Some tips from a CTT owner. It's a pig; not a catfish. The rear seats do fold flat (read owners manual). Keyless go works but needs a plastic dummy key. Rear hatch struts need replaced after about 10 years.

I haven't had a rear view camera failure. So far I've only had to replace my Air Suspension Control Unit, Turbo Blow Off Valve, Ignition Coils, Wiper Arm, Parking Brake Strut (twice), Horn (twice), Coolant Pipes, Washer Cap, Crank Case Breather Hose, Primary and Secondary Fuel Pumps, Washer Jet, Coolant Tank, Liftgate Struts, T fitting (coolant system), and Transverse Mount. The seats go flatter than that :P you have to lift the base up and tip it forward then remove the head rests. Then you can fold the back rests down flat. Can people like this so Tyler see this. :)
Rear cargo space: Take off the head rests, pull the buckle in front of the bottom seat cushion and the bottom flips up. Fold it forward. There are holes to put the head rests into. Now fold the back of the seat forward - it goes all the way flat. Fun toy: You'll find an air hose in a bag under the driver's side seat bottom. Go up to the passenger side front seat and look for a round rubber plug. Remove it and there will be an air fitting for that hose. It is long enough to reach all of the tires and has a pressure gauge on it.
A couple of your complaints can be resolved easily and just you not being familiar with 1St gen cayenne ownership. First problem is knowing how to lower rear seats properly. First pull strap up that's on front edge of lower rear seat. This allows lower seat to fold forward. Then remove upper headrest. Then lower seat back and it will lay completely flat! The rear hatch falling down is a very common problem for worn out and tired hatch struts. New struts off eBay will solve your problem and lots of videos show you how. For the keyless entry with a mind of its own. If you ever feel it's not being recognized or won't unlock car due to a weak signal then Just know that the transmitter is near trunk rear hatch. Try opening rear hatch 1st and then it will recognize key again. Also go into car menu through steering wheel controls and under convenience menu you can program which doors open when car unlocks. As far as looks... well...new wheels do wonders!! Turbo II or GTS look great and update looks!! Keep up the great work!! As far as the stereo is concerned, ebay search android stereo for porsche cayenne. they offer lots of inexpensive options that fit and look like a factory unit. if you have a bose system then search for one prewired to work with bose. or just go with a new amp system. either way that will give you all up to date apps and navigation and makes the infotainment system really nice to work with again!

The ignition is on the left side because back in the days when Porsche raced, the racecar drivers had to run to their cars and start up the car before starting to race, so it was advantageous to have the ignition close to the door so as the driver was sitting he could start the car. Now it's just tradition.
The two best inventions in the last two-ish decades and the real reasons why! Number one: Keyless go, reason: You can leave the car running and lock the doors while you do something else and/or also leave your dogs in the car when it's -40 C (-40 F) or when it's +40 C (104 F) and they will have a good time without, you know, dying. And yes, those temperatures are possible in northern Sweden depending on the season.This comes in real handy when it's february in northern Sweden and you don't want to freeze your ass off after you're done shopping. Number two: Heated steering wheel, reason: You know, 'cause it's nice to have warm hands in the winter. Also, it encourages keeping both your hands firmly locked around the wheel at all times while driving, at least seasonally.
I have had one of those for years: ITS HAS KEYLESS START, Your are just missing the fixed plastic key you use to fill the ignition lock. Google it.. Unlocking one or more doors is an option you can choose if you want it to unlock all doors or only the drivers door. And the seats DO FOLD FLAT. You just need to pull ups the bottom part first :-).
Awesome video. I have a 2008 Cayenne Tiptronic and love it. The seats fold completely different. You have to take the headrests off and pull up on the bottom of the seat, AND THEN fold the seat back, for a perfectly flat floor.
If you want more cargo space pull up on the leather strap at the base of the rear seat, lift the back of the seat up till it's vertical, then take out the headrest and put the seat back down. Also the factory air hose that can be used to pump up the tires is under the seat, then there is a small connector for it at the base of the front passenger seat that is connected to the air reservoir for the suspension
The seats in back actually do fold all the way down. You pull or flip the seat bottom up then take headrests off and put them in a place on the bottoms and then they go all the way down.
Re: the keyless entry system not unlocking all the doors, I think that's pretty standard - it's a safety feature. With my truck, a 2017 Jeep Compass, when I touch the drivers side handle it only unlocks the drivers door. Lets say you are in a secluded parking lot and you feel like someone is following you, you don't necessarily want all the doors unlocked. If you touch the passenger's side all the doors unlock. It's like with the remote - typically if you press unlock once the driver's door unlocks, if you press it twice all the doors unlock.
The seat can be folded down even farther you just have to lift up the handle underneath the rear seats and fold it forwards towards the front of the car and then the rear seats can be folded down flat, but you do have to remove the headrests if you want to do that.

