ME1507 & Sevcon Gen4 Size6 bench test

Bench testing of my EV motorcycle powertrain. Motenergy ME1507 and Sevon Gen 4 Size 6 programmed by Frodus. Never got around to installing this in a bike but the bench test checks out and it's ready for fab work.

Hello, how is the reverse working? What if you unattended engage reverse when you are driving forwards. Is there a safety function? ( exaple... you can only engage reverse in standing still position )

Hello good! I have a query about the sevcon gen 4 controller, it is currently connected to the ME1616 motor, the motor rotates correctly but at a certain point it stops and from the DVT software it indicates the error, current control and overvoltage sometimes both errors sometimes one only. Could you tell me what configuration parameters I can modify to solve it? Thanks, I also wanted to ask if you know how to get the SCWIZ software for the auto-parameterization of the motor. thank you

Sorry man, I can't help you there. I paid someone to program this controller and while it works, I pray to god it never fails. If it does the Sevcon is going in the dumpster and I'll buy a more user-friendly controller (like Kelly).

It can, but I'd have to configure the input to the controller for it. Just like the throttle, it's a variable analog input. Some people have used strain gauges and voltage multiplier circuits connected to fixed clutch levers to vary the amount of regen. Others just use a switch for a fixed amount.

Direct from Motenergy back in 2014. I guess it was mostly good timing because they never had the offering listed on their website anywhere. I called to ask about the ME1507 and I was offered this kit directly from them, I just had to deal with the programming on my end.

Hey, can you explain what the seat switch does? Does it measure if the seat is occupied? I bough and old military EV whith everything still in it, but i cant seem to get it to work. I also cant get the contactor to engage but that is another problem.

Yes, that's exactly what the seat switch does. You can technically short that contact so the controller thinks there's always someone in the seat. But you can NOT do that with the direction switch (forward or reverse). If either of those contacts is closed when you power up the controller it will go into fault.
