They had traditional music playing and the family that owned it was really sweet. They thought I was cute so I'd get extra cookies or tea. I get such nostalgia listening to this playlist.
I had a similar experience, it was a restaurant called Fong's.... the owner taught me chinese and he was dear to me, eventually he sold his restaurant to a man who could not manage it properly and fong's went out of business.
Same lol my gma loved our local Chinese restaurants in Desert Hot Springs, CA. We grew up not having much money so we absolutely loved eating out, especially at our local Chinese restaurant. So many great memories. Now I find my stretching to this music
I have found that Confucius seems to be correct in his representation of ancient Chinese philosophy, including in his claim of representing the really ancient dynasties like the Xia. 仁 (ren), which means benevolence (or even "love", because the etymological root of this mean "heart" or "brain") is essentially the core of the Confucian way of thinking. All the other tenets (or almost all the other tenets) find their roots in this virtue. And I believe that just about all scholars and even just students of ancient China (including myself) consider the Confucian thought "儒家" to be the best representation and basis of this beautiful civilization. This is key, because it means that, by extension, benevolence is the key or the fundamental principle of all China going back 5,000 years, and that is absolutely amazing.

This music is so beautiful...it reaches my soul. I'm Caucasian from northern Europe and this scale of music is so powerful that it reaches the Soul of a human being and leads you love, sorrow, and compassion. I love this music. This a really great composition, and plus the instruments create such meaningfulness that the emotions that this music creates goes beyond the soul to the divine and the soul of the divine. Yet, it is immediate to the soul of what it is to be chinese -- the heart of the experience of what it is to be humanly chinese -- love, sorrow, tragedy, triumph, compassion, failure, etc. Thank you for this awesome music and contribution to humanity. I am in awe and my heart bows down to your musical/divine thought

I learned to appreciate Chinese traditional music , got so addicted with Chinese custome movies . The Chinese has a very rich culture . Older than the Roman Empire . I envy my Son who have seen the rich Chinese culture. He was fortunate to travel in Beijing. Have seen the Great Walls , The Teracota Warriors, The Forbidden City and more like the tombs of the emperor and the nobles . The modern Shanghai .
