with the help of UserTCQ, I was able to mod JSAB and get access to a chapter of the game that was removed due to not meeting quality standards.
I will not provide any information on how to mod Just Shapes and Beats, this way we are all safe from modders in multiplayer.

In my head cannon this happened years before the actual story, explaining the origins of new fresh, and the cube we play as is a descent of the cube in the video. And the actual tutorial we got was a vision for what was to come.

I always thought that the little square guys were a line of guardians or something protecting the world from the pink corruption, but it's been a long time since Blix got locked away so they forgot he was down there, hence taking the triangle to the little friend in the cave to try and heal it.

It's sad that this didn't make it into the game but I kinda feel like there's still more lore to blixer than is showed like what's that hole he came through and other stuff alot of that is not showed. and they could've made like a separate game that sorta like shows more lore in like the back ground and stuff.

probably another reason they removed this is: Why would they go back into the same cave the monster that attacked them is buried under crystals in and use a triangle on a wiggler that looks suspiciously like said monster's arm, which was left out of the crystals when he was buried? it'd also completely remove the surprise factor of his return.

Why did they scrap that part with blixer chasing you upwards cause that’s AWESOME I wish this was in the game cause after playing the whole thing and getting a S on every story mode level it gets boring I mean yeah jsab is my favorite game ever I am a veteran of it but it gets boring
after watching the chapter a couple times, I can see why they took it out. it kind of slows down the story.
by removing it, the game as a whole is cleaner and better paced.
it is all about hooking the playing in the first few minutes and it is a lot of cave stuff in the removed chapter.
ThatLostGamer I would like if they add this like a sercet and the player can open this by completing the story mode :D
My assumption is that after scrapping that part they made the vertical climb section that ended up in the final game

@@kirbogdiconguy82 No, Long Live The New Fresh was confirmed as blixer bossfight in Pax South 2015 and Yokuman Stage & Paper Dolls are also available as trial stage in Pax South 2015, there's no milky ways on it.
Sugar Rush is playing when you complete the level in playlist/challenge, so it's officially unused now as a level.

Why was this chapter scrapped? It adds so much story to the game, like why Cube is sad, how Blixer got out of the boss level and got trapped under those crystals, a better explanation for how the Tree was created.
Edit: I guess maybe it was scrapped because they would've needed a few bosses to keep with the usual "three levels then a boss" pattern, or would've had to remove a few songs and reduce their ending to a button press.
Edit 2: I just now thought to read the description, and now I'm wondering what those "quality standards" are.
It is because they are busy so they scraped it but now is added with a new boss which has the under tale song spider danve
As you could tell there were a few missing textures so they probably could not finish it in time

The missing song turned out to be an undertale collab, that was unexpected
That explains why the beginning is so short.
Also, it is possible this chapter was not used as they could not get the permission to use some songs they expected to be able to, resulting in them having to take out a chapter.

I knew this was removed since a long time ago, but now after i get to see what this chapter actually is, im kind of sad that this has been scrapped. I think they talked about something the related to progression. But still this would’ve been a great addition to both the backstory and the amount of story mode levels. Let’s hope that maybe they could bring it back as dlc or in a future update relating to story mode

They reused it on Final Boss
stickminflame I realized later that they used the climbing animation in Final Boss, but I had thought he was actually flying and just flailing his arms around for the heck of it :P Blixer making all of his minions pile on top of each other so he can use them as a ladder is hilarious.
@@Null-value this scene: the boss climbs the cave by stepping on ledges, possibly was lucky sometimes, cause his toe barely made it
final boss fight: a difference, the boss removed his legs cause of the plants in the scene, they are grabbable for the boss, so it makes sense
the small boss fight to the top was EPIC
This is actually really good. I would have loved to see some parts and aspects of this in the actual game. I think I still prefer the normal version of the game over this, but parts of this (definitely the boss at 6:52) probably should have stayed in the game

I have a theory. What if Cube is sacrficed by other shapes? Maybe it's a sacrifice to the Beast (Blixer). And also parts of Sacred Tree in that cave... That would explain how Cube got locked in a cage, why it so sad and don't want its savior to leave

i made an au like eight months ago, and a lot of stuff im working on got freaking yeeted by this.
like i'd theorized that The Boss had attacked the Tree before, thus LLTNF, then got imprisoned in the mountains, more or less similarly to here (except yknow.. they had to bring him to the mountain.) I think it's close, but.. it didnt include whatever that Blixer artifact is.
but this puts a whole new spin on things! i'm going to wind up making an AU of my AU where things are similar but definitely not the same. MASSIVE changes, because a focal point in the story was that The Boss was almost a pawn to the truly powerful people- mostly The Tree and it's offspring. basically it makes heroes to defeat threats to it, which can then go 'plant' themselves and become trees, though they are definitely lesser gods. (then one hero got upset with the tree, decided fuk u and made corruption, thus that.)
but uh. another thing was that The Boss lived a pretty normal life until Milky Ways, LG and Chronos convinced him to go eat the tree.
and uh, now im either going to have change his past completely, or just settle for an au of an au- actually, now that i think about it, it would only have *similar* setting and worldbuilding stuff in comparison, because i'd detailed so much that this just wont work. so it would br a standalone au.
