Too bad it wasn't real. If you disbelieve and want to argue, I ask you only: first rewatch, for real. Moynihan didn't goof; quite the opposite. He's a *good actor*.
Wow, didn’t realize how much I missed Bobby until now. When he called Colin Seth I had to pause the video because I laughed so hard and didn’t want to miss the rest lol
3:18 - He's partially reciting the 1988 McDonald's contest that came on a small, squared shaped, paper-thin, flexi-disc record where if the singers finished the entire menu jingle without screwing up, you'd win a million dollars. My older brother had one of the "screw up" records.
Incredible. Totally did not know this. Since the mid-90s I recognized this as a deep cut from Skee-Lo (of “I Wish” fame). Go listen to Skee-Lo- The Burger Song. Thought that’s what Bobby was referencing and am shook too have discovered this comment 😂

the conflation of the 1980s mcdonald's "hopscotch" commercial with "we didn't start the fire" was both hilarious and brilliant, and so perfect for a gen-x drunk uncle.😂😂😂
I assumed it was either scripted or a great improv’d line I felt like it was too perfect/part of the characterization to do by mistake and not miss a beat but if so even more pro level 😩❤️
@@LeshaAnn - It goes without saying (or so I thought): John Belushi -- in particular, his memorable Update rants. I can't recall anything his brother did on the show.
I really enjoy that Bobby went on from SNL to quietly become a very entertaining and family friendly voice actor for millions of children, and never lost a single step along the way. I believe he’s still got _huge_ things ahead of him.
It was a brilliant moment. I only wish Colin were in the shot so we could see his reaction. The in-studio audience gets a difference experience because they see it all.
Im sure its planned cuz he did call Seth Amy and Tina, since he started this character with Seth and he did do drunk uncle when Colin started weekend update
I think Bobby legit didn’t notice that he called Colin Seth, he was just in the moment, but it worked with the character. He’s a modern day Daniel Day Lewis
There's a 0% chance it was an accident. It's not the first time that joke has been made. In earlier segments he's called Seth "Amy." and other Weekend Update characters have done the same joke over the years.
When both Tom Hanks and Bobby Moynihan appeared in separate sketches, social media immediately began speculating the return of David S. Pumpkins. They were not disappointed.
I just saw Bobby on Seth Meyer's Show a Month ago, always Liked anything he does, but especially Drunk Uncle- after watching him with Seth, I re-watched the Drunk Uncle Compilation (again!) - So Cool Bobby came back to give us all another Drunk Uncle Segment
"All Hallows' Steve" deserved a bigger laugh. Drunk Uncle is such a chaotically brilliant bit. I wish more of it were a two-shot so we could see Colin's reactions.
The masterful way that SNL out of nowhere had Tom Hanks introduce the musical guest, only for in the next segment had Bobby Moynihan pop up as his Drunk Uncle character on Weekend Update was such a wink to the fans foreshadowing that there was about to be the return of David S. Pumpkins in this episode. So well done!
Top 5 moments 1. Calling Colin "Seth" 2. Quiet quitting "Excuse me, I quit." 3. Grabbing the shit out of Colin's jacket 4. "Issa me, a-Chris-a Pratt!" 5. "JFK, blown away, what else do I have to say?"
I need to hug Bobby Moynihan and hang on tight! Tears in my eyes, lump in my throat, and laffin so hard I can't breathe. I'm sorry I had no idea who he was, until this skit. OMG 🤣 So hoping this become a regular weekend update character, along with Sarah Sherman. Beyond amazing!
You are making me feel really old right now 😂. This *was* a recurring character for years. If only there was a thing that allowed you to watch past shows....
I literally could watch just Bobby and Collin. He totally killed it with this drunk uncle sketch! I do wonder though if he called Collin “Seth” on purpose or just a hilarious accident.
That impression was too real!!!.... Musta done a lot of 'research' before playing that part. I also have the feeling that more than a little alcohol what involved ha! Cheers!
The Return of the Drunk Uncle made my night. "When I was a kid we were shoeshine chimney sweeps extra extra paper boys." Having Tom Hanks on as David S Pumpkins was a nice surprise, too.
Even though I read the comments before watching, and therefore already knew that the "Seth" was coming, it still made me laugh out loud! Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.
How awesome to have Bobby Moynihan come back to do Drunk Uncle on SNL?? Talk about a Halloween treat!! He was always awesome on the show and always one of my favorites… And of course, Colin Jost can’t help but have a good time during the whole thing 😂😂😂😂😂
I wish Bobby were still on SNL. He just has one of those faces that you miss for no reason. And also, the sketches he had a hand in writing were always unbelievably hilarious.
The huge applause break he received was so sweet. So great to see him back.

Bobby Moynihan is a star that deserves so much credit for his SNL tenure. One of a kind performer. Hope he gets hosting duties in the future!
Please tell me he's back as an SNL cast member! 🙏
Literally had this thought last night… he plays the straight man as well as the lead.
This reminded me of why I miss him so much on SNL. He did not disappoint in this sketch. I laughed until I had tears.
I ship this. I wish I was around when he was a cast member. I was just a tiny little Jared back then.
Bobby Moynihan hosting SNL !! YES
"NOT MY MARIO!" 💀 loving the cameos tonight!
So much shade 🤣🤣🤣
I laughed so hard - the way he said it!
Chris Pratt is #NotmyMario Either!
Good thing this came out in 2022 because the Kevin Afghani jokes write themselves😅

To this day, I always thought Bobby was such an underrated cast member.
He was😢
U not the only one 😢
He was the Chris Parnell of his generation: Never one to hog the spotlight but always came in clutch when needed.
He was never underrated in my book, to me he was a very hilarious member who had a lot of opportunities going for him before and after he left.
Me too!
When he called Collin "Seth" I died. I just heard Bobby say on the Dana Carvey/David Spade podcast it was an accident! Made it even funnier to me! ❤
This was a such pleasant surprise. Now we just have to get Bobby to host.
Next season should have all alum hosting.
That's a great idea, both of them
agreed! I miss him
Seems like the first three shows of this season were hurting for hosts no?
Right, like when the devil came back. I damn near lost my shit both times 🤣🤣🤣
The genuine surprise on Colin’s face when Bobby grabbed his lapel is my favorite moment. But really, this whole thing is just the best.
Anthony Crispino also grabbed Colin violently lol

Nailed it!
He called Colin Seth and didn’t know what he said 😂 So wholesome that he just slips back into that time

I couldn't tell if that was scripted or not. Weird that they didn't even pan out to Colin's reaction there.
