Many people think international flying is glamorous but if you are doing it for business or your job such as yours, it can be more tedium than glamorous especially in this day of heightened security. That said, I have had some amazing trips to Tokyo, London, and Frankfurt to name a few. My last trip to London we went to a play in the West End and I was so tired I fell asleep for part of it. Thank God I didn’t snore. Afterwards we dined at a great Thai restaurant in the area. All-in-all, I have been fortunate to mix a little pleasure with business. Your videos stir up so many great memories for me. Keep up the good work!
It was nice to hear how you emphasized with the passengers of the delayed flight. As a passengers, we often don't see that side from the flight crew but just from this video alone, I bet you're a magnificent Flight Attendant. Thanks for sharing. 😎 I just Subscribed too.
Julia, I pray the Airlines are keeping all their employees safe from the Coronavirus. I love all your blogs, you travel so many neat places. Hope to maybe actually meet you someday at some airport who knows where. Be safe, happy journeys.😀
I work for a different airline (in a non-FA role) and flew AA MIA-LHR last August, seated in a window seat in the last row in Economy. Great flight! The IFE on AA’s B773 is very good, state of the art even, and the seat was comfy. Most of all the service was quite good, friendly and efficient and the food was tasty. Well done with this video!
I retired in March after a 43 year career. I miss my flat white from Nero before the flight! I knew exactly where you were every step of the way in London - my absolute favorite city! Do not miss the long duty days and exhaustion, however! Thanks for sharing
Also in London we have a night stop at Heathrow and flights can’t land in between certain hours! Love your page Julia. I’m Heathrow based British Airways staff and I miss work so so much! Been watching for the past few weeks and I love your channel x
I found your channel through a video suggestion. And I am loving it so far. I was in FA training years ago for a regional airline. Unfortunately I got through about half of it and had to go home due to a family emergency. I can appreciate what FA's do to ensure the safety of all passengers. When the FA's do the safety demonstration, I always watch because you never know when there might be an emergency. I have subscribed to your channel already :)
Thank you so much for watching and subscribing! I am so sorry that you had to leave training, have you considered re applying? Yes, so true you never know when there might be an emergency!
Im a ex U.S. Navy Seal, im really glad and empressed by your travels, i also traveled the world in alot places you been to and will go ,plus places i hope you never go to,, keep up the positive attitude and remember,, win it gets tough, you were made to do that work,, never quit,, what seperates the fine people of this world is when life knocks you down , will you get back up,,, just tighten your boots up, shake it off, and go back to with what your trying to accomplish... love your content,,, i think your a sweet girl,,, oh ! Thlose delays can be so frustrating but you handled it well I'm sure, loved the tour in London great place.Your flight home was awesome what a treat which you all deserved thanks for the nice video.
Yeah delays are definitely frustrating but we’re used to them! & I was so excited to go to London so nothing could spoil my mood ☺️ thank you for watching ✈️
You do edit your videos nicely. The audio you use in the background is what makes your videos stand out. It reminds me of other well made videos on youtube that I've seen.
Great insight into what can happen during a delay. London is one of my favourite cities so many things to check out. I also noticed 31k views on this video that’s awesome!
Jetting Julia; Excellent presentation!! Glad you had a good trip to/from London, despite the delay! That's great you were able to fly Business from LHR-DFW! You have a very positive attitude which is great to see! I worked as an airline flight attendant for over 18 years with America West Airlines, Comair, and Chautauqua Airlines. No, I have not yet flown to London. While working with America West, I worked the Honolulu-Nagoya, Japan flights. You mentioned being on reserve! I was on reserve the entire 7+ years, while working with Comair! Six times per month, I was on "Ready Reserve"-at the airport. Yes, I used to pick up, or request trips from "Open Time" as often as possible. Your channel here on TH-cam great! Keep up the great work!! Have a very pleasant flight!
Hi Brian, so you understand the reserve lifestyle just like me! haha I'm on reserve 1 month then 1 month a line for 4 years, then switch to a 3-1 rotation. I always try to request the best trips from open time that I can, this is the first time however that it really worked in my favor! Thank you so much for watching!
