      Except the sex offenders,stay with sex offenders they keep them on one yard. I worked at a prison. People think that all inmates,go to the same,yard.
      The sex offenders, stay on a different yard,then,the regular population. Although,I wish it was different, that's how it is.

    • @rodneyscott7108
      @rodneyscott7108 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      You raised an interesting question, so I did a little research.
      1. The State of New York no longer has a death penalty.
      The range of punishment for first degree murder:
      Life imprisonment without parole
      or
      imprisonment for a term of 20 to 25 years.
      Since the death penalty was not an option, life without parole is effectively the highest possible penalty.
      So there would be no incentive for a defendant to agree to that sentence in a plea bargain arrangement.
      Since going through a trial would presumably be incredibly painful for the family of the little girl, not to mention expensive for the state, a reasonable plea agreement would make sense.
      And with a sentence of 20 years to life, he had no guarantee that he would only serve 20 years.
      While a lot of times, anything less than a maximum sentence may appear to be a miscarriage of justice, in many instances, a negotiated plea agreement for less than the maximum makes sense, especially in a situation where the guilty plea gives closure to the victim or the victim’s family. No gut-wrenching trial and no lengthy wait for a final appellate decision.
      And of course, in this case, he did serve a life sentence, albeit not the way he might have expected.

    Well, lots of comments about the Judge ... the judge did his job. 20 years to life is basically 20 years plus years and years of parole denials - the Judge knew that. The other thing the Judge knew - rapists of children sent to prison either die quickly or live in a world where everyday is a survival nightmare. Even inmates have a standard when crimes involve children.