What doors unlock when using it can usually be adjusted in the menu somewhere. However, some cars may only do driver side. Idk. My Lexus did the same thing, and I never found out how to change it, but probably could've been changed in settings somewhere.

I think some of those issues are specific to ur cayenne. 1) pretty sure the keyless start system includes a plastic adapter in the ignition that starts the car while the key is in the vicinity 2) doubt the infotainment screen is broken from the factory 3) the keyless entry was also probably working well when the car was new All in all, for its time, the cayenne was loaded with tech
I just ate at Freddy's today. Maple Ridge Location. I have a V8 Touareg and love it. The rear seats on the VW are different, the base flips forward and the head rest comes out then the seat back lays flat.

you can fold the rear seats flat down, but you first have to fold up the bottom of the seat up against the front seats, then the back rest of the seat will fall down completely after removing the headrest, and leave you with a flatter cargo space. also if you have the keyless go feature, it should of came with a fake, dummy, plastic key that always stays in the ignition but only starts the car if the main remote is in the SUV. so it is a full keyless go, but the previous owner probably lost the dummy key, must people do. that one seems to be missing one of my favorite options, the 4 zone climate control! everyone in the car is happy with their own AC settings! have you used the on board compressor! its literally one of coolest features ever! the hose is kept under the driver side, rear seat and then there's a hook up for it under the front passenger seat next to that little drawer down there, its covered by a rubber cap, and it screws on in there and its so handy! its not like one of those that pump as the compressor runs, it actually uses the onboard tank that it uses for the air ride, so it has a lot of pressure!
Cayenne turbo brakes are $5k every 20-30k miles, tires are $450-$550 a piece every ~20k miles. I have a 2011 and thats just some of the cost. Gas is about 14mpg which is pretty good considering how much power it puts out. MPG dips into the 10s when I get foot heavy.
Brakes on a 955 Turbo are cheap and last more than 20k. I replaced my first set of pads and rotors for $400 at 70k miles. Lots of tire choices for ~$150each.
Just check the prices for the 21 inch wheels on mine and its $300 and up. My rotors need placing after 20+ and there is no way around it. It s pretty expensive to own. My sports cars don't have this kind of maintenance bills.
The shocks for the rear hatch are too puny for the weight of the hatch so they wear out quickly, unfortunately. You have to flip the seat bottoms up in the backseat before folding the seat backs down and remove the headrests. You need the blank keyfob in the ignition that you leave in there and the actual key stays in your pocket/purse. You forgot to mention the crappy gas mileage 11/16hwy. New turbos are 16/23 at least.
You should make a video where you take the Cayenne Turbo to a Porsche dealership, and get an estimate of what needs to be fixed along with a written estimate. How much $$ would it take to repair this vehicle to normal?
If we still had rum runners this is what they would drive to keep away from those revenuers. I love mine and all those hates are fixable. Kenwood, Pioneer, etc. have nice replacement consoles with all the latest bells and whistles like hands free and back up camera. I had the back hatch go out, needs a new strut. Also the seats do go flat, you didn't do it right; the bottom folds forward first.