I love your always positive attitude.....even with the 8 hour delay!!! 1. Any suggestions for me as a passenger when delayed? 2. Is there a big difference between business and First Class? Thanks letting me travel with you.
Suggestions when you are delayed: Buy some snacks/water you never how long you'll be delayed & try to be patient, delays happen for a lot of different reasons! In my opinion there isn't a huge difference between business and first class, however the seats are slightly larger in first class and I think the meals are slightly different. Thanks for coming along with me and watching!
I am so happy for you that you got to go back to London! Isn't it a fun city? Hope you will get to have a High Tea with your colleagues the next time you are in London. Two suggestions; for a traditional tea in gorgeous settings, try the Palm Court at the Ritz. If you want some spectacular views with your tea, try the Oblix on the 32nd floor of the Shard. It's that weird looking glass building. Sort of looks like a rocket! Either one is worth the price. After all, it's a one time thing. Right? LOL! Let us know if you get back there to try it. Have a great January! Take care and Happy Travels! ♥️🛫🌐
Thank you John for the high tea recommendations, I always look forward to your comments and suggestions! I will definitely write those places down. I loved London and am sure I'll go back many more times. Thank you so much for watching, I hope you have a great January as well! :)
@@JettingJulia Honestly Julia, you are the best TH-camr for replying to your subscribers! It really makes my day and I do appreciate you taking the time to reply! Both of the places I recommended are expensive but like I said it's worth it for a one time special experience you will always remember!
We had the same problem and our flight was cancelled and we and the other 300 passengers had to sleep in the airport on camp beds. On the next day we headed to Miami and we were not able to catch any flight to london 3 days long and we had to pay our hotel by our self.
my fave vid of yours yet! i am from London and its lovely to see you walking around enjoying it - i am glad you went to Dishoom and I hope you also had a curry!
My fa professor just got back from LHR and Germany and omg such an inspiration!! Especially watching you and fly with stella just got me super duper stoked!! Keep up the good work!! Hope to meet you in the skies very soon!! ✈️
Hi Julia I just wanted to tell you I use your videos for my esl classes . My students love them. They get to discover your interesting life while practicing all kinds of vocab n english language structures.. THANKS!
Yes, I visited London (with a day trip to Brussels) for my milestone birthday in the Fall of 2018. Loved London 😍! If I could, I would go every year just to shop at Harrods. 😁 High five that you all got Business Class on the flight back. 🙌🏾
Oh that's amazing, I would love to go to Brussels! I still haven't been to Harrod's yet hahah. & YES business class was amazing on the way back, I felt so lucky. Thank you for watching!
Last time I flew home to Budapest from Dubai, I chatted with the crew (they had some time enroute due it was 5 hour flight half empty also a 777-300), we left Dubai at 9am local time, but before the flight they had an inbound from Mumbai as well. They said it's often a very tight schedule with Emirates, sometimes they wake up in a hotel at any part of the world and for a few seconds they dont even know where they are at that moment... Living with all those jetlags must be real hard. I guess it's not a job, but a lifestyle with an endless adventure :)
Yes there are plenty of times where I wake up and totally forget where I am! haha, it is most definitely a lifestyle not just a job. But the adventure is endless and there's SO many beautiful places to see. I feel so lucky to have already seen so many. Thank you for watching :)
Hi Julia .... It's not so much slot times, flights often get delayed as you know, with no problems with the captain re-scheduling departures ... It's more to do with your arrival time at LHR ... LHR usually shuts runways at around 11.30pm because of noise issues and re-opens around 4am, to conform to noise abatement for local residents ... The terminal buildings are always open 24/7 365 days a year ! ... The Term "DEADHEAD" is also used in catering for a catering box or cart that is empty and just used for stowage purposes ... Do you know youtube Kat Nesbitt another Dallas based Flight Attendant who fly’s for American ... ? Kat is also looking for collaborations with other youtube cabin crew ... ! Catering are also only allowed to service the aircraft from the right / starboard side of the aircraft ... Love the channel ...
