It surprises me that these two don't have more subscribers. I recently found this channel and feel it's the best cruise channel out there!
I’m going to be frank, a lot of far right people cruise, but refuse to watch and sub bc of their relationship. It shouldn’t matter bc their content is superb, but alas…prejudices still prevails.
They are the best I’ve been watching for a couple of years
Ha, I'm from the US and am probably considered far right, but I just love these two, just as many of my friends do!!! Please don't stereotype me!
@@cmcmahon8551 not at all, I’m center-left but love country music too. I just wish everyone was open-minded. Unfortunately Ben and David have shared their hate messages from viewers for their lifestyle “choice”. It is what it is.
@@Epitin I'm far right but don't let silly politics get in the way of a good travel vlog! 😁
I’m a Brit and I drink 98% Earl Grey tea and 2% Mint tea. Carry my bags with me wherever I go 😁 Loving the Alaska series, looks amazing!
Ben and David really are the best, I've followed them for quite a while now.
It is a shame that there are so many sad people in this world that don't support them for being who they are (no it's not a lifestyle choice)
You guys are amazing, you put in so much hard work for your viewers and I really do appreciate it.
Im loving this alaska vlog and cant wait to see your next series
When I was in the Navy, we mixed the instant cocoa packets with our coffee when we stood midwatch. Made it almost drinkable! Just a suggestion.
You two are my absolute favorite cruisers. ❤
Thank you so much for your kind words! We're thrilled to be your favorite cruisers. Your support means a lot to us, and we'll continue to create content that you enjoy. ❤️🚢
One thing to bear in mind with both Alaska and Hawaii is that cost of living is VERY high as compared to mainland US (maybe due to cost of getting supplies to those areas?). This probably impacts cost of excursions pretty significantly.
Well that plus the fact that Alaska has a very short tourism window. They need to get as many sales as possible in the summer because there are no cruises in the winter.
Very true!
Correct. I used to work for one of the cruise lines, and learned firsthand that the costs of supporting and maintaining the ships up in Alaska are exorbitant compared to elsewhere.
Alaska tourism charges 3x the standard price. Its 3 months to make a living and those ships scream tourist. Juneas, ketchican, skagway have mini town that rip off tourists. The stores that sell tanzafuknite says it all. Coifee. Leave the usa and its better
$200 each and they use an old school bus just feels like a complete rip-off. That should've been a coach
Just a tip. You can purchase the flavored instant cappuccino powders to take on your cruises. Doesn't take up much space in packing and when added to nasty coffee it can save your day. Just a teaspoon per cup. Thank me later. Lol.
You can also buy Starbucks packets( like instant coffee) just add water.
Nice idea!!!
This is a great idea!
Thanks for or another great video. We will be in Alaska in 2 weeks. We can't wait.
Great tip. Thanks for sharing.
Great vlog guys! My father graduated HS in Juneau and he always remarked about the extraordinary cost of living. I think he said a gallon of milk or a dozen eggs were around $7-10 each. Their house was just a mile from the glacier in the 1980’s, so him and his siblings would swim in the glacier water every summer. The glacier has receded significantly since then, but that was a huge source of their memories and love for the land. They would fish at 3:00am in the midnight sun during the summer, too.
Just letting you know that I live in Juneau and milk is $3.50, eggs have been a bit higher because of the egg shortage, but again normally around $3.50
Thanks for sharing your cruise on Norwegian. We just returned from our Alaska trip-land and sea on Holland America line. HA has their own hotels and resorts, together with Princess cruises. We were fortunate with great weather. Started the land tour in Anchorage, took a train to Denali, toured by bus to Fairbanks, flu Fairbanks to Dawson. Explored Dawson gold mining area with visit to dredges from 1910. Experienced some gold excavation, from Dawson we went to Whitehorse . Denali we explored the national park, saw moose, sheep and a bear. Our last stop was Skagway prior to boarding the ship. Visited old town and the rainforest park above the city, visited the old Whore house, and the miners cemetery. I advise to all who enjoy walking, check out the local trails prior to booking excursions. Happy travels!