The back storage does go flat when you fold down the back seat correctly. The seating part of the back seat flips up and the backrest goes down.

the rear bench seats have a pull tab allowing them to flip up and the rear cargo area can be stored completely flat.

I think some of those issues are specific to ur cayenne.
1) pretty sure the keyless start system includes a plastic adapter in the ignition that starts the car while the key is in the vicinity
2) doubt the infotainment screen is broken from the factory
3) the keyless entry was also probably working well when the car was new
All in all, for its time, the cayenne was loaded with tech
If you lift up the seat portion of the rear seat and remove the head rest you are able to lay the rear seats completely flat.

Just wanted to mention the rear seats do fold flat you have to pull up the bottom of the seat first then the back
I have the Touareg and there is a strap on the bottom of the cushion that pulls that part out and after removing the head rest, it will fold flat.
I just ate at Freddy's today. Maple Ridge Location. I have a V8 Touareg and love it. The rear seats on the VW are different, the base flips forward and the head rest comes out then the seat back lays flat.

you can fold the rear seats flat down, but you first have to fold up the bottom of the seat up against the front seats, then the back rest of the seat will fall down completely after removing the headrest, and leave you with a flatter cargo space.
also if you have the keyless go feature, it should of came with a fake, dummy, plastic key that always stays in the ignition but only starts the car if the main remote is in the SUV. so it is a full keyless go, but the previous owner probably lost the dummy key, must people do.
that one seems to be missing one of my favorite options, the 4 zone climate control! everyone in the car is happy with their own AC settings!
have you used the on board compressor! its literally one of coolest features ever! the hose is kept under the driver side, rear seat and then there's a hook up for it under the front passenger seat next to that little drawer down there, its covered by a rubber cap, and it screws on in there and its so handy! its not like one of those that pump as the compressor runs, it actually uses the onboard tank that it uses for the air ride, so it has a lot of pressure!

if you pull up on the bottom strap in the bottom of the rear seat the bottom part flips forward and the seat back will lay flat
They just opened a Freddy's in Plano, Texas, I believe and we drove by, the place was packed!
Cayenne turbo brakes are $5k every 20-30k miles, tires are $450-$550 a piece every ~20k miles. I have a 2011 and thats just some of the cost. Gas is about 14mpg which is pretty good considering how much power it puts out. MPG dips into the 10s when I get foot heavy.
Brakes on a 955 Turbo are cheap and last more than 20k. I replaced my first set of pads and rotors for $400 at 70k miles.
Lots of tire choices for ~$150each.
Just check the prices for the 21 inch wheels on mine and its $300 and up. My rotors need placing after 20+ and there is no way around it.
It s pretty expensive to own. My sports cars don't have this kind of maintenance bills.

The shocks for the rear hatch are too puny for the weight of the hatch so they wear out quickly, unfortunately. You have to flip the seat bottoms up in the backseat before folding the seat backs down and remove the headrests. You need the blank keyfob in the ignition that you leave in there and the actual key stays in your pocket/purse. You forgot to mention the crappy gas mileage 11/16hwy. New turbos are 16/23 at least.

You should make a video where you take the Cayenne Turbo to a Porsche dealership, and get an estimate of what needs to be fixed along with a written estimate. How much $$ would it take to repair this vehicle to normal?
You can lift and tilt the rear seat pad before you lower the back and then it goes flat.
The rear seats actually fold flat. Theres a handle that allows you to move the bottom cushions up and forward before you fold the seats back flat.
The seat does fold down flat....the base flips up then you can go flat lol....I have a 2009 S and have only had 1 issue with it in the last 7 years.

I love mine and all those hates are fixable. Kenwood, Pioneer, etc. have nice replacement consoles with all the latest bells and whistles like hands free and back up camera. I had the back hatch go out, needs a new strut. Also the seats do go flat, you didn't do it right; the bottom folds forward first.
