    Border View Farms is a mid-sized family farm that sits on the Ohio-Michigan border. My name is Nathan. I make and edit all of the videos posted here. I farm with my dad, Mark and uncle, Phil. Our part-time employee, Brock, also helps with the filming. 1980 was our first year in Waldron where our main farm is now. Since then we have grown the operation from just a couple hundred acres to over 3,000. Watch my 500th video for a history of our farm I filmed with my dad.
    I started making these videos in the fall of 2019 as a way to help show what I do on a daily basis as a farmer. Agriculture is different from any other industry and I believe the more people that are showing their small piece of agriculture, helps to build our story. We face unique challenges and stressful situations but have some of the most rewarding payoffs in the end. I get to spend everyday doing what I love, raising my kids on the farm, and trying to push our farm to be better every year. I hope that I can address questions or concerns that you might have about farms and agriculture.
    I hope you enjoy my content and ask questions as you have them. I do my best to answer anything I can. Thanks for watching!
    I appreciate you subscribing to my channel and liking my videos. You can also find me on Facebook borderviewfarms and on Instagram @borderviewfarms

    You’re dad is a professional with that saw , I remember after I broke my back back in 2001 I couldn’t do pipe fitting for a couple years, I worked in a hardware store, I would cringe when people would bring their saw in for me to tighten their chain for them, I would tell them if you don’t know how to tighten a chain you probably don’t need to be running a chainsaw

    Ways to upset dealers: 1. Present them with a problem. 2. Give them a tillage problem when they're geared up to handle harvest problems. Well, better now with good weather than a month from now. Stay safe.

    I'm not a farmer, so this comment/question might be way off base - would molboard plowing in-between corn & bean years bury the pathogen, which causes the mold, deep enough to protect the beans?

    I have a question why is farmers replant wheat that they grew the year before but farmers are not aloud to replant corn or soybeans that they grew

    • @BorderViewFarms
      @BorderViewFarms  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Well corn is a hybrid and saving corn to plant the next year would result in very poor corn. Soy eats would actually grow and produce a crop but almost all the soybeans grown in the US are GMO and have plant variety patents protecting them. It is illegal to save soybeans for seed. There is no GMO wheat although I do think there are plant variety patents that restrict saving some.