Saying this cruise might be your very favorite of all, is a massive compliment to NCL and Alaska! Ready now, sign me up! xo
These videos are the highlight of my week. I've had the cruise vlogs playlist playing in the background while I work at my new remote job from home, it keeps me so relaxed... and sane lol.
We have an Alaskan cruise booked for May 2024 and are finding you are so right. The excursion are so expensive. Trip is really adding up to be the most expensive ever.
Best excursion in Ketchikan is flightsseeing Over the misty fjords. We have been on several Alaskan cruises. For this we went off the ship and found the flight seeing and bargained the man down For the last two seats on the small plane, seaplane, which landed on a lake. Beautiful. On a cruise like this pick One expensive excursion that involves helicopter or a small plane so you can see what it's like to fly over the beautiful scenery and maybe land on a glacier or somewhere. Then for the other ports, pick one whale watching, and one port where are you walk around the town such as Skagway, and maybe do a bus trip out into the wilderness or go to a salmon bake too. That way you've hit the high points and it's not costing you too much. Definitely book excursions off the ship to save money.
You wouldn't get me up in either. 😂 feet on the ground kind of guy.. 😂😊
Thank you, Ben and David, for helping me get over my fear of taking a cruise. My first cruise is booked for November!!! Love EVERYTHING about the two of you and have recommended your videos to so many people!
Well? How was it?
There are some times when taking the cruise line excursions are worth it. We took a cruise to Mexico and booked an excursion to the Kohunlich Mayan ruins. Two hours into the deep Yucatan and two hours back. We booked through Disney and it was a fortune, but omg it was spectacular and most of all, I felt very safe with the tour operators. They knew what they were doing, were super nice and very knowledgeable.
Thats why i love this channel, you get great company, great scenery, but also good information that leaves you well informed when you book your cruise, great video guys 🚢
Thank you for your wonderful feedback! We're glad you enjoy our channel and find the information helpful for your cruise planning. We'll continue to provide entertaining and informative content for you. Happy cruising! 🚢😊
Just an FYI NCL has put a lot of money into Alaska by redoing their ports and adding shopping centers and parking lots in many of the Alaskan ports 😊
ROFL!! …
“I’m NOT SHARING, this is all mine!”
I can soooooo relate!! It honestly made me laugh so hard!
This has been a fascinating cruise. Thank you both for taking time filming to share it with us.
Take home message for me :
Cruise is really nice!
COFFEE IS HORRIBLE 😂🤣
🎉
Alaska has been my favorite cruise destination so far. Went back in 2016 on Royal Caribbean. For our shore excursion we took a helicopter ride, landed on the Mendenhall Glacier, then hiked across the ice. We had a gorgeous blue sky day. Spectacular views! An experience I will never forget. And sadly, with the rate the glaciers are receding, one I'll probably never get to experience again.
Ben needs to host a food show. Love your food comments!
I love your whole series on Hawaii and Alaska. It was fantastic!!!!
Love this trip. I was there 5 years ago on Holland America.. Great memories. I love the 2 of you. I feel like I'm traveling with family. We did a canoe trip to the glacier so we were able to touch the glacier. This was mid May..
Thank you so much for your kind words! It's wonderful to know that you feel like you're traveling with family when watching our videos. Your canoe trip to the glacier sounds incredible, and touching the glacier must have been an unforgettable experience. Alaska truly offers some amazing memories! 😊🏔️
Thank you for showing us around Juneau. I really enjoyed seeing the shops and the scenery. Also at 5:36 the ship against the backdrop of the mountains looks so beautiful
Ben and David, I really appreciate your honesty about pricing and the good and bad bits about the cruises you're on. Thank you ❤
Darlings!!! I enjoyed this Sunday’s getaway, so much I booked my 2nd Alaska cruise. Your videos never disappoint! Have a lovely week. ♥️
Thank you, darling! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the video and that it inspired you to book another Alaska cruise! Have a fantastic time on your upcoming cruise, and we wish you a wonderful week ahead. ♥️🚢😊
You’ve both inspired me! I’ve never been on a cruise and after watching this video series now actively planning an Alaskan cruise for 2024. I’m so excited 😊
When we were checking into our hotel in Juneau, a mama bear and her cubs just strolled up the streets outside the lobby. If you ever go back to Juneau, try the Tracy Arm tour. It was beautiful.
