Here’s a track made for the Hardware Jams weekend challenge. This week our theme is ”Creative Cabling”. Here’s the streamthrough with all entries: th-cam.com/video/w120scu_lfY/w-d-xo.html For me, the timing for this challenge couldn’t have been worse. I’m traveling with only a sampler, a recorder and a cable to connect them with. So I pushed myself to figure out a couple different ways to use the cable. I’ve spent a week in Berlin. I’ve made quite a few field recordings. Many of the sounds (apart from the drums) come from these recordings, treated with the fx on the sp-404. The jam is also very much inspired by Berlin techno vibes. ”Many small people who in many small places do many small things - that can alter the face of the world”, text from the Berlin Wall. Zoom H5 recorder used for recording both the samples and the jam. Video edited in LumaFusion. ”Ma
LOVE the 2:38 and more, super ambiance and sounds. Ja Berlin !!!!!! I go twice in this City and feel here all the power of this inspiration.🤗🔥🔥🔥🔥🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
The video and sound combination is fantastic. This piece is one of those "small things" that has altered the face of the world (or at least the internet)! 🙂👍
@@刘金婷-d9p thank you! It was surprisingly straight forward: a short tap on the cable giving a sharp electric buzz. That sound sequenced into straight 16th notes. Run through the filter, added some drive, played with cutoff and resonance.

Agreed! Berlin really changed the way I think.
SP404 MKII ❤

Talking about making most of a situation! Berliinivibat kuuluu hyvin. Ja kaapelisoolo! Ässä veto!
Kiitos! Tää oli hauska haaste, ja Berliini inspiroi kovasti!
Amazing

Thank you! I think the quote fits making these little jams very well!
Ooooh, love that kick! Cable noises sound wicked too.
Thank you! The kick is two sp404 factory samples layered together. One goes Boom and the other one Crack.
Epic and super creative! Wow😲
Thank you! It was fun to think of stuff to do with such a limited setup.
🤘🤘🤘 Great inspiration Berlin was 😍
Thanks! Berlin techno vibes certainly made a difference here.
Pretty cool! Shocked to hear 4 on the floor from you. lol
I know! About time I tried my hand at this. First acid line I ever try, and it’s played with a cable.
LOVE IT
Thank you! It’s fun to try new things.
congrats! well done jam, well deserved win
Thanks! Winning the challenge was a surprise!
Creative stuff! Cable solo was a stroke of genius.
Thanks! I’m kind of bummed out I didn’t check where my camera was pointed during the solo.
Very well done!
Thank you! Glad you liked it.
Nice work, especially with your limitations. Enjoyed it. 👏🏻
Thanks very much! At first I felt pretty disheartened by the challenge, but I’m happy to have worked through it.
Fantastic jam and great idea to use the cable as an instrument. 😃
Thanks! Glad you liked it! I never would have thought of that without the challenge.
@@psykheart And in my jam I thought about how I could prevent this noise when I try to repatch things live. LOL
@@earthfriend embrace the noise!
Brilliant solutions, great track. Sometimes the less is more, and here the less is huge. Your bass sound and the solo is epic. 👏👏👏
Thank you! Much appreciated. I haven’t done a lot of minimal techno before.
That was an awesome sounding 404 jam considering the creative routing of your travel plans!
Thank you! The challenge certainly put the setup to the test.
That's amazing - love how you pulled this together despite being away from the studio with just a couple of cables!
Thanks! Limitations bring out creativity.
hi,how did you use sp404mk2 to create an acid sound? so interesting

@@psykheart wow! very creative!
This is great, love the combination of the field recordings and techno vibes! How do you like the SP404mk2?
Thanks! I’m loving the sp404 mk2. I used to have an sp404 and I’ve missed it a lot. This feels like coming home and finding new additions there.
