This format is golden. So much information, with no interruptions. I've always used paracord between my Harris legs, but it's long enough, I pull on the rope to drop both legs, but I like your setup better. That's a good tip.
I have been getting my balls busted by team mates and skeptics alike about my 2 dot and variable power setup. After turning off my peltors to drown out the ridicule and using this setup for a few weeks now I will be converting all of my SPR and GPR rifles to this setup. Glad to see you agree. Keep up the good work gentlemen! God bless

In regards to the atlas deployment, you can get new plates called the slapjax, which gives you that buttonless deploy. Of course you lose the 0* and 45* locking angles. I personally like the 45* forward, but its all give and take.
Badger offset dot at 1.7 at 45 is easy to aim passive because my nods are against my scope as a touch point. Mounting it forward or in line with the ejection port is easy to pick up.
Thought about that, but a large part of what makes the killflash effective is it having the depth of the honeycomb, like the straws you see through. Mesh is still better than nothing I'm sure, but spending a little coin on a one hundred concepts killflash is still worth the upgrade when you can afford to, if they make one for your optic
@LastGunslinger94 served me well through my time in service, really only saw the manufactured ones on cco's, of course this was back in the day before we had options, depth is good to have with one, for the homemade a sunshade with the cap can do it too.
I've personally had great luck for about 10 years with Amazon bipods, except for the provided sling stud attachments. If you only have one or two rifles you're setting up, shell out for the good stuff.
Okay….i KNOW someone already asked….That gun must be in Excess of 13-15lbs. I know I know HIT the gym lol 😂 . I’m a good sized guy, I’m hard pressed to say I could handle that weight in a WROL/SHTF scenario. I suspect that particular gun is MOSTLY for competition. And THEN There’s the GPR. Good Video as always 💪🏽💯!!!
The handguard surprisingly is pretty light weight, the TOOB is made of carbon fiber and the top rail is monolithic making it rigid, but is made of aluminum. The weight the gun does have helps with recoil mitigation which allows for fast accurate shots. But yes the SPR def fills a role, for a marksman/ sniper working within the team.
My setup is similar to his, 16in Daniel defense with a2 stock, Steiner 3-18 with vortex piggybacked, and bipod and a Samson grip. It’s lighter than my mk18 ris3…even with my can on it’s light.
I personally blame you guys for making me build a mock12 😂 but for anyone wondering the new rosco spr barrels are awesome. My mk12 is a 1/2 moa 3 shot gun. Even 10 shot groups of pmc m193 were staying at or under 2 moa
@MyLonewolf25 well it's definitely a sub moa gun. I don't judge my guns with 3 shot groups, but I also don't judge them with ball ammo. I haven't shot 10 shot groups with it yet, but I don't doubt it'll hold sub MOA for 5 and probably 9 or 10 shot groups will be close to it.
Why does there always have to be someone that wants to piss on your cornflakes? It doesn't take a lot of common sense to know if a barrel will do 3 at 1/2 moa that even with a flier it's not a 2 moa at 5. Add in the pmc and it removes all doubt from me. I don't get the negativity. I'm happy when my peeps get wins. My ex wife woke up every day for 20 years thinking she was going to have a bad day, and guess what? It's a self fulfilling proficiency. Note to peeps. NEVER marry a woman who has "pessimist" on her license plate when you meet her. Good job on the MK12!!!
I wish I knew of a way to apply "rifle wrap skrim" to a bullpup in a manner that didn't hinder its function... Because a bullpup rifle has its' charging handle moved forward of the trigger housing
If you have short ff handguard (10.5 rails on a mid gas barrel for example), you can use a Magpul bipod knurled adjustment knob as barricade stop, while you use the unfolded legs as a substitute barricade rest.
I love scopes and dots. A dot with an extra dot is awesome but having a mechanical option for the long run is the only move if you’re going for longevity. (In my opinion) it is the only sure fire way to 100% guarantee you have sights at all times.

I bought a Harris before a deployment in 2006 for like $60-70. Still have it and it still works great. The only issue (being nit picky) is that it mounts to a sling stud. Nowadays a new mlok one costs around $110.
Cvlife makes a clone of that harris bipod and i got lucky its held up to all the beating ive put it through. Qd mount locks up tight and hasnt backed out during fire. Loctite does wonders.
Yeah I have three I just use arca rails anymore so I pull all the parts and run a bolt through it to an acra adapter. The Harris has issues locking tight without the lever on heavy rifles. That stupid nut is junk on mine. I am a cv life guy now. I can get 3 for the price of a harris. Just have to lock tite and glue on the feet roll pin in. No issues shooting matches for 2 years.
@barrelandhatchet can't say they all hold up well but a bipod isn't exactly a must have or hard abuse item. Bipods are just silly expensive better to put that 300 dollars on barrel bolt or scope. I shoot more prs style than spr. So I have alot more weight on my gun and the bipod tilt gets loose moving around and the harris isn't a quick adjust on the clock unless you get a lever. Which is dumping more money into a thing I just need to use shooting a couple stages. I can't say it really matters shooting big plates but not being able to quick adjust and lock the tilt is pretty annoying on moa plates at 600 to 1000 yards.
Another point of contention or conversation should be about using 20 rd mags vs 30 rd mags in certain situations. Would like to hear y'all's thoughts on this.
My hack is more of an ergonomic one, all my rifles are sort of the same. My 3 main uppers (long 5.56, short 5.56, short 300BLK) have the same handguard, vert grip, light and switch, everything i touch when handeling is the same and all my lowers have the same grip and trigger. Instead of spending the time and money to get good with multiple trigger types i just threw a 2 stage match trigger in all my guns. The only thing different is the sighting systems, it minimizing the relearning curve i would have to do every time a picked up a different weapon. I can spend less time focusing on the rifle and more time focusing on the scope.
Similar. Schmidt 2 stage triggers are good enough and affordable enough to put them in every rig over 16" I use the 1 stage version for PCC's and shorties, but the spring weight is the same (I go for 4.5# as my standard) All my handguards get a lunar concepts hot pocket and emissary arms handbrake gripstop