Wow, that sounds like an incredible experience with the mama bear and her cubs!
When I went through training with Alaska airlines they warned us that we were not allowed to go outside of any hotel and go jogging because unfortunately several flight attendants have been chased by moose!🫎
I just love you guys!!! Fun and beautiful content. Fantastic work guys! Thank you.❤
OMG, those Orcas eat the seals!! The seals are trying to get onto the log to avoid becoming lunch!!! The red water afterwards is a bit depressing tho.
Thank you for taking me back to Alaska. I think I need to make this a yearly trip! Glad you enjoyed it!
Love your videos! You always put a smile on our faces! Thank you!
Absolutely love Ben and David’s vlog! You guys are totally awesome!
Another awesome vlog!! Haven’t done an Alaskan cruise but look forward to it! Spent some time in Alaska when I was flying and enjoyed it! Thank you Ben and David!! You are the best!!
Thank you for your honesty. Love you guys ❤
I was so happy today. It's a new video day! My husband makes the popcorn 🍿 and we sit down and watch the show. We really enjoy your videos! The Alaska trip has been amazing to watch. ❤
Thanks for the feedback! We really appreciate your support and love seeing you enjoy our videos. It means a lot to us that you're part of our journey. Keep the popcorn coming, and we'll keep sharing our adventures with you! 🥰🚢🍿
You guys are fun ! We're going next summer for the first time Thanks for the video !
Such a fantastic vlog series your happiness just radiates through to us certainly now on my cruising list to visit Alaska!!
Your honesty is refreshing.
Love watching you two your so honest and upbeat keep up the good work
Loved this series soooo much. Thank you for sharing 😊
We just cruised on the Spirit to Alaska at the beginning of August. I agree with you on several things, Alaska is extraordinarily beautiful! Norwegian needs to step up their coffee game! They force people to go to Starbucks, which I'm not a big fan of. Alaska does have plenty of coffee shops however. Excursions are so expensive so choose wisely. Many towns are worth just wandering around, you never know who or what you will come across! Great job guys!
Thanks for sharing this amazing cruise with us… I always look forward to your vlogs. Travel safe ❤
Thanks for these tips. Travel safe. Have an amazing week. Cheers.
So glad you enjoyed Alaska. It was a bucket list cruise for me and so worth it.
Thanks for the heads up lads on the Joy next year to Alaska
I LOVE these guys! So fun to watch.
The Alaska cruise season is only about 6 months out of the year so they have to make their money while they can. We did an NCL whale watching tour on a yaught (only 8 people and 2 crew) for about $300 in 2021. It was in September and we saw a ton of whales and sea lions. You were really too early in the year and the whales were still migrating from Mexico (another great place to see them in the winter). Enjoyed your vlogs!
That plus the remoteness of Alaska means anything that is brought in will cost a lot more than in the continental US. Similar to hawaii
Thank you for watching our vlogs and sharing your insights. We appreciate your support and hope you continue to enjoy our content! 😊🚢🐋
Great Video as always. So helpful.
Super entertaining guys!
Really enjoyed this series. I want to go to Alaska now. Thanks guys!
It looked lovely! Thank you for the video!
Watched the patreon version but always watch again here. Always put a smile on my face!! Great work and super informative!!
You're the best! Thank you.
Another wonderful video! Thanks
We loved our cruise to Alaska, thanks for taking us back and letting us hang out with our favorite two cruisers.
Misty Fjord the drag queen? Funny stuff David! 😊
😄 Thanks for watching and hanging out with us on our adventures! 🚢🏔️
I loved that Misty Fjord joke too. Hysterical!
I have been dropping heavy hints about going to Alaska since watching your video - married 33 years this year - husband looking at me like 😱😱😱 he’ll change his mind I’m sure once he’s seen your YT video ❤
Good luck! After 39 years of marriage finally got my husband to agree to AK cruise in 3 weeks.
