My rear hatch lowor handle got "gummed" up so the vehicle was constantly thinking the handle was pulled in. I took the handle out completely, broke it down into its individual little parts and cleaned it with soap and water. Then lubed it up and put it back together. It works like a charm now!
Yeah! That's what I'm saying. These cars are built pretty awesome. Most of the time you can fix the part that broke. That had been true for me with the steering wheel, the barrel on the ignition, and the piece that connects the shift cable to the shift selector. 325,000 miles still going strong.
One thing I recommend is covering any exposed gas lines with rubber gasket to protect them from corrosion. One little bare section meant I had to replace the whole line which was otherwise fine.
@salemcripple You're right i agree with you, this fly by wire is making things more complicated...which is why you gotta keep up today's technology and sharpen your electrical diagnosis skills. Really this is where the money is because alot of the automotive systems are 'drive by wire' nowadays..(Brakes, Steering, Throttle,etc...)--You know??
@salemcripple That's true i agree with you on this also, but if you can beat them join them..These cars are coming out with drive by wire through out the car and they're gonna keep coming out so might as well learn to work on it and make some money....i guess it's kinda like when Fuel Injection started coming out and carburetors were seen less and less..Now Fuel injection took over and we had to get used to it... you feel me?!
@salemcripple pt2.... all it takes is one misplaced line of code (a "1" where a "0" should be), or one loose wire. And Huston you've got a problem. And a computer can't cope with failure.
@AutoTechHector As a tech myself i know this is where the money is. But in my opinion, they're making stuff electronic nowadays that has no business being so. there is no point for it. Take the throttle, brakes and steering. These are the three that if they fail, people can get killed. The old systems worked well enough, and furthermore there was almost no way for them to fail. And a human operator could compensate for any kind of failure. When you make a computer do the same job,
my 2006 endeavor has the rear tailgate problem (will not open), checked the handle and it is bad. called the dealer for a price. WOW-- $150.00 for a piece of plastic.
Thank you for video, this is very interesting and useful for me.Maybe you know the automobile Mitsubishi outlander XL 2011 what used in Europe ? Well, I got that car and have some problem with a rear door. The flip side of the back door is opened very hard. How to fix it, please explain me.thank you very match.
How do I get to the upper switch? And how do we know if the problem is the actuator rather than a switch? Test the switches first and if they're both good, figure it's the actuator? If I manually open the glass hatch, when I go to close it, I hear the lock trying to lock, but it won't lock until I push the plastic on the glass hatch. Then it won't open with either switch.
I never got a reading on the new lower latch switch but it still worked . The switch is odd , it has a silicon type component on the inside and the hand push switch has a magnet and when you pull up on the hand switch it moved the magnet closer to the component and some how send s a signal to the computer. odd very odd. Does anyone know how it works because its not a simple contact switch .
The switch does NOT make contact with the ground. It makes contact with power, otherwise it can't send a signal to the controller. By definition, ground is dead, i.e. no power. What is wrong with this guy? And what the hell is "outer limits"? For crying out loud.
With all the "hype" about..computers...& how they were, "SUPPOSED" to..make things..all in all..EASIER. But..when a friggin "high-tech" computer..is IN-capable of "knowing" if a switch "door, lift-gate etcetera" is..or, is NOT, open..or closed... It makes me..quite..glad..that when that first "manned" mission to Mars takes place..that.."""I""..will NOT be on it..
You are a lifesaver! I had a piece of a plastic grocery bag get caught in the back window, which then refused to open. Thank you so much.
you are welcome, glad it helped
This repair is the exact problem I was experiencing, kudos for the help
you honestly saved me time and money, thank you so much for making this video
Great tutorials, they have been real helpful to me. Thamk you and keep them coming.

This helped me with a 2007. Thanks.

Thank u u give a good explanation
Excellent video !!!!! Guess you never did the video explaining the wiring diagram; would have been great to have that.
Great video. Keep them coming. Rich
Found this 11 years later🤣
when people know what they are doing. thanks

Any suggestions on the non a/c water leaks on drivers side front floor.🤔
Did you find the answer?
awesome! Thanks for sharing this!
When you shut the glass the last time, it would have been funny if you shit your fingers in it. Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha

BTW The video was great!
Great video...what setting do you you use on the multimeter?

Good video. But what ever happened to the simple rods with mechanical releases?? This "fly by wire" stuff is getting out a hand if you ask me.
thanks for the video is really good, but my problem is the glass swich, what number is this part?
How about a video on how to replace the drivers door harness to the fuse box on the dash pannel? None of my locks or windows will work.
Do you have steps to remove the front side door panel and push up a window that wont come back up in its own
Any way to repair the switch?
Detail: Where is the video explaining the switch circuitry in more detail as promised in the current video?
i have a 04 endeavor wont start it only cranks but wont turn over would you happen to know what it could be?
You didn't show how to remove the trim panel
what shop are you at? License plate was from Missouri
Is there a way to get the hatch open on a 2011 endeavor? I hear it working but wont release. Tried everything.

How can i replace wipor switch with toggle switch
Bueno
