Hi Ryan and Kala, I’m on the cruise with you on the 14th? Anything you are going to do or pack different after having already cruise a couple weeks again.
That's so exciting!! We definitely packed too much, it was warmer than we'd expected but we probably just got lucky. I think we both packed multiple sweaters, coats, vests, etc when we would've been fine with only a rain jacket and a sweater + vest. We were really happy with the excursions we chose and the hiking we did, I think for our first trip I wouldn't change a thing because we had a great balance of activities. Hope this helps!! 🍻😎☀️

Hi Ryan and Kala, my husband and I really enjoyed watching your videos about your Alaskan cruise on OTS. We leave soon for the same cruise. We fly into SEA the morning of our cruise (arrive at 10am) and would love to know all the details about how to get to the port and everything that happens during the embarkation process. After doing some research we are planning to take a taxi to the port. So, what happens from the time we get out of the cab (with our luggage which will not be too much; we will each have a small rolling bag and backpack) until we are on the ship and free to roam about. BTW your videos are the best and now we can’t tolerate the others! 😬
That's so exciting we loved Alaska you guys are going to have an amazing time. Everything is pretty simple as long as you have completed the online check-in and submitted all the required info. When you arrive to the port you can drop off your luggage with one of the porters (if you want, I know you mentioned you had small rolling bags), make sure it has the luggage tag on it from the cruise documents. From there depending on the port, youll wait for your boarding time selected when you checked-in or they may just open it up. In Vancouver it was just a free for all but generally stick to your boarding time. You go through some basic security lines. When you're in line waiting, complete your online muster then when you get onboard just go right to the muster station to get it done with. You get your rooms around 1pm but other than that you're free to roam. Hope that helps, if you have any more questions or need clarification let me know 😎☀️🍻
Enjoying this so much as we were on an Alaskan cruise a month ago as well. It was our favourite to date, which surprised me! Side note lol. Do you guys actually wear beanies 9 months of the year in Ottawa? 😂 We live in SW Ontario, about 7 hrs from Ottawa and I would say it’s cold, somewhat snowy maybe January & February. I know Ottawa gets harsher winters but 9 months? 🤣 Or was that a bit of a joke. Lol. Cause we want to visit in October. Do I need a hat already? lol It is often about 20 + Celsius doing the day here in October.

It's one of those things where the morning and nights are cold and the day is warm. It definitely depends year-to-year as you probably know, we might not get snow until December. Great video... lots of good info on a full day at sea!! I'm fairly sure, however, that Kala had the quote wrong at 5:35 though... The correct wording is... "Early worm... gets... the worm!" At least that's the way my pal Michael Scott says it! I was just going to mention about the free 8x10 pictures for Diamond level with Royal Caribbean and BOOM, you go and said it!! Haha Do you guys ever bother with the free casino play they give to Diamond level? 6 bucks, Baby!! Great job on the Rip-cord... looked like a blast. I'll have to see if you guys try the FlowRider. Those Foster beers are the best. Like you said, over double the amount!! Poor Kala taking one for the team with burning the roof of her mouth. 🔥🥵 The new camera had some nice clear shots at dinner, some of them looked 3D!! 👍👍
Hahah 🤣 love it. We do use our free play! I can't remember which day but Kala ends up getting like $20 or something then wanted to take her profits and run lol. We didn't do the flowrider on this trip but I did give it a try on our Explorer OTS vlog, haven't tried standing yet. I'm still new with the camera and noticed a lot of times where it came out of focus, I know why now and it bothers me I can't go back and fix it. We had a really good laugh rewatching the moment at Jamie's lol, poor Kala 🤣. Thanks for watching!! 😎☀️🍻

We love watching your videos and your Alaska vlogs are what made us pick this sailing for 2024. One stupid question tho, Kaya where did you get the big wool sweater that you are wearing out of the pool deck? I am looking for one just like it for our sailing.
That's so exciting! The Coffee card is just an add-on purchase In the beverage packages section of your cruise planner. You basically get 15 tall-sized specialty coffees or 7 grande/venti sized. In the end I don't think it saves you that much, maybe a drink or two. Thanks for watching!! 😎☀️🍻

My wife is gluten free also. If kala is worried about the gluten at the buffet just ask a manager and they will get one of the chefs to walk you around personally and point out everything that is gluten free. My wife did this almost every day....by day 3 the chef was pretty much waiting for her 😂.....royal is great for gluten allergies.
We agree! Royal always takes great care of Kala. She is usually a little nervous if there's not a gluten free section or if it's not labeled as Gluten free on the signs. They are always really great in the Main dining and specialty restaurants. Thanks for the tip about the buffet!!
I went on the Ovation 2023 and I just booked the Carnival Celebration. I didn't like the food on the Ovation at all. The experience itself amaZING. The food off the ship was very good.
When did you and Kayla actually take your Alaskan cruise? Asking for weather temps. Headed that way in two weeks. Want to make sure the fam packed enough warm clothes!
We were on the May 11th sailing, we had very good weather for the majority of the trip it was quite warm. It's hard to provide advice because I think we just got really lucky. ☀️😎🍻

Did Alaska on the Carnival Miracle last September...but that was a smaller ship and no where near as nice as the RCL Ovation! ~Smitty (Still watching your video since this one is a bit longer than usual :-) And congratulations on your Diamond status!!!! We love being diamond those 4x vouchers each really make a difference, there's also the free photo and 1x wifi day each. Royal definitely has the best loyalty perks in our opinion. Your videos - well I am a Ryan and Kala fan now, because I enjoy your presentations...and your subject matter! In fact, you and Kala are one of the reasons I am Loyal to Royal! My first cruise with RCL was on Enchantment and you guys did a walk through that I viewed and then we exchanged a few notes. As you noted, see what kind of feedback you receive regarding the length of the segments. This past May I flew down to FT Lauderdale from Maryland to cruise on the Vision for a repositioning cruise. From Ft Lauderdale to Curacao, Bonaire, Aruba then to the new home port, in Baltimore. That was 10 days. I stayed on the Vision and did b2b another 9 days. From Baltimore, to Bermuda, Nassau, Coco Cay and back to Baltimore. Had an awesome time and met some really fun people! A group cruise sounds good! Even if it is just simply letting some of your "fans" know what cruise we should book. I imagine planning a group cruise could be like herding cats. LOL!
@@csmith2435 Thats great feedback thank you for sharing. Sounds like you had some wonderful cruises, we've never done a b2b we'd love to try one. We do have some exciting cruises booked, mainly a Mediterranean one with Royal and the Jubilee with Carnival next year. Can't wait!
When you hit a certain amount of days at sea you become a “diamond” member. This entitles you to certain perks on board like 4 free drinks per day, deals on photos, beverages, laundry etc plus access to this diamond lounge where you get snacks and coffees etc as well as a diamond lounge concierge who can help make reservations etc. Royal has some of the best loyalty perks at sea!
Love your content and new camera. Only downside now is u look at yourself in the screen and not into the camera. Kind of loses the engagement with the viewers. I'm sure you'll see the error of ur ways when editing and work on looking into the camera. Love ur content
