People are free to decide how they approach the subject and that's part of the beauty of the USA. I do however have a significant problem with folks who believe their particular religion is the one by which we all should be governed. Since before he got elected, I thought that he who shall not be named and Melania were working for Russia. There were a lot of Republican politicians who supposedly hated him but after he got elected, they fell in line. Look how Graham and Cruz became staunch defenders. There were several others who have rabidly defended him. My personal opinion, which may be wrong, is that blackmail is somehow involved, right from the top on down.

I’ve got to admit, that it’s taken me decades to figure out how we, in the USA, are just as subject to insidious external manipulations as the third world countries that we scorn for their gullibility to the propaganda and tendency to embrace ridiculous autocrats. I once had a heated argument with a couple of Arab college students in 1982! I was firm in my defense of our freedom of the press, in that it guaranteed, by law, that we had the right to share information about our politics without interference. They assured me that I just couldn’t SEE what they were observing in our information providers. I did not admit that it was even possible for my government to be so insidious as to manipulate public opinion in ways that resulted in devious and cruel results. As time has passed, I now see that every conflict we’ve ever been involved in had it’s germ in the minds of madmen. They were right, those young men I argued with, which makes my heart truly ache. It’s time that America lived up to its ideals. We can’t allow our country to be controlled by corporate megalomaniacs. I’m grateful to you sir, for your channel, as it sheds some light in this very dark tunnel we’ve found ourselves in. Keep thinking…

I have grown up learning to read between the lines and the other side of the paper also. And understand what those unseen and -told bits of mean. Or the lack of them. Anybody who has lived in the cold war era here in finland knows how.
Therefore its not a surprise that the old letters b,g and k shine from under x, o and f.

Another brilliant observation by Beau. I guess we could say that trump was patient zero, and by way of his election to potus and subsequent actions and behaviors, he was able to by and large convert almost all republican politicians in the house and senate and almost the entire voting base (remember the “I’d rather be a Russian than a democrat” slogan) into “agents.” Truly sickening.

The FBI has agents. Intelligence has Controllers, Operatives, and Assets. A Controller is the runner, an Operative is the influencer in this case, or is an insertee. And Asset is someone who's been turned or recruited, or is acting as member of the opposing government (popularly a "double-agent"). And the most useful technique in turning someone is to convince them that they are the true patriot in calling for change. Sometimes it's money, sometimes a promise of greater influence, or the asset is simply disgruntled. But turning a patriot is easiest done by appealing to that patriotism and getting them to fully believe that calling for change makes them a true patriot and a greater patriot than anyone else.

Agents of influence can be secured unbeknowst to themselves. I can think of a few for which it might be the case, academics/media figures lured in by satisfying their unquenchable lust for recognition, a guest professorship position in some prestigious university maybe, not exactly being turned mind you, just nudged a bit further down a rabbit hole they have a proclivity for , my guess is narcissistic personalities whose star shine is waning are particularly susceptible.
I'm essentially referring to agents of influence secured by american think tanks here , but I bet other nations are starting to compete with that method now .
