ALL FICTION. From movie, "Gifted" (2017), drama film directed by Marc Webb and written by Tom Flynn. It stars Chris Evans, Mckenna Grace, Lindsay Duncan, Jenny Slate and Octavia Spencer.
My parents were told that I would be unlikely to pass my 11+ test to go to grammar school but I did. I am not exceptional at any particular subject but during my working life seemed to quickly understand ideas and concepts that others struggled with. I still didn’t regard myself as anything special but took the Mensa test out of interest and was classed in the top 1%. This ability has overall proved very useful but can be a problem being several steps of virtually everyone around you when viewing or analysing situations. It doesn’t always make social conversations easy!
It’s a fictional movie, and as inartful as the AI narration is, it’s not an entirely inaccurate explanation of the story the movie is called “Gifted”, starring Chris Evans and McKenna Grace.
I was a special education student till 5 grade , and after 12 grade, i went to work as a mechanical maintenance man and retired, running most of a paper sheeting plant
Mckenna Grace, who was so outstanding as young Tonya Harding in I, Tonya (2017), started acting at age 5 and making major motion pictures before she turned 7. She was 10 when she did I, Tonya. As of January 2025, she has already made 22 movies and has 5 more coming out, plus she's been in 33 tv shows, with recurring roles in 7, including Young Sheldon and The Handmaid's Tale, and a main role in The Haunting of Hill House. She also did a made-for-tv remake with Rob Lowe of The Bad Seed, playing the lead role and at age 16 co-wrote and helped produce a sequel: The Bad Seed Returns, again in the lead role as Emma. (In the original 1956 movie, based on the 1954 play based on the 1954 novel by William March, the unsettlingly polite psychotic serial killer child who would murder anyone who crossed her was named Rhoda, played by Patty McCormack). Mckenna Grace is only 20 years old now and her career is already nearly impossible to follow. She also writes music and directs and stars in her own music videos, inspired by none other than Taylor Swift. She is truly gifted.
The 6 year old son of one of my fellow paramedics couldn't understand why his teacher marked one of the words on his spelling test wrong. The word was "flow". He went to the school with his son and spoke to his teacher, asking why she marked his son's spelling of flow as incorrect. After the teacher continued to insist that his son misspelled the word, he asked her to use the word in a sentence. She replied, "You pick up a broom and sweep the flow." It's like you have to learn a new language when you live in the south.
Shame about the annoying, unnecessary background noise that distracts from the important narrative of the video. For this reason, I cannot share for fear of putting my associates through the same agony I suffered watching it.
I am a teacher and I have dyslexia. I always tell my children that I’m going to make mistakes and salad and if you could buy them in the dictionary, you get a point years later years later, one of my students who was devil grown up, met me and my children had a record store. I did recognize them of course because he was a grown-up, but he turned to my children and said do you know what your mother played the best game, she pretended like she could spell and if we found it in the dictionary, we were good. Kids started laughing like crazy. She doesn’t spell however I have continuously gotten the awards for a gifted teacher.
Does the movie reveal whether the daughter's solution was ever submitted, giving the daughter the recognition she deserved for her solution? I am speaking here about the little girl's mother who passed, and who was the grandmother's daughter.
We don't actually know wtf Newton's IQ was because that test came out in the 20th century, not in Newton's era. An estimated IQ isn't the same thing as actual testing for IQ. High IQ is also no guarantee of future success or amazing discoveries.
I'm like well graph theory, if you know extra information then instead of doing it like building a linear graph, where ordering is building off another node as you go forward, one could reorganize the set, and search in a subset. That extra information could cut run times down by a lot. Stuff I wake up thinking about. Mathematically, set of all graphs has a covering, and a useful covering could help partition the elements in a way that empowers another algorithm to converge fast. So what computer science may think is a hard problem, if you got a really good partitioning of elements, could become easy fast solvable problems.
Im 77. For decades it was said the highest IQ known was around 180ish. Now all these kids have in incredible IQs. A lot of people can do this with arithmetic. IQ higher than Newton. What a bunch of BS!
Some one stated we don't know Newton's IQ as the test was not yet created. However the test is created using his theories along with Einstein's theories and other theories of other geniuses. I did not pass the 9th grade and yet scored near perfect on my GED at 16. I took the ASVAB at 22 and scored a 98, or top 3 percent however you want to look at it. I never went to college. Never had an IQ test but I play chess 5 moves ahead for fun. I bank all of my shots on a pool table just for practice and run the table 58 percent of the time. Honestly I can build anything I've designed and built many things that will outlast man kind. I am not a genius, I'm just blessed.
I have my IQ tested, at the hospital, twice a year. Guess why? I would say, that IF things are as you posted, then you should have your IQ tested. I think you are in for a shock, that will deflate your ego somewhat. You seem to suggest that anyone with a high IQ is NOT BLESSED?
@Demun1649 absolutely not I believe personally that I am NOT a genius. I just believe that I am blessed just to be writing these few words, I am supposed to be dead according to science. But for some reason I just won't die. I have not intentionally tried to hurt myself, it's the life I was dealt. So as far as my heart and soul is concerned, I Am BLESSED. I don't want an IQ test. Why would I? Who cares? For in the old days the only thing that mattered was the character of a man, a man with a weak character was a liability, a man with a strong, ethical and moral countenance was more likely to be a stable friend that he might be able to rely on in hard times. Intelligence would not have been a paramount desire in the friendship, unless of course one was fed by a silver spoon. I hope you have a life as blessed as mine.💗
@@Demun1649 I do not have an ego, I can prove everything I said. I am blessed. Why do you have your IQ tested twice a year? I am only curious. If you felt I was gloating about my life you would be very wrong. I do not have a narcissistic bone in my body. I lived homeless for many years, not because I was forced, I just could not stand working for condescending humans who thought that their life was more important than mine, dictating to me how I should live my life or their time was not worthy of the likes of me. You know the type, those who, at the end of the day could, without factual evidence destroy a 20 year career with nothing more than their influence and bald faced lies. God bless you friend.

