- Power Ranger actors Austin St. John, Karan Ashley, Walter Jones and JohnnyYong Bosch gave a panel at Awesome Con 2021 to talk about this amazing franchise, their careers and to answer fan questions.
Austin St. John played Jason Scott Lee, who was both the Red and Gold Rangers in various Mighty Morphin Power Rangers projects.
Karan Ashley was Aisha Campbell, the Yellow Ranger, in many Power Rangers projects and appeared on Class Dismissed, The Parkers and Taylor's Wall as well.
Walter Jones portrayed Zack Taylor, the Black Ranger, on Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, but has also appeared in Malibu Shores, Space Cases, The Shield and Prime Suspect.
Johnny Yong Bosch played Adam Park, the Black Ranger, in Power Rangers, but has also worked on many other projects, including voice acting for Akira, Ark Exitus, Bleach, High-Rise Invasion, Black Clover and many more.

Austin is such a leader and Johnny is hilarious, Walter is wise and Karen is the life of the party.

Power rangers were the superheroes in the 90's. RIP Yellow & White Ranger.
I always get sad when I watch stuff like this because Thuy never got to experience any of this. She never got to know how much of an icon she would become. To see the kids that loved her almost 30 years ago grow up and tell her how much she meant to them. She passed away just 7 years after she left the show at only 27 years old. She never had the opportunity to return to the show for the big anniversary style episodes either. We've never been able to see the original rangers have a reunion. And sadly JDF is gone now too so now the reunions are going to be even smaller. But at least he got to enjoy the fandom at it's fullest more than anyone in the cast got to. He knew how much he truly meant to the fans. She never did and that just makes me really sad.
May her sweet soul rest in peace. She deserves so many thank yous from us. Thank you Thuy Trang, thank you so much 🙏

@@AladeenMusic I've heard numerous accounts that Haim Saban was a notorious miser when it came to money. Sucks that he made millions while these kids worked hard and got scraps.

One of the great things about being a ranger fan is how great the ranger actors/actresses are to us all and how much they appreciate the fandom

This was really great. Everyone shined here. And we couldn't have asked for a better Yellow Ranger and Black Ranger after Walter and Thuy. The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers set a standard and bar that can't be reached. Really appreciated this panel. One of my favorites.

I saw and even met all of them except Johnny Bosch at a Power Morphicon a few years ago. JDF wasn’t there either for some reason. Austin was really nice. Walter Jones was funny as hell. He was always my favorite, especially as a black male of course. Karan was very upbeat and always smiling. Real sweet woman. Loved talking about her time on the show. I met Steve Cardenas too. Nice guy but he was clearly on a mission to sell his merchandise. Luckily I liked his character enough to get pitched into buying something from him lol. Hope to go to the next one soon. The MMPR/Zeo/Turbo era is my favorite.
Walter aka Zack was always my favorite! I’m not black but I loved his character/personality in the show growing up.

Jason, Zack, and Adam were always in my top favorite rangers besides Tommy. This was a cool panel enjoyed seeing them again.
It still hurts man. JDF was my childhood hero. I loved Tommy growing up. Hell, was still a fan into adulthood. Losing him hurt in a way no celebrity death has ever done. Like a part of my childhood had died.
Jason and Adam were great as well. Not to take anything away from any of the others, but yeah. Definitely still reeling from the shock of losing JDF.

KAren and Austin have such surprisingly good chemistry for never being on screen together. Wish we had Aisha and Jason in the same team.
I fully agree I wish the OGs would return with Aisha replacing Trini due to her death. Teaming up with a current Ranger team

Indeed, I feel the same too, mind you karan working with amy jo was just as good. Actually amy jo is my favourite power rangers actress of all time, she was so athletic and agile. There were also episodes when kim aka amy jo was the MVP of the group too. Shows that you can never underestimate the female power rangers cast members, as simple as that really.

Nice to see those Power Ranger actors on stage as if they had a reunion. Good lord!! They still look a lot sharper now like they were in their early adulthoods.
I absolutely love ALL of the Power Ranger actors... my sons introduced me to them and I was hooked.
Johnny Yong Bosch holds a special place with me bcz of his Anime voice-overs... Bleach's Ichigo Kurosaki is my absolute favorite! TriGun's Vash the Stampede is my hard second!
Wish Amy and David had been there for this. Double Black Ranger, love them both don't get me wrong. But I miss seeing Amy and David on more panels.
15 years of con appearances and we still have not gotten a full panel reunion of the MMPR cast. All this panel needs is Amy Jo, Katherine Hillard, David Yost and Jason David Frank.

Mainly its one sided, its just Jason accusing Austin of stuff but as far as I know Austin has never said anything about this and has disparaged Jason Publicly( He even said he's be willing to do a Con with him) Jdf just has a ton of ego and unfortunately we all suffer because of it

These guys are my childhood. Back in a day i thought power rangers were do cool. Johnny was my favorite ranger and later he became my fav voice actor

Had a lot of time for her too and she was even attractive as the devil too, she was my favourite ever female on power rangers of all time. Her contributions as kimberly were outstanding.
As a kid I thought Zack was a teenager for real but he was at least 22 when the first epoisde aired. If I didn't see power rangers as a kid I would think me and Walter were close to the same age but he's 14 years older.

It always gets a little awkward during these panels when the 1995 movie gets mentioned. I can tell it still bothers Walter he didn't get a chance to be in the film.

She hasn’t done anything to be a “True Inspiration “ she’s not Rosa Parks ,Coretta Scott King, or Kathleen Cleaver instead she was on Power Rangers for a season.
Never fully watched the tv series, but I enjoyed the first three movies and the episodes I saw as a kid. Good times.
Man, I was in my mid-teens when Power Rangers came out, but I didn't care! I loved it because it had a black kid that was just like me who was a HERO! I LOVED Martial Arts, I LOVED to dance and I was a comic book fan. Suffice it to say I wasn't the most popular kid in school, but seeing someone like me on TV that was hugely popular made me more confident in who I was. Walter/Zack was a role model and as there was nothing else like it in the UK, it was nice at a time in your life when you can be insecure in yourself.

I’m not a huge power rangers fan by any means, but to say I wasn’t would be a lie. I lived for this show as a kid.
I think I’d love to meet all the original living rangers, not so much because of what they represented to me then, but because of how down to Earth they are.
It’s different to hear power rangers from power rangers, because for me, power rangers was waking up, throwing my red hoodie on and pretending to be part of the fun after the show stopped.
But for the rangers it was waking up everyday at 5 for a commute to work for 16 hours of labor.
Power Rangers was a literal job lol

I read somewhere recently that Amy Jo is writing a comic based on the original team at their current ages. I wonder if she'll be including all of Mighty Morphin seasons 2 and 3 in the story. Personally, I count everyone from Mighty Morphin to Zeo as original rangers. The only series after those I like are Turbo, In Space and Dino Thunder...
From what I’ve heard I was listening to what Jason David Frank said and he mentioned Jessie OG the original from the 90s I’m not sure about the zeo because it would be a short one season probably only eight episode for it just a thought If it’s received well then it may go on longer but they never mentioned that
Excuse me, but you forgot Justin. He was counted as an original ranger like Jason, Tommy, Kimberly, Billy, Trini, Zach, Aisha, Rocky, Adam, Kat, & Tanya. That makes 12 original rangers. How and why? Because in an episode of a reality show called “My Morphing Life”, it addressed Blake Foster as one of the original Rangers, as well as a MMPR cast member.

Thuy Trang was my representation back in the 90s being they we are both Vietnamese. I admired her a lot. Very sad about her tragic accident.
