Hello friend! It's been a joy to have you along on this pantry challenge journey! 😍Thanks for visiting! Check out BetterLivingOnABudget & have a blessed day!
I saw the peppers in your freezer. I am enjoying a puree of onions, mini sweet peppers, and olive oil, just ran it through the blender, bagged it flat and froze it. All needed to be used and would have been wasted had I not moved it to the freezer. This is a ready made shortcut item for any soup, casserole, skillet dish. Just knock some off in the size you need, since it is oil...it didn't freeze rock hard. Next time I do this I'm going to make sure I have garlic. And sometimes I switch out the bell peppers for jalapenos.
Awww, thanks for the shout-out, April!! Wow, you did such a great job clearing through your freezers!!! Isn't it ironic how putting stuff into bins in the freezer suddenly makes them seem so much more user-friendly? I can't readily see what's in there, but it's so much easier to pull out a bin and comb through it, then to have stuff sliding out and banging my toes while I'm on the hunt, lol. That is so smart to designate a left-overs/freezer meals area. I am in LOVE with your ice cream freezer!! Goals!😍
Any time, thanks for inspiring me with your bins and ultra organization!😍 I'm hooked and don't think I'll ever go back to not having them. I'll be so happy for you when you're finally able to make the move to Kansas City to be closer to family, maybe an ice cream freezer will be in your future after the move. The funny story behind the freezer, whenever we moved after losing everything, we needed EVERYTHING! The goal was to take it one step at a time and be grateful for EVERYTHING The Lord Provided. As a result of supply chain issues the ice cream freezer was the only freezer in stock & available for purchase. So we said... ok, an ice cream freezer it is, thank you Lord for an ice cream freezer! I must say I've come to appreciate the see through sliding doors.
You are such a sweetheart, thank you for your prayers for my goal to move to KC to be with family!! @@ggintennessee ❤❤ Isn't it a beautiful thing how being grateful for all the things that come to us - even those that don't seem exactly like what we had in mind - leads to unexpected joy and opening new doors we hadn't thought we'd see? Even see-thru freezer doors, lol.
You did so good in that pantry challenge! I can’t believe your freezer drawers were so empty!🤩 There is a banana pudding recipe that uses chessman cookies AND sweetened condensed milk that you might like to try to help you use up your pantry items.
Thanks Angel! So happy you stopped by to watch and comment. Overall the pantry challenge was a wonderful experience. 🍌Banana Pudding sounds wonderful, I think I may make some for Easter. Have a great day!
Did you know you can make a chocolate cake with sauerkraut! It is so good. Also you could use almost everything in your freezer that you showed you cleaned, to make pizzas and pizza sticks ( serve with homemade tomato soup).
Thanks for the tip! Very interesting chocolate cake with sauerkraut? I’d love to try it. Do you have a recipe or can you share how much sauerkraut you usually use? Never thought of cabbage being as versatile as zucchini but wow, it sounds like it is!

Absolutely!!! ❤
I like her idea of a basket of what to eat through the week.
Thanks Amanda! Hopefully, it’ll make it easier to keep rotating & using up food we already have, helping us spend less & save more!
What a great idea using baskets to organize the freezer. I do need to do this. Every time I open my freezer I have to dodge falling meat packs 😂
The same thing was happening to me, lol!😂

Thanks awesome
Hi Brenda. Thanks, it's so wonderful to now have some freezer organization. Did you participate in the pantry challenge this year?