Hi there! Thanks for your comment I am learning so much through the comments section of this video, and yes I'm friends with Kat! Thank you for watching and supporting my channel :)
I have been to London six times, soon to be seven. Never gets old. Always something to do. Also important to get out into the rest of England. I will be staying in a small village in the Cotswolds on this next trip. Can't wait.
I agree, there is always something to do no matter where you travel to! If I ever have a longer layover or go for personal travel I would love to sight see out into the rest of England, thanks so much for watching!
I love going to England and visiting my family! I fly YVR to LHR which is a great flight over the North, Greenland, Iceland, and coming down over the Irish Sea😊
Had a 8+ hour delay in NRT that was headed for DFW in 2016. Even with lounge access and being an avgeek I was going crazy towards the end lol. The FA’s after that long delay were still awesome. Don’t know how y’all do it. Lol Great video.
Oh my gosh that is a LONG delay for an even LONGER flight I would go crazy too! That's great that your flight attendants were awesome, makes me really happy. We are used to delays but the long ones like that can be brutal, thank you for watching!
This popped up in my suggestions - very interesting. You might not answer this but.... what gets me when I fly is the mess other passengers leave behind! Maybe it's me but even though I know the plane will be cleaned(ish) I've always tried to at least leave my seat roughly how I found it, at the very least to take my litter away with me!
We so appreciate you doing that! At my airline the flight attendants don't clean the planes but at MANY airlines they do! I did for my regional airline prior to coming to mainline and it was always awful when passengers left a total mess! It's one of our biggest pet peeves lol. Thank you for watching!
I once had a really delayed flight from ORD to PVG. The crew were replacement crew. They were quite perky and provided great service. Thank for perky attendant like you.
Nice video loved the tour of London I surprised you didn't have Fish and chips haa loved the outside view of plane above the clouds very beautiful..also kinda my brothers problems on his AA flight from LGA to Jackson MS the plane had broken seat belt so it got delayed so missed connecting flight in DC to JAN and it was the last flight so they gave him room and food voucher and on way back to NYC from Jackson it was very rainy and flight was delayed but JAN airport didnt say that it was suppose to leave 1820 hrs but didnt leave till midnight so of course missed connecting flight in Charlotte he wasnt happy and started drinking a bit too much had to be escorted out of airport but he did get back early morn in NYC sorry such a long comment haha.. Happy Flying
wow, big day, and what a schedule mess,, when I was in london the tube was on strike, the busses were going on strike, the taxi's too, and they blew up a bomb in hyde park and it rained alll the trip,, Have fun, thanks for the vids,
Just a nice, fun video. Thanks for posting. I simply can’t imagine doing that flight and working, then trying to sightsee. I’ve done that flight many times, albeit from IAD a few hours shorter, and I always felt wiped when I arrived at London. But still pushed forward to do the sightseeing, take the bus trips to Oxford and Cottswald and Stonehenge. Smart move getting Indian food, some of the best food in London, and arguably better than India and Nepal where I’ve been many times. So glad you got business class, that’s a beautiful little pod, looks more like first class. I can’t imagine doing these trips in economy. Thanks for posting!
Glad you were able to get a business class seat. I would follow the same logic as you in choosing your flight home. I visited London once and I really enjoyed it.
I am surprised they wouldn’t take advantage of having crew already in London to work a flight back to the US. You definitely lucked out on getting a deadhead and flying business class! Do you have any recommendations for somewhere warm to travel to this winter? Was hoping to go to Puerto Rico but then the earthquakes happened. I’ve already been to Cuba, Jamaica, Mexico, Antigua, Panama, Costa Rica and Saint Lucia. Was hoping for somewhere safe enough to explore, I don’t want to be confined to the hotel for the week.
I think what happened is we were somehow an extra crew! But YES we all lucked out, I couldn't believe it! One perk of being a flight attendant :) Ooooh somewhere warm to travel to, it's expensive but any of the Hawaiian islands are a huge recommendation from me. I love Hawaii, it's beautiful year round and always safe!
