not gonna lie, kinda wanna see them do a game with Plutia taking Neptune's place as Planeptune goddess in an onlooker type story just because of how much she represents early SEGA
It's a bit unfortunate that she's underused tbh
Even if she had a role in the story, she's pretty much the same as Peashy rather than on the same level as Uzume and Nepgear
I really want to see all of the Ultra Dimension CPUs make an appearance in a future Nep game. Even Noire, Blanc and Vert were different enough to stand out compared to their Hyper Dimension counterparts.

@@JadenFox9 this! Like the non neptunia focused games are (imo) the best games. Mk2 was the first game I ever platinumed. And the second game to make me cry(if you know you know) and svs either purposely or accidentally made a wonderful parallel to the pandemic and the kind of issues it caused. The rise of mobile gaming as well as trendi outbreaks and chipper.
Ryza 3 did the digital deluxe costume thing too. Im a physical collector and this feels unfair and gross.
30fps on PS5 makes no sense. They gotta give us a performance option.
Many games are 30 fps this is the standard. Or do you want to tell 30 fps games are unplayable?
@@angelicplay3419 The issue is that there doesn't seem to be a good reason (visual quality and/or gameplay wise) why this game couldn't run at 60 fps on a PS5. Whether you consider 30 fps to be playable or not is personal call. Personally I always try to target 60 fps whenever possible with 30 fps being acceptable as a minimum framerate. 30 fps feels noticeably worse to play at in any game that isn't turn based.
This game should be running at 4K60 natively. We shouldn't need a performance mode for a game like this.

@@KaizAmari Gotham Knights und A Plague Tale: Requiem are running constantly on 30 FPS. Its the normal standard framerate even on PS5 you are going to see more games on normally 30 fps.
Besides the human eye can't see the difference between 30 and 60 fps. If you go straight on or turn right, left, back even if you run in a circle the gameplay experience is the same and the game is fluent. What do you say about these points?

They are too bland tbh, glad they are gone, they had their time and worst thing for the dev would be is to overload an already giant cast of characters with more characters we already know all while adding new ones.

@@avendurree To be fair, its the Ash ketchum conundrum where they had it milked for so long, that they have to throw characters straight into the abyss to `start anew again.`, even when they still keep the base characters so much they have some alternate take of them in some cases.
Which also they are already taking advantage of alternate dimensions again so they can once again have Arfoire show up again with a drastic difference and `position`, once more.
It was kind of a interesting premise with the game maker motif, even if it clearly showed some GUST company or whatever they call it these days level of polish where things feel re-used so often that you would be better off just getting some steam edition of Megadimension Neptunia V 2 which had multiple storylines and some rather sizable change ups with boss fights having MASSIVE sized bosses that did a good chunk of gameplay changing.
Even if its a spin off, they definitely clipped alot of extra fluff off with the lack of extra attacks, no unique attacks when in the transformed state and moar.
Ultimately, it doesnt even make the game look good even at a 50% off, where once again, just getting Megadimension Neptunia VII that you may even be able to get some kind of complete edition or far less then 60 bucks, dlc included i bet at this point.
Anyway, i already got Visions of Mana, Metaphor RE: Fantazio, SMTV: Vengenance (and i got the switch version so i should have the same problem i did with Persona 3 reload where i played the previous original versions of P3, P3:FES, P3:Portable and dodged Reload cause new visual looks aint gonna help), yet the actually `new` story tempts me better and i could even push for other particular titles that have way more appeal, especially when they go on discount, but im still going thru other stuff with just Octopath traveler 2 i got for around 20~25 buck to still wrap up firs thought.
Their mistake is making them more or less "an inseparable duo"
IF I can understand as her character clashes way too much with Noire and Uni
Compa on the other hand, actually filled the empty spot of the airhead big boob "healing" character
So yeah, the only answer is to fully tweak their character especially IF. Maybe do some spin-off where the focus is the og Nep-trio instead of Goddesses x sisters with a completely revamped character that would be the new "canon" character attribute
They basically contribute nothing nowadays . Compile heart decide to take them off for few game and focus on new cast are correct choice.

Probably because of the toaster called Nintendo Switch, I bet that they didn't wanted to bother with spec the games for each console separately.
@@williamzeo2493 It wouldn't be because of the Nintendo Switch. They could very easily uncap the frame rate on the console versions without affecting the Switch version. Why they didn't? Who knows.