We booked ax excursion for each port but picked the least expensive ones.
Do you know if there’s any problem with taking some food off the ship for snacks?
Yay the boys are back and definitely need coffee in the morning
This is amazing, I just got off 11 days in Alaska, and we used allot of your suggestions to go by. It felt nice to see the video of yours and dream that we were all in the same place. It was an amazing cruise, Thanks for your suggestions
If you’re spending $3,000 on excursions, please consider an Alaskan cruise with Regent/Seven Seas. EVERYTHING is included, including air transportation. All excursions are included (they have done excursions that do cost $ too)
I'm with David. No coffee, no talkie!🤭☕👍👍 I love that you got to ride in an "American school bus." It's the little unexpected experiences that make for a really special trip.❤
New video from Ben and David!? I am here for it and ready to treat myself!
Go for it!
Hi guys 😮 love your video's and Alaska was one our of best so far. Hope your on the Celebrity Silhouette next week to Iceland and Ireland.😊
What a journey that must of been. Enjoyed the videos! 🎉
We love these guys, always entertaining. We've cruised to Alaska three times. First with NCL, then HAL and Princess. The first time we thought it would be a once in a lifetime event so we booked excursions that we thought we would never do again because of their costs. We flew helicopter up onto the Sawyer glacier, walked around on the glacier and watched the glacieal water run beneath our feet! Then we Zip Lined down a mountain with stops in the trees where we could watch bears below in the forest. Oh, and the whale tours!!!! Yes, we did those each time we went back and was always very lucky to see many whale sightings and several BREACHES! We kayaked across a bay over to an island once, booked a bike ride (20+ miles downhill) down from the Yukon border to Skagway. Oh, and so much more adventures. So glad we did it when we were a bit younger. I recommend going back again and again. There is always something new and different to do and see.
Another fabulous vlog, thank you for sharing. Love earl grey tea so does my 11 year old grandson 😊 xx
I love this series! Otters are my favorite animal!!!🦦🦦🦦❤️
David! We always love your comments but Earl Grey Tea? We love it!!! And from the uk x
Love Alaska, the red dog saloon is brilliant 😊
So glad you went to the falls, we going to book this excursion for this summer.
I enjoy watching you guys showing all what the world has to offer. ❤️❤️😍🤗
You two are so fun to watch ! ....and i love early grey tea lol
Allen Tours is the way to go for whale watching!
Lovely watching Stef’s vlog of this, with you cheeky boys in the background 😂
We like your videos a lot. You guys are very good at showing us the things we want and need to know to go cruise again! We took the Mendenhall Glacier Float Trip when we combined our cruise with Expo '86 in Vancouver, BC
Great Videography guys . Enjoyed
I have been to Alaska 3 times and Hawaii once. Your videos have brought back great memories. You both make me laugh so much. Thanks!
Hi Ben and David, my husband and I have just watched all of your Hawaii-Alaska videos in one go and enjoyed them very much, thank you! We are doing this cruise, but in reverse, in September - I think we'll have more stops in Alaska than in Hawaii, and it's a bit disappointing for my hubby that we won't be going to Kona (he's a big coffee drinker), but we are looking forward to it all. You've done a great job of describing everything, and we especially loved your take on the food. We were on a Norwegian Spirit cruise in the Med in 2018, so we are very much looking forward to seeing all the changes.
Thanks again for a great series, we've subscribed and we'll take a look at the rest of your videos - you really are very good at this!! Greetings from Ottawa, Canada.
Love watching your vlogs guys ❤
Love your vids! I'm one of those shuttle/bus drivers for Ward Cove running people into Ketchikan this summer! Wish you hadn't come so early in the season, before I got here! 7 miles into Ketchikan and we try to give great commentary all the way! You were lucky to be on one of NCL's smaller ships, the Bliss and Encore get a much shorter day in Ketchikan.
We use Shore Excursions Group our tours that we had in Alaska were a fraction of the cruise line. It always depends on what you want to do. Shore Excursions deals with the locals directly. We enjoyed the tours we did through them.
