That little shed you were wondering was a sky lift. you also need to ride monster at night with its light show its a different animal in the dark. also the dragon was a much better ride than dragon slayer. it had two consecutive loops.
Skyride donated by the State of Washington from their state or worlds fair. A worker kid there lost an arm working there by tossing a lighter up into the giant cog they trying to reach for it. Yeah, never hear about that do you.
Grew up going to Adventure;and when visiting my grandmother in Des moines, it is a fun small regional park. I remember going on Underground on it's inaugural year. It was recently sold from the original owners family to Palace Entertainment who is doing upgrades every season since then.
Adventureland is NOT what it used to be. Clearly since there isn’t anybody there. Went down hill fast. Only been there once since the water park add on. Underground is pretty lame.
While I can’t speak for how the park used to be, I thought it was a ton of fun! I thought the underground was a blast! And we went first thing in the morning and booked it through the park, lots of rides had long lines. There was a decent amount of people there for being a week day in early June. Schools were still in session which is mainly why crowds aren’t as intense as you might have thought. :)
@@Kingdakev log ride, ragging river, dragon, silly silo, circus, sky glider. It’s all gone. Locals go other places now days like Kansas City or up to Minnesota
@@hawkwrangler1950 that’s upsetting to hear. They are making investments into the park to make up for the losses though. Dragon Slayer replaced some of dragon, and the park added a new log flume. While these aren’t the classic attractions that once were there. These will make for many memories for the younger generations
@@Kingdakev 2 people died there within the last few years also. I live in Des Moines so we hear all about what goes on there unfortunately. Tourists don’t hear about how it’s gone down hill
@hawkwrangler1950 I’ve heard all about the raging river accident. Sadly that seems to be a trend on those types of ride due to their extreme unpredictably. It was very tragic

Hopefully one day soon I’ll be able to make it back for night rides! And that’s right! I forgot they had a sky ride. I wish they didn’t get rid of it!

I agree! Adventureland is a really fun regional park!
Great vid, I’m heading back here for the first time in 7 years Saturday.
Thank you! I’m jealous! I wish I could go back right now haha. Have a great time!
I'm pretty sure I met your "BUZZ BARS?!" friend at Rollercoaster Rodeo 😂😊
Most likely! We did go later in the trip :)
They must have retracked the Tornado as it used to be intolerably rough.
They must have. It had its bumps but it was a really fun ride over all!