I used to work with a gal who could almost be Maddie’s twin. Seriously had to do a double-take! Thanks for sharing another awesome video. Really made me want to go back to London sometime! Travel safe!
LHR have a curfew between midnight and 5.00 a.m. No flights land or take off during that time and in so doing reduce noise pollution and not disturb residents living around the airport.
So glad you were able to get out and explore London, especially after the long delay. As I am from England i find it really fun and interesting to see you explore the things you find in London. Next time you visit, I highly suggest going to the London Eye, on a clear day you get a really good view of the city.
The flight attendants have always been fantastic on those AA DFW-LHR flights. I take flight AA50 from time to time. However, I am 6'3" and those economy seats are tight. I sit on the isle and the food and drink carts hit my leg constantly. Next time, I will need to spring for a business class seat. Great job with these videos by the way.
Ahh I’m sorry about your legs in economy constantly getting hit by the carts, we try so hard to not hit anyone 😅 but yes business class is a total game changer! ✈️ thanks for watching
I enjoy watching your videos while im waiting for my opportunity to get back to my flight attendant job again. This last year has been rough. You have gotten me thru it Thank you very much n keep up the great job
Welcome to my town! Top tip, don’t buy travelcards for the subway. Its better to get an Oyster card, charge it with credit, and tap in and out with it. It’s a lot cheaper and you can use it again on your next visit.
One of my favorite international destinations Is Puerto Vallarta (PVR). If you get a chance, try doing that flight. Puertto Vallarta has “taco tours” in the evening. Last time I went I went to “Dinner in the sky” . It was breath-taking -Tony
London tip: buy an Oyster card at the kiosk in the subway using your credit card. You can choose the amount to put on it and then simply scan it at the turnstyle when you use it each time. Reload as needed when you return on future trips. Mind the gap!!
There’s no need to get an Oyster card. You can use contactless on your credit card or Apple Pay. Don’t even need to faceid as the gates designed to accept iphone
I am a new subscriber and I love your channel. I love seeing the behind the scenes of what a flight attendant does. I’ve been to DFW a few times and that airport is huge lol. Take care.
great vlog as ever ! If you’re in London and fancy brunch you should go to the breakfast club in angel (I think there are a few others around too) !! did you manage to sleep well on your deadhead ?
So you are “positioning “ home as we say in the uk....(death head sounds so dreadful) .....glad you made it to the uk over Xmas ...nice to see all the Xmas lights etc in London! Hope you enjoyed the uk tour!
Yes we are being positioned back home, I know "deadhead" sounds so morbid! hahah. I loved London and was so happy to see all the Christmas lights, thanks for watching!
Jetting Julia Does that happen bec of a plane taken out of service? Didn’t undrstand how they have more crew than needed on flight back. Really enjoyed your video!
You guys should totally check out the Bluebird Cafe sometime! It’s down in Chelsea right down the road from where you stay near Gloucester Road. Really incredible spot to go grab a snack and sit outside when the weather is nice! Super easy too the 49 bus takes you straight down from Gloucester road station to just down the road. Hope you guys can check it out!
As a person who is not the biggest fan of flying, I do have to ask two questions. First, don't you ever get scared or nervous before a flight in case of terrorism or something goes wrong? And second, how can you you spend so much time on a plane without getting board or "going mad" if you know what I mean?
I totally understand fear of flying for many reasons! I personally don’t have it but I can sympathize for people who do. To answer your questions 1. We are highly trained on what to do in situations like that, although I pray I never have to actually use that training. 2. I love to read, so I’ll read a lot, watch movies (on breaks), talk with co workers, complete my mandatory cabin walk through, answer passenger call lights - the time surprisingly goes by quickly! Thanks for watching!
Do you wear your airline badge or lanyard when you deadhead or do you just fly casually? (can you use cabin room on plane when you deadhead or is that just for that flights crew, bc that would be awesome if you wanted to rest had you got a middle seat)
I am glad you made to LHR I love the medium size grocery store, Waitrose. The hotel chef surely has retired since I did in 2913. He made the best salmon dishes. Many people who are too tired to go out eat there. I hope you had a nice time. Be well. I am so glad you are having fun in your job. I say, "enjoy and take advantage of everything."