I played the switch version. I thought it was a step up from sis vs sis, and I like the new characters.

The Atari Jaguar did have a 64-bit blitter which allowed incredibly fast sprite and polygon drawing for its time. However, it did require developers who were capable of taking advantage of it.
I dont like being dirtied by Idea Factory for choosing to buy the physical limited edition with dlc, I may as well just buy the digital versions when they go on sale for super cheap instead.
YSN points out the real cultural issues like the camera being unsatisfactory when climbing ladders, that's why I been a subscriber for years now. Keep grinding brother. 💪
Fun fact, the n64 ALSO had two 32-bit processors, that was a lie too. (and iirc sega claimed uzume had a 128 bit processor but it was 2 64 bit ones)
The N64 does have 64bit registers though but developers don’t have much reason to actually use them. There’s a great video from Kaze Emanuar (N64 programming king) on the topic. It’s funny how GameCube went back to using a 32bit CPU.
Man as much as i love Neptunia, i just cant wrap my head around why the games havent evolved much since the 2010s. We all love the characters and writing and always have, but the one issue of gameplay that we've had for years now just goes ignored for whatever reason.
I think a page could be taken from the book of Studio Gust and how theyve gradually made better and better games

Fantastic review my friend been waiting for you to do a review of this game. I really enjoyed neptunia game maker evolution. it’s honestly one of my favorite neptunia games I’ve played in years. The new characters and story was interesting and I love how adult Neptune is getting more screen time. The graphics and combat are great. Only negative thing I can say was I got very tired of characters repeating the same lines during my dungeon exploration lol. I also picked up the limited edition ps5 copy but I do wish we could buy the swimsuit dlc separately without having to buy it digitally very stupid.
Is there a way to have the game at 60fps? Don't have a 4k tv and would rather have a high framerate
the game's low framerate cap seems to be due to the incompetence of the developers. there's a modder who released a fix for the PC version of SvS day 1 that added game state interpolation and somehow the developers themselves have no clue how to handle a framerate above 50 fps. It even looks jittery at 30 in this video. If they don't figure out how to use unity soon, we're fucked.
You'd think with the release and success of Stellar Blade that these Japanese companies would stop being so afraid to include fanservice in their games especially in a series like this that used to have lots of it.
Watch Senran Kagura if you want to know what much fanservice is.
@@angelicplay3419 okay? Still doesn't change the fact that the old Neptunia games had a lot of fanservice from outfits, CGs, and the classic panty shots then the current Nep games do. Hell Neptunia U was basically a SK game and had the ripping clothes mechanic.
@@wood1066 First of all you're assuming that this change isn't coming from Compile Heart themselves which is a possibility considering that, as far as we currently know, nothing was censored/altered in the English version of this game (SvS had toned down dialogue due to IFI messing up the ESRB rating application). Secondly as this game released in August of last year in Japan there is no way that Stellar Blade would have any impact on its development. As for Neptunia U, it is a bad example because that game was partially developed by Tamsoft and given their work on Senran Kagura it's likely that at least some of the fan service in Neptunia U came from Tamsoft rather than Compile Heart.

Same. I don't see the point of all these spinoffs and strange "play it safe" moves coming from a series known for fanservice and Neps. Sony is NOT a good platform anymore for unrestricted storytelling. I'd rather they go full steam ahead on PC and Switch, where there's FAR less heavy-handedness.
Hey just wanted to say that i hope your channel picks up steam again you convinced me to get into my favorite game series disgaea when i was 13 or 14 im 20 now and just started playing 4 again and rememberd your channel it sucks your not bigger in the jrpg scene since your so descriptive and detailed with your reviews

@@MoistGal There are forks or "worst case scenario" you can get the last released versions, but anyway, there are forks now, and Ryujinx is still alive. That said, I'll wait for the Steam version.

It isn't. The SvS "censorship" happened only because IFI made a mistake when applying for an ESRB rating causing the game to release without the "Language" content descriptor. In the unboxing video for the limited edition of this game you can clearly see that the ESRB rating includes the "Language" content descriptor.

