Thanks Cooking with Dog It was my husbands idea to smash one of them! I was a little hesitant, however loved the footage! We will have to work together soon! :-) Elise x
I did NOT expect you to flatten one of your creations at the end. :o But that was pretty neat looking though. :) Saves me the trouble of having to try it I guess, so I can just eat mine.
MyCupcakeAddiction Haha boys will be boys :D Just don't squish any real spiders, cause they're super useful. Though... you live in Australia, right? Perhaps some of your eight-legged friends are more dangerous than useful. :/
Fantastic idea and so impressed that you managed everything with your gloves on, that would have driven me to distraction. Thanks Elise for another brilliant vid :-)
It was tough at times Kate Bowen However worth the effort to stay in character for my Halloween tutorial! I wouldn't recommend making these with cloth gloves on to anyone! :-)
mycupcakeaddiction, you are my hero you've inspired me to bake more and even start my own cooking channel (which i haven't yet)! i just wanted to say.... THANK YOU!
+E Lawson You could use fondant or use red twizlers and dip them into black or brown candy melts. I guess if you want a less rouned look you could dip small thin pretzel rods in the cany melts. Hope this helps
I'm going to make these soon. Such a neat idea! Instead of licorice though I think I'll cover small pretzel sticks in the black melting chocolates in a V shape and use those instead. We aren't fans of black licorice at my house.
Great idea mcamara87 These can be modified a number of ways to accommodate taste/allergies so most people will be able to enjoy....eating a spider...full of goo.... ;-)
Thank you pixiecupcake75 It was an effort to keep them on throughout the tutorial when working with chocolate (i wouldn't recommend doing it) but worth it to see the finished tutorial and the fan comments who appreciated the effort! :-) Thanks for writing in
I love this. And you could also use white chocolate and red jellyand make an eyeball and use either red licorice for veins or mabey just paint them on with edible paints....
Spiders make my sister sick and she won't eat these but I want to use the jelly centre idea umm make orange ones and pumkins? Do you think that would work
How far in advance can these be made and how do you recommend storing them if they can be made in advance? My concern is the moisture that might ruin the outside.
Elise, awesme I would like to ask your for your help or idea please,, If I wanted to put a ghost inside of the cupcake, how would I do this please?? I do have a pattern for the ghost.. Would I need to bake a few for every cupcake,, in order to see the ghost no matter how one would cut it or bite into it? In what order should I put them in the middle of the top batter.? Ty LEslie Gosh I hope I am making sense..
Kamjam as AmSay8D said it would be an extremely long video Like hours long! Fortunately/Unfortunately i have to try my best to balance the length of my tutorials with the level of instruction i can provide. :-)
I really liked your no bake spider idea. would really want to make them this Halloween for my son's class ..but here is US we dont get licorice straps..do you have any other idea for spider's legs ?? or do you know anyother edible item which can be used for legs??
Hi, i really want to make these but all I have is the metal version of those silicon moulds and they just don't work. I haven't been able to find the silicon version anywhere and I was wondering does anybody have any alternatives that I could use.
You should do a video like this but instead of green on the inside, do red, and instead of black candy melts, use white ones, and it'll look like eyeballs (if you add the pupils, irises, and veins) with blood in the middle!!
There should be something called Jelly Crystals, or Jell-O packets in a store. I'm not from Germany but keep a look out for those things. The flavours should be lime or something like that
The jello spiders are really creative! I can't resist smashing the spiders and you did it at the end! :) Great presentation, Elise-san!
Thanks Cooking with Dog
It was my husbands idea to smash one of them! I was a little hesitant, however loved the footage!