The IFE on AA’s B773 is very good, state of the art even, and the seat was comfy. Most of all the service was quite good, friendly and efficient and the food was tasty.
Well done with this video!
That makes me so happy to hear, I'm glad you had a great experience on your flight! :) Thank you for watching!
Woow
Airports are so exciting ....the sound of jets, the smell of jet exhaust...the reflection of chrome and the over priced Starbucks coffee....
We haven’t been to London for a few years, but your video brought back so many memories of the city. Such a neat place to visit. Thanks!
Thank you so much for watching, I loved London and can't wait to return yet again one day!
Watch you Julia has been enjoyable to me. Change of watching every thing else.
London is becoming one of my favorite cities as well! Thank you so much for watching :)
Thanks for taking us on your fun trip.
This video really got me excited because I am flying to LHR in less than 30 days. Thanks for the great scenes from London. 🇬🇧
That's awesome, I hope you have a fantastic trip!
Bristol is better ;)
Thanks for taking me to London! It’s on my list. That business class looks amazing!
I’m so happy to bring you all along with me! London was great & business class was such a nice treat 🤗✈️ thanks for watching!
Aaaah the Life Just before Covid 😄👍
I don’t mind paying a high price for a great one time experience ☺️ & thank you, I love talking to you all and building a true online community!
Another good video on your part to cover such an iconic in historic City
I also enjoyed the fresh, cool music you included
Thank you so much, I loved London and can't wait to return! I'm glad you liked the music :)
We had the same problem and our flight was cancelled and we and the other 300 passengers had to sleep in the airport on camp beds. On the next day we headed to Miami and we were not able to catch any flight to london 3 days long and we had to pay our hotel by our self.
I live near London village and have lucky enough to visit the Dallas area twice. Absolutely love Texas
That’s awesome! Thank you for watching 😌
@@JettingJulia love you!! Watched you since ages!!!
I moved to London a few months ago. Still ago to see vloggers here, recording and eating at places I now frequent.
That's awesome! I hope you like living in London. That's really cool that you've seen some of your local places on YT!
my fave vid of yours yet! i am from London and its lovely to see you walking around enjoying it - i am glad you went to Dishoom and I hope you also had a curry!
My fa professor just got back from LHR and Germany and omg such an inspiration!! Especially watching you and fly with stella just got me super duper stoked!! Keep up the good work!! Hope to meet you in the skies very soon!! ✈️
Awww yay! If you ever see me please come say hi! ✈️ good luck in training!
I have had so many great flights thanks to Flight Attendants. Keep up the good work.
That's great to hear, thanks so much!
High five that you all got Business Class on the flight back. 🙌🏾
Oh that's amazing, I would love to go to Brussels! I still haven't been to Harrod's yet hahah. & YES business class was amazing on the way back, I felt so lucky. Thank you for watching!
I am super excited that I am watching this video.
@@JettingJulia Do you also fly the 767? AA use the 767 from PHL to Budapest in the summer :)
Your welcome .... We've all been in the game for a long time, glad you enjoy your job and the comments ... ;-)
If you can, go to Wolverhampton in the west Midlands. Best fish and chips in the entire great Britain
@@flyineagle4651 Thanks for the tip....I will put that on my list!
I love going to England and visiting my family! I fly YVR to LHR which is a great flight over the North, Greenland, Iceland, and coming down over the Irish Sea😊
Oh wow that sounds like a beautiful flight! I love Vancouver, I've been a few times and would love to go back. Thank you for watching :)
London was my favorite place to layover. I always had so much fun!
I live in London so glad you enjoyed your trip here and great video.
Thank you so much for watching, I love London! 🤗
Yeay! London trip!
My favourite city🤩
Hope you had fun time there with your colleagues
It’s such an awesome city, I loved it! & thank you we had a blast ☺️ thanks for watching! ✈️🧳
Had a 8+ hour delay in NRT that was headed for DFW in 2016. Even with lounge access and being an avgeek I was going crazy towards the end lol. The FA’s after that long delay were still awesome. Don’t know how y’all do it. Lol
Great video.