Brings back memories just left in June
Awesome video! Alaska is on my bucket list. Only time I've been to Alaska was on my way to Japan back in 1986 when I was moving there as one of my US Navy duty stations. Only was in Anchorage a few hours, kept thinking I wanted to see more of Alaska. I loved all the beautiful video you showed, was so breathtaking.
The food you were making my mouth water❤️
the film quality at minute 10:47 is wonderful!! I'm watching on my computer on full screen and the shot of the whale and then of David is so professional. your vids are great and I look forward to watching every week!
Thank you so much for the kind words
‘Gentle Ben’ was a US children’s series about a lovely friendly bear. Our Ben seems even lovelier and friendly 😂 Great vlog as always in your company fellas 😊 and lovely looking dinner. Huge dinner with a huge pizza as ‘appetizer’ ! Wobbly bolognese would’ve done me.
I love you guys. I'm an American who has been to 49 of our states. Thank you for bringing me along to STATE #50!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤
I’m 100% British and I only really drink Marquis Grey Tea (a close relative of EGT) , but I only know a few other people who drink it😊. Thanks for all the entertaining and informative vids!
Nice! Ben's rendition of a cowboy coming out of that Saloon sounded just like comic Genius Benny Hill when he would do a bit as an old west cowboy. Classic!
We just moved back to the west coast-ish from Pennsylvania. We're from Seattle and we cannot wait to be able to drive to either Seattle or Vancouver and hop on a cruise to Alaska! I truly have enjoyed this series from you guys! Thank you for all your work putting these together for our viewing pleasure.
In case you didn't know you can also take a ferry from Bellingham to Alaska and you can camp out on the deck in your tent.
It's supposed to be really fun.
I took a cruise to Alaska with princess Cruise line for my mother's 80th Bday. It was fun. I also used to go and fly to Alaska quite often for work because I worked with a large watch company. Had a bunch of accounts from the cruise ships and other Jewelers in the area.
My little tip to everyone do not grow to the cruise gift shops and the crewship ran gift shops on the main drag of every port.
Find the local guy who's struggling to make ends meet and buy your products and services from them..
They're going to be a little deeper into town because they can't afford be right on front street. That's all pretty much cruise ship people and people who are there to gouge tourists. If you go a little deeper into town a little bit off that beaten path are all those other stores. You will find the native shop owners and they are phenomenal people!
OK that pizza looks amazing. May have to book the Spirit for that alone! Thanks for the fantastic travelogue on this Hawaii/Alaska trip. It was just spectacular!
Love watching your videos. ❤
Thank you so much!
Great video! I am planning an Alaskan cruise with a friend of mine in July 2024. This video has lots of interesting information and tips on how to cruise.
Great video!!!!!
After years of traveling with RCL and experiencing the Haven - holy cow, I loved my 3-bedroom Villa and butler service. I’m spoiled and looking forward to my next cruise with NCL on the Gem.
The Gold Belt Tram has a beautiful museum and restaurant at the top that goes with the ride.
Love ya'll! You've really hit your stride! I'm interested and entertained from start to finish. And usually hungry for pastries and desserts. LOL
Good point on the shore excursions. I felt the train trip out of SKAGWAY WAS WORTH IT. BEST TO GO ON YOUR OWN.
Excellent information regarding the cost. Have been to both 12 day Hawaiian Cruise and 8 day Alaskan cruise. Along with the Hotels pre and post and Airfare..it is very expensive, not to mention cabin upgrades. But well worth the experience 😊 and YES you both are the BEST Cruise influencers on TH-cam.
Awesome I have decided to book an Alaska cruise thanks so much
Great end to this long cruise, and now you guys are in Iceland!
Anyway, our best cruiser friends are taking the opposite of this cruise in September, back from Alaska to Hawaii. I must tell them to watch this whole series in reverse order! They also lucked out and saw a price drop on a suite after their final payment, so they jumped on it and will cruise in style!
Thanks guys! Alaska is on my bucket list.
