Why did you call them the liberals and the conservatives?
Everyone calls them the Optimates and Populares
Liberal really does not describe the Populares policies, besides the fact that they werent even formal political parties in the first place!

Yeah that felt like an odd choice

agreed. This seems like a poor attempt to translate the parties into US terms. If he wanted to do that "populist" and "establishment" (or oligarchs) would be a better translation (you can have conservative and liberal populist/establishment politicians as we have recently seen)

You know that now you have to make an entire playlist of the Roman Empire till 1453

It would be nice if you could add the story of Lupa at the beginning and also explain Romulus’s family tree because it really confuses me. Also your videos are the most engaging history videos I’ve seen.

That family tree is non existent. It's a myth. They used it as a link to Troy. Troy's losers went to north africa; settled for a while before going to Italy - there they supposedly founded the city of rome.

      @@TheSuperhoden Thanks for the clarification

Why narrate the mythological founding instead of the historical one?

The ancient world's largest empire. Somehow carved out 100% in self defense.
    Fancy that.

Ceasar came back to rome while sully was still in charge. He was given leniency.

The Roman political parties were the Optimates and the Populares. While there, they weren't driving forces in the same way they are today and were only roughly equivocal. Using modern names is a false correlation and potentially intellectually dishonest.

At the time of the ancient Roman republic, was it possible to run a small business successfully? The republic of the United States of America is crumbling at this point, and running a small business safely is no longer possible to do at this point(at least not in San Francisco). Are there any other countries where running a small business successfully can be done from?

Ironic how the political parties of Rome were quite similar to today the only difference is the elite are normally more liberal and the poor being conservative not the other way around.

Romelus and remus is a myth, rome was a combination of several villages of the seven hills around, 1000 to 900 bc. The myth was written down in the 4th century to link themselves to Troy.

"The liberals, backed by the poor and the conservatives, backed by the elites."
Truer words have never been spoken
