    Fyi its hard to see the black items with your black pole shirt and black helmet as a background and prop.

    if you move your hands out of the way while installing it would be useful. Or at least show what you are doing or have completed. Adding more light to your video, since you are using a helmet with a black interior would be nice as well. Would also be useful if you slow down your instructions.

    Cant get it to connect to the RC 4 remote. Should have been a way to just scan the qr code and that would be that.

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      To connect to a remote control, it's important to make sure that the system is in remote control pairing mode. To do so, you need to enter the configuration menu by holding the center button for 10s, then navigate with the plus buttons to remote control pairing, and select the option with the center button once more. While doing this, you also need to simultaneously make sure that the remote is also in pairing mode by holding the plus button for about 8s.
      Thanks for the comment!
      Besides the connection, how have you found the 50R?

    Are the speakers the same quality as the JBL speakers of cardo?

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The HD speakers on the 50R show a remarkable improvement with much more clarity, but we found they still have a little bit of distortion at louder volumes. Considering JBL are already famous for their speakers and Cardo is respected for their quality, we'd still stick with the Cardo as far as the audio quality of the speakers. Thanks for the question!

    Cardo bold or sena 50r. ATV riding mostly

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Mitchell, for ATV riding, we'd lean more towards the Cardo Packtalk Bold since it is certified as waterproof. The Sena 50R is only listed as water-resistant, which means that the Cardo may stand up better to a tougher riding situation.
      If you're still unsure about the two systems, you can also check out our specs comparison (th-cam.com/video/xtX6NEbidd4/w-d-xo.html ) and our system test (th-cam.com/video/jZox7xdabuY/w-d-xo.html ). Thanks for the question!
      What are your thoughts on the two systems?

    Thanks for the video. Will 50S survive frequent rains or should I go for 50R for it ?

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Sena 50 series is, according to Sena, weather and water-resistant. So, if you ride in frequent rains, the 50 series should most likely stand up to the weather, provided everything is properly sealed. However, for full peace of mind, it may also be worth checking out the Cardo Packtalk Bold, which is IP67 waterproof. Thanks for the question!
      What are your thoughts on the new 50 series?

    • @ShivaAvula
      @ShivaAvula 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Championhelmets I think he 50 series is awesome. Just hoping it has better weather sealing. The part of India I live in, it always rains. Unfortunately Cardo is not available here. Customs duty make it too expensive to consider.

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The waterproofing always seems to come up as a sticking point with Sena's top tier systems, since it was the same case with the Sena 30K. Depending on how heavy the rains are, the system may still stand up to the weather.
      If it things get too much, then Sena have left it fairly easy to remove the system from the clamp mount (as long as the speaker and microphone plugs are left easily reachable), though this is, of course, not ideal

    Would this unit be capable of VLOGging by using a digital connection instead of placing a microphone near the headset? How easy would it be to setup using something like a GoPro camera?

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The best way to look at the 50 system for motovlogging would as a more advanced version of the 30K. So, the microphones are most likely not compatible between something like a GoPro and a 50S. Nonetheless, depending on the helmet, the system shouldn't pose too many problems for a GoPro setup. Otherwise, Sena also have their own Bluetooth micophone to GoPro adapter that clips to the camera.

    The sena 50r cannot find my wifi network at home to hook up to. I’ve tried everything. Any work arounds for this?

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It seems that the wi-fi adapter is very particular about the networks that it connects to. Various workarounds have been to remove any special characters from the router name and password as well as allowing guests on the router to see each other. Some have also found a new firmware update has helped with the issue, which can be downloaded via a computer. Otherwise, the best option would be to contact Sena directly for support.
      Thanks for the question!

I think I might be able to call my internet provider and hey can make changes? We’ll see I guess. Thanks for the update! My wifi has no spaces or characters but has a password. So maybe that’s it? I’ve emailed sena so we’ll see what they say. Thanks for the response!

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That does complicate things. That may help, though if you own the router you should be able to make some of these changes. The password shouldn't pose a problem, the only factor to be wary of is if there are any special characters.
      We hope that the issue is sorted out soon!

    Is the 50r unit waterproof? If it is raining out can I remove the unit from my helmet if need be?

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately, the 50R and the 50S are only weather and water-resistant. So, while they should stand up to showers, they're not IP67 waterproof like the Cardo Packtalk. Nonetheless, if you use the clamp or the velcro option offered with the 50R, there should be no problem with removing the unit, you just need to make sure that when you install the system that the microphone and speaker plugs are easily reachable. Thanks for the question!
      What's your opinion on the new 50R?

      @@Championhelmets Thanks, but I have not gotten a chance to use mine as of yet. I am trying to find a compatible helmet. Not sure which helmet the unit will fit into. Do you have any suggestions? I like the modular and open face helmets.

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      For open face helmets, we'd suggest the Arai SZ-R VAS, unlike the Shoei J-Cruise 2 and the Schuberth M1 Pro, the Arai is built to incorporate any communication system. The Arai helmet also showed excellent performance when we tested it out on the road.
      For modular helmets, we'd suggest the HJC RPHA 90S (Carbon), since, though it is prepared for the HJC Smart 10B and 20B, this won't have an impact on installing the 50R / 50S using the clamp. The AGV Sportmodular, Shoei Neotec 2, and Schuberth C4 Pro are also top modular helmets, but the only way to fit the system would be to use a glue plate mount, which is not always ideal.

    What is the difference between the 50S and 50R?

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The main difference between the 50S and 50R is in their interface. So, the 50R uses a 3-button setup like the Sena SRL 2 and the 50S uses a jog dial. The two systems also come with different mounting options, different microphone options, and the 50S has a slightly larger battery for an extra hour of use. Thanks for the question!

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Sena seem to get worse and worse with their design. Wires hanging out, stuck to the bracket (so not easily removed like the Cardo can be) and look at the size of it!

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The need to stick the system to the mount is inconvenient if you need to remove the system, and it is still quite thick as well. Since the speakers have also been updated, it seems to be giving a more concerted effort in going after the Cardo Packtalk even going so far as to drop the price slightly. Thanks for the comment!
      What are your thoughts on the Mesh 2.0 in the system?

    • @altypeRR
      @altypeRR 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Champion Helmets mesh 2.0 is only any good if it is multi brand compatible (which I don’t think it is). Sure you can use a Cardo unit to add a Bluetooth in (so I would imagine sena can do the same) but it would need true cross brand mesh to be unique. It seems they have just copied the packtalk system.
      I’m afraid for me it still has a long way to go to catch up to any of the Cardo products and I’m guessing that sena still haven’t made this properly waterproof?

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately, the Mesh 2.0 is only Sena specific for the 50 series, 30K, Momentum Evo helmet, and Mesh+ adapter. It's also not indicated anywhere that the Sena can patch a Bluetooth user into the mesh, so it might not be possible on the Sena. The system also doesn't indicate whether it is waterproof, though it is most likely water-resistant. Thanks for the reply!

    • @allenklingsporn6993
      @allenklingsporn6993 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The wiring issues are mostly just an example of a poorly thought out installation. I've installed several Sena devices on all sorts of helmets, and you have to think ahead to the limits of acceptable mounting areas. People are also best advised to just mount to the helmet with adhesives. If one truly has that many helmets that they would need to transfer between them regularly, they're probably better off with another product.

    So much promise, yet Sena continues to use 1980s technology when it comes to their mics. Why in this day and age doesn't Sena offer a WIRELESS mic option for modular helmets?? In fact they could use wireless mics period. Get rid of that silly 1980s boom mic!