There is so much BS in movies, nobody should be watching them anymore. The distribution of IQ and of personality traits along the Bell curve in boys and girls clearly shows the girls to be more concentrated towards the middle, and the boys to be more outliers, both in the positive and in the negative. Which makes the storyline of this movie a non-starter. Propaganda is dangerous, for it leads to things like communism, with disastrous consequences for society. Or DEI, with disastrous consequences for society. And all kind of other bullshit, like the above movie. Say no bullshit. Here and always.

You're correct, fiction no doubt. But I did watch the movie and it was a good movie, I enjoyed it. :)
I caught errors in my teacher’s presentation of spelling, the actual existence of words, and grammar in third grade.
So are you some kind of genius too ?
@ in some ways I am
But mostly I am just a regular old lady with the job of grammar police

Can I get your autograph ?
The little girl Mckenna Grace grew up to be a lovely beautiful friendly polite young lady.
Most teachers I've meet, especially at the grade school level, would have to run back to her desk to check to make sure 9 plus 8 was indeed 17.
so sad-but true
Name of movie. Is "gifted"
Thanks
It made no sense. The Human Torch didn't want her to go to a FREE advanced school but was good at giving her away to "foster parents"?!
If you haven't seen this movie do so, it's a must see. "Gifted"
“The grandmother, herself a gifted mathematician, finally takes an interest in her granddaughter …” at this point, I knew this story was bunk.

For a girl as precocious as she was -- and still is -- the ambience of MIT would be truly ideal

When I saw this film years ago it occurred to me that when she wrote "QED" on the blackboard she should have followed it with a smiley face.

this would be much better if the actors spoke their lines and we , and we did away with the commentary
There's really no reason for the narration, listening to the movie would have been nice...and much better.

Why dont we just watch the scene without the narrative.