Oddly long loading times for a battle on PS5!
Kinda sucks for the consumer that publishers are so greedy with their profit maxing, they are double dipping before releasing the game on PC, where it ironically, would work the best, not to mention console exclusive things yet again. Its been 9 whole years since last mainline game and they have been milking the franchise with spinoffs ever since. I wish most fans would have a bit higher standards and held devs and publishers accountable for all these things. I like fanservice too, but come on, you gotta draw a line somewhere and think for a second.
There isn't much fanservice in Neptunia. I think you should play Neptunia games because of their characters not of the question if its mainline or not. I mean the characters are the most important in the game.

I'm just glad they're finally doing a spinoff from VII.
It gives me hope that maybe we will see the Ultra Dimension CPUs again in future game (and hopefully not as glorified cameos like in 4GO).

A shame about the lack of fanservice nowadays (and camera angles!). But then again, the Nep games have never been that fanservice-y IMO. Thanks for the review, I'll probably check this out if it arrives on PC. :)
*Edit: I also want to add that I agree about the voice actors, they're really great and a big source of the fun I've had with many of these games. :)
The first Neptunia game where i didn't enjoyed the battle system. It's such a nothing burger. It wants to be a little bit of everything and ends up being none. For a action game is WAAAAY to clunky because basic actions like dodging you have to srly equip a disc with the effect to do so in order to be able to dodge plus the AI companions sucks ass and their are always getting themself killed with me not able to do anything about it. Oh and 30fps on a PS5 in 2024 is WILD. Especially if the game isn't as demanding graphic wise as this. I give this game a 6/10 MAX.

Hot Take: Original PS3 Neptunia 1 is the best one.
Maybe if you emulate it. On original hardware each battle takes ages in part due to the abysmal frame rate. I'm honestly shocked that this franchise exists given the technical state of the first game. On top of that the characters are very awkward both in terms of writing and voice acting compared to later games.
I am not gonna lie with you YSN, I just didn’t enjoy this game. The battles and dungeons are a pain to get through, and the frame rate is bad for a PS5 game.

The time trials are pretty jankey and the bike is as well.
I have played Neptunia games better than this.
I'm sad that they tone down the fan service stuff, sure they still have their body suit in their transform state but that's different and temporary; Stellar Blade has alot more going from the clothes to climbing ladders.
I'm still gonna buy the game though, since I like Neptunia games.

Combat is like Sisters vs, so it's bad? Because I think that the combat of Sisters is totally non-functional.
Its very improved!
It does add more payoff to character switching as you try to build up meter for a super attack. Also the four party memebers as opposed to SvS three helps even things out. Characrers also perform super moves similar to coupling skills together as you chain combos. I think the battle system was greatly improved.

Combat is alot of better when u Equip special effect Disc and build your characters . It pay off more when u fully build your characters
I can't understand why most Neptunia games aren't fully voiced in English? Why are these particular phrases voiced and these are not? Perhaps it would be more profitable for them to use AI voice acting mixed with dubbing?

I'll be honest, Reducing fan service sounds pretty appealing. Makes the games more approachable to average person and just removes a part that is honestly usually is just a crutch for characterization or player retention in a game.
Fan service can be neat but, nowadays i just think that it's usually done without much real thought behind it nor taste, Which just rubs me off the wrong way.

As A PS4 Gamer, Who has both versions of this game. I Loved the original JP Version for alot of the ways it was Fresh And How the Gameplay from Sister V Sister was Fixed for being now 4 Characters instead of 3. I Had a Hard Time Figuring out The Courses That i couldn't Beat in order to get most If NOT All of the rewards from them. I am 73% Trophies done so far on The JP Version.
I HATED A LIGHT PUZZLE IN A LITERAL DUNGEON BASED DUNGEON! SO BE ON THE LOOK OUT FOR THAT, I also Hated How The Infinite tower takes Forever To Grind. I recommend that if u want to keep all of the Purple Disc's From Arfoire Tower DO NOT START NG+. I Somehow managed To Max out all Of The Different Buildings and Get alot of Victory plaza Assignments Done for making discs.
Btw JP Version is what i played First, YES I DID GOOGLE TRANSLATION.

Please provide evidence of censorship in this game. Unlike SvS this game does include the "Language" content descriptor (the lack of it in SvS was a mistake on part of IFI when they applied for an ESRB rating) so that doesn't apply to this game.

That means IFI is responsible for the ERSB ratings and rules. IFI is the CEO of the ERSB. Hmmm thats a new view. I thought if the ERSB wouldn't exuist then there would NOT be a censorship. The source of every censorship is not the ERSB its IFI.