Oh my gosh that is a LONG delay for an even LONGER flight I would go crazy too! That's great that your flight attendants were awesome, makes me really happy. We are used to delays but the long ones like that can be brutal, thank you for watching!
The healthy food at Heathrow is A+!
I’ve been to Dishoom! It was great, even my kids loved it.
That's awesome, I loved it and I'm not a huge Indian food fan! Thanks for watching :)
High tea 🍵 in London and a free spin home. That’s the life
It was a fabulous trip! ✈️ thanks for watching ☺️
I love you julia💕i just love your videos
Awwww thank you!! I love you all ✈️🤗
I once had a really delayed flight from ORD to PVG. The crew were replacement crew. They were quite perky and provided great service. Thank for perky attendant like you.
I'm sorry about your delay but I'm happy your crew was nice, thank you for watching!
I actually don't like fish! haha and dang sorry to hear that about your brother, travel can be crazy sometimes. Thanks for watching!
wow, big day, and what a schedule mess,, when I was in london the tube was on strike, the busses were going on strike, the taxi's too, and they blew up a bomb in hyde park and it rained alll the trip,, Have fun, thanks for the vids,
Just a nice, fun video.
London is beautiful & there’s still more I want to see! 🤗 thank you for watching ✈️🧳
London really looks cool, like I mention before never been there.
I love Hawaii, it's beautiful year round and always safe!
beccakozak Hi becca I wanna know
London next time. Take. Me to with. You 😊
I used to work with a gal who could almost be Maddie’s twin. Seriously had to do a double-take!
Thanks for sharing another awesome video. Really made me want to go back to London sometime!
Travel safe!
Flash your OneWorld badge "Heathrow we're one of you"
🤣
LHR have a curfew between midnight and 5.00 a.m. No flights land or take off during that time and in so doing reduce noise pollution and not disturb residents living around the airport.
One of the best Indian restaurant in the world. Great Choice, Julia.
I'm gonna have to start taking more American Airlines flights, super attractive crews
So glad you were able to get out and explore London, especially after the long delay. As I am from England i find it really fun and interesting to see you explore the things you find in London. Next time you visit, I highly suggest going to the London Eye, on a clear day you get a really good view of the city.
You are a beautiful flight attendant!
I'm living in London. Glad you enjoyed your short visit. :)
I enjoy watching your videos while im waiting for my opportunity to get back to my flight attendant job again. This last year has been rough. You have gotten me thru it
Thank you very much n keep up the great job
London looks like a great place to visit, loved you walking through the streets so would could get a little tour.
Welcome to my town! Top tip, don’t buy travelcards for the subway. Its better to get an Oyster card, charge it with credit, and tap in and out with it. It’s a lot cheaper and you can use it again on your next visit.
Yes so many people have recommended the oyster cents, I definitely need to get one next time I’m in London! ☺️ thanks for watching!
I love DFW airport. It’s big but well organized
It’s a huge airport but I love it too!
I've heard I need to do the Oyster card, I'll definitely do that next time I'm in London! Thanks for watching!
Take care.
I got delayed in Frankfurt, GR for 4 hours before and slept right thru it. Then we got a nice tour of the whole airport on a bus which was fun.
great vlog as ever ! If you’re in London and fancy brunch you should go to the breakfast club in angel (I think there are a few others around too) !! did you manage to sleep well on your deadhead ?
Oooh yes thank you for the recommendation! & yes I slept for 5 hours on my flight back, it was amazing!
First time seeing the channel. Hate to fly and will never go up again but I feel like I just did a flight to London and back.
Oh, if you want recommendations, San Francisco and Stockholm are must see!
Oh my gosh thank you so much for the recommendation, I'll definitely look out for this place the next time I'm in London! Thank you for watching :)
Dishoom is amazing! I ate there when I went in September.
It was sooooo good!
Great v log. What an amazing life you have.
Loved your brutal honesty about the tea! 🤣
