    This was hands down the most informative video I’ve seen on case management. I’ve worked as a RN for 7 years and have recently applied to 2 different insurance companies for this position. I’m nervous that I won’t get the position due to not having case management experience, but it is something I’m interested in pursuing.

    Thank you for this video, Bri! It was very informative on the skills and professionalism of a RN case manager, in which otherwise I never would've known about. It takes a kind, gentle, and caring heart to take care of others, either in a physical or verbal supportive matter. And you possess many of those great qualities! I pray that God will continue to bless you for your goodness in heart and faithfulness! I love you my awesome sister in Christ!

      @@classy937 I hope you find relief from your migraines! I have migraine headaches too & have forced myself to make time to seek new treatments for it to help me have a better quality of life. As a nurse, I've put that off & suffered. I finally made a neurologist appointment & they suggested Ajovy injection, & I am a couple weeks out from my first shot & NO MIGRAINES! it feels great to have this kind of relief.

    I am currently a case manager....and have been one since 2017...i cant stand it anymore. My job just puts waaay too much work on us now. It wasnt like this when i first started. Its just way too much work they put on us. Wish u much success!

      I know exactly what you mean. I work from home and my company expects us to open a certain number of cases and apply certain interventions based on POC. It is a ton of work. Crazy workload but Im still hanging in there. I wish you much success as well!

      I tried it as well & hated it. It wasn't a 40 hour work week. They wanted so much work that was way more than 8 hours a day. I quit & went back to the bedside.

    Very informative. I’m a RN with over 20 years hospital experience - multiple units. I have accepted a CM job for the 1st time working for a commercial insurance health plan. I’m sure a lot of these people will have chronic health problems. I’m just trying to get a feel of what a day is like, what your case load is and how you manage your case load.

    Thank you for explaining what you do. I feel like there's a lot to learn. I just recently got a job offer for inpatient CM. Do you think inpatient CM is necessary before doing ambulatory CM or outpatient CM?

  • @Chrissytrue
    @Chrissytrue 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Your video was definitely insightful. I am currently a hospice RN case manager looking to which to insurance. In hospice everything is symptom management and a holistic approach spiritual, social and other stuff. I feel lost when it comes to the insurance side. I understand that it is assessment and looking for that need and coordinating services but the Medicare/Medicaid part I am confused about.

    • @classy937
      @classy937  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      So getting into the insurance industry can be difficult. You just have to apply for the job. I was very fortunate. Medicare is a federal program that provides health coverage if you are 65 or under 65 with a disability no matter the income. Medicaid is a state and a federal program that provides health coverage if you have a very low income.

      Briana BSN RN thank you for breaking that down. I appreciate it! I have 2 interviews with 2 big insurance companies soon for RNCM working in the field 75%. I am praying 🙏🏾 everything goes good.

    Thank you. You explained each category very well. Do you have any tips on what programs you personally use to stay organized? Like Outlook, your company's computer charting, Excel, MS word, or something else. What combination works well for you?

    • @classy937
      @classy937  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For me I use calendars, dates, and times to stay organized. I also chart in word then I chart in my insurance company’s computer system which is Jiva.

    Hi. How useful would you say it is to get a masters for this type of work?

    • @classy937

      I would say a masters is useful if you want to be a manager or go into administration but do not need it to be a case manager.

    Hey! I really loved this video, it was very informative & helpful . I just want to know if i can do this right out of nursing school, because now that I’m in nursing school… i already know that bedside is not for me. So do we need experience in the hospital prior to doing this, or i can do this straight out of nursing school? I also like home health nursing so that can be my “experience” prior to doing case manager nursing but that may the only option i have if i truly want to get experience prior.

    • @classy937
      @classy937  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You probably need one year of some hands on care and then transition to case management so you can better understand POC of and goals for the patients regarding discharges.
