    Proof of work experience is usually still required, even if the applicant has studied in the community. In order to be exempt from the work experience requirement and not need to prove your hours, the applicant must have completed a full 2 year diploma. The key is it must be a 2 year program.

      Just had a quick question which I wanted to ask and hence I was looking for live sessions.
      In When does your status expire in Canada what do we write if we are on implied status due to Work permit extension. Trying to apply BOWP now.
      Do we write down the temporary work permits expiry date or something else? Because my pgwp is already expired so cant mention that.

    • @sjpimmigration

      Right, and you are on valid status if it’s been maintained. This questionnaire is likely just trying to determine whether they should charge a fee for restoration or not. If you’re on valid maintained status, you shouldn’t have to pay restoration, so I may just enter a date that the interim work authorization gives you until, and add Letter of Explanation of course in your client information.

      This video provides guidance and shows you from my perspective how I’d approach the application as an Immigration professional. Everyone’s case is different and for all DIY applicants I do always recommend at least an application review to have an experienced set of eyes review the application to avoid any mistakes. Immigration is very subjective, so these videos serve as guides, not immigration advice.

    Hey,
    I have a quick question. My open pgwp expired a month ago. I got the invitation in CEC a week ago. I have applied for cec and got the letter of acknowledgement. I got a lmia earlier for pr supporting. I have maintained my current status with applied work permit lmia based. As i was supposed to get a new lmia so i can get an approval on new work-permit but i didn’t since, i got the invitation and filed my application for pr can i apply for BOWP?
    If yes can i know which one to select 1) work permit (in canada)
    2) open work permit
    I am getting these two options after answering question. I also have a valid job offer.

    I have already applied for my PR under RNIP and am still waiting for our AOR. Currently, I am under an Open Work Permit, my partner is under a Closed Work Permit, and our daughter is under a Student permit. I have read on the website that as an open work permit, my employer doesn't need to submit an offer of employment in the employer portal to get a number for my work permit application. However, I would like to ask if my partner can apply for an open work permit as an RNIP applicant spouse given that he is currently under a closed work permit. Or for him to apply for an open work permit, I would need to apply for an RNIP 1-year work permit. I called the RNIP coordinator and they confirmed that I don't need to apply for 1-year open work permit and my partner can already apply for an open work permit using the AOR from our application. Can you confirm if that's correct? Does my daughter need to apply for new study permit (minor)?

    • @sjpimmigration
      @sjpimmigration  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I can’t confirm that and this situation is far too complex with circumstances that vary. I cannot give specific immigration advice without all the details answered meeting with you. It depends on many factors including the expiry dates of your status’ etc, work your involved in, nationality sometimes and more
      I note that an AOR is required to apply for a closed C15 WP, and for your spouses open, I’d imagine it would be based on your status as well per C17.
      If your open permit is for longer than your spouse, you possibly can extend on that basis as long as your working, as a spousal open work permit, although you must be working and meet the other requirements for your partner to get a spousal open work permit. www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/temporary-residents/foreign-workers/public-policy-competitiveness-economy/c41-c46.html
      Your daughter should qualify for a SP based on the valid work status of parents, as a dependent and with admission to a school.
      FYI. Until you have your COPR, you need to maintain valid status in Canada, that includes your whole family.

    Off topic : My boyfriend is applying through the Francophone Mobility Program, they ask for a letter of employment and a employment record. He gets paid by cash....so For the employment record section, can he simply add the letter of employment in that section since it already states how much he gets paid approximately per year? Should he add a letter in the client information mentioning the taxes the business pays per year and the fact that the company don't offer cash slips? So that the immigration officer knows?

    • @sjpimmigration
      @sjpimmigration  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Like physical cash? Never encountered this, but if employer writes reference, and he has proof he’s paying income tax on his cash, I don’t see the issue.

      If there’s no other work permit you can apply for, you can either apply for a baseless work permit extension that will be refused to maintain your status for sometime until you receive the AOR then apply again, convert to visitor status until you’re eligible to apply for C15 RNIP WP, leave the country and apply when eligible, or if there is another extension that would apply to you, take that path.

      I have not as a full rep. Nobody can guarantee or confirm a decision by IRCC, not reps and not lawyers. I can say I believe this video is the most comprehensive one available for a DIY applicant. Everyone’s circumstances are different and I always recommend at a minimum, a review from a licensed consultant to ensure you’re not overlooking anything, I’ve made my review services a cost effective alternative to full representation. There are specific things unique to RNIP eligibility to consider, but there are also general work permit and immigration considerations that consultants like myself are very familiar with. I would recommend you do follow these steps as I don’t think there’s better guidance out there today, but you should at a minimum have your work verified!
