍
You mentioned your total earnings for the first year, and you probably don’t want to share your current earnings, but at 87$ per hour, how full is your schedule? Thanks
It varies based on the time of year but right now my org is teaching an average of 17 hours per week! I actually have a video where I break down my entire first year of pay month by month where I talk about my hours taught and everything as an independent teacher on Outschool. I'll link it here if you want to check it out: th-cam.com/video/VaN2h6dLn14/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=KatieGettys
Hi! I'm a music teacher based in the Philippines. Does Outsource accept teachers from outside the countries they mentioned in the application? They only hire teachers based in US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, England or Wales... :(
Unfortunately those are the only countries they allow teachers to be from at this time. The other one I usually recommend is Allschool where you can live abroad but you still have to be from those same countries. If I were you I would go solo and find your own students!
Unfortunately right now to teach on Outschool you have to live the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, England, or Wales, but maybe in the future!
You mentioned an interview process. Are you considered an independent contractor or an employee with Out School? Do they allow you to teach on other online platforms at the same time or is it an exclusive agreement?
Yes, so you are considered an independent contractor and are allowed to work for other companies or on your own as well. They just have strict rules about taking students off the platform if you got them from Outschool, which of course is not allowed. If you want to know more about the interview process then check out this video too: th-cam.com/video/VO13dVjz9kg/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=KatieGettys
