Intriguing. Here is a what if - Alabama beats Georgia , Florida Beats Fl. St. , Ducks beats Huskies , Michigan beats Ohio St.? Maybe the same but Ohio St. beats Michigan? Alabama beats Georgia , Huskies win , Michigan beats Ohio St. , Florida beats Fl. St.? There's so many different What If's - Sure some are more likely then others. Can any of the outcomes lead to 2 pac-12 teams in?
I've given up on the CFP committee and the system. They should just do away with the national championship and rankings. It's gotten so political it doesnt matter anymore.
Easiest solution for a playoff which removes polls from equation! Create either 4 or 8 major conference with two divisions each Last week of November, would be the 1st round with each conference having a conference championship game. The conference champions then would play on New Years in traditional Bowl Games. Then the winners play for the Championship. The key, win your division to get in.
Not it doesn’t the 4 seed has only won one natty anyway. If you want to make it go undefeated. There’s nothing illegitimate about voting in teams. Every sport does that
The CFP committee put themselves in this situation with uneven application of metrics to teams. One team is there because they were there last year, another is undefeated so it must be there, one passes the smell test, one the eye test, another based on potential, and so on. Since they have been so irregular, it is hard to explain why the same metrics are not used for another team because of a win/loss now. It is supposed to be about the BEST four teams in the country and what they have done is allow outside influences drive their choices such as markets, matchups, pro-bias, & anti-bias to put them in a virtual corner.
The one team you're talking about is there because they are on a 28 straight game winning streak. Your team is likely one of those teams. And to quote the nature boy, "to be the man, you must beat the man."
You can't put a 1 lose Alabama in over a 1 lose Texas. If Bama gets in then so should Texas. In head to head it's Texas over Bama. Even if Bama beats Georgia. Just me
Texas outranks Alabama in your opening scenario. Michigan might have the better loss, as compared to Texas, Alabama or Georgia provided Ohio State is number 1, and they lose by less than 10 or so points. That was the margin of victory in the Texas v. Alabama game.

And texas beat bama so itd have to be osu texas bama and georiga by that logic so id have no sec teams bc they all pac 12ed osu washington texas and not fsu they losing
and what about Liberty and James Madison going undefeated. i believe they might claim they deserve a shot at the championship since theyre undefeated. they might as even go as far as throwing a lawsuit on the NCAA for not choosing them. i admit they each had a weak schedule but they beat who ever was on that schedule which might give them the shot because some of these one loss teams played a weak schedule

Voting teams in is ridiculous and makes for an illegitimate playoff

I'm positive that the best team has won every playoff championship.
@@Bravesfan12345voting in is an opinion and we all know about opinions, i say Conference Champs only in the playoffs

Well said!
I agree hopefully next year with 12 teams will help limit the bias on who gets in.
