  • November 9th, 2002 is a day LSU football fans will never forget. Quarterback Marcus Randall's 75-yard prayer was answered by Devery Henderson, as the Tigers defeated the Kentucky Wildcats 33-30 on the final play of the game. In this piece Randall, Henderson, Michael Clayton, Randall "Blue" Gay, Jack Hunt and Eric Edwards gather to relive the play 10 years later. The LSU football team won an ESPY that season for the play of the year in all of sports.

    I love how the broadcasters flash the Final Kentucky 30 LSU 27 score then quickly retracting it. Seems like LSU was the only people in the stadium playing for 60 minutes.

    I WAS THERE!!! I was physically at that game, and I still have my ticket from that game! To this day, it was the most amazing game I've ever been to! I can still remember being sad when I thought the game was over, the swarm of blue Kentucky fans running down to storm the field, and then out of nowhere, you see this gold bullet of a helmet running all the way to the end zone... Exhilarating!

He said he thought we lost after the field goal so he was coming over to hang out. He heard us screaming like crazy and the trailer rocked. We were all going crazy just jumping around in the living room. My brother and I kept pointing out to our Mom "I told you so!" We actually missed the kickoff and delay of game because we were still convincing her to change the channel back to the game.

She was so mad that day and we had given up and we’re about to change channel when it happened. My sister went dead still for a few seconds then jumped on top of my tv, then took off running thru room towards front door and didn’t stop to open the door! Just busted thru the glass door and glass went everywhere and she ran into the yard yelling and screaming and jumping around! It was so much fun! I know Cannons earthquake and Florida’s earthquake games are talked about as most legendary but nothing in my opinion will EVER stop this and play by that team! Based on what I could see from this clip and others, Randall let go of the ball on the LSU 17-1/2 yard line and Henderson made contact with it on the Kentucky 18-1/2 yard line. That's 64 yards in flight. The reason I point this out is even among the biggest arms in the NFL (and throughout the years) there are but a few QBs who can throw a ball 60 yards or more, and I doubt there's anyone in today's game who can. Probably Elway was the only one who could consistently do it. In today's game the typical average is around 55-57 yards. A hell of a throw by Randall.

    • @brickboo1
      @brickboo1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      On one of those QB contest some years back, Elway and Marino struggled to throw about 60 to 65 yards. Bret Favre came out and just grabbed the ball 2 or 3 times and threw it and it was right at 75 yards on one of the throws. Believe it or not Randall Cunningham threw it 85 yards.

Setting off fireworks before the time is up? Fans running out on the field while a play is still in progress? The huge let down is their own fault.
