It honestly depends on how the developers optimize the game if the game will be able to run 4k 60 on hardware that came out a generation or two ago.Newer games get optimized primarily for the latest hardware,but that doesn't mean older gpu's can't handle newer games if the specs are good enough.There are also driver updates that usually fix things like this aswell.

I don't understand gaming at 4k when 1440p monitors are cheaper and 1440p is easier to run. I personally game at 1080p but I think if I upgrade 1440p is the sweetspot.
If anything, 4k is just a buzzword. Pc gamers still game at 1080p/1440p, and most console players are willing to play games at those resolutions as long as they get good framerates. Even on the development side, native 4k is just really demanding and strenuous, which is why a lot of devs use 4k upscaling tech like DLSS

There's always a sale. I've got around 55 games plus almost all of their dlc's and have only spent 200-220 for all of them. Even if I bought old games for ps it'd have cost me 200 for 10 games, with maybe one dlc. Besides... I actually cried playing some of my favorite older games emulated on the PC. So much nostalgia from my childhood, man. You can't get that on console... With their crappy backwards compat.
The thing is most people take the performance of the most demanding games there are, like Cyberpunk as a baseline for the performance of any game when they're comparing or reviewing gpu's
been playing on a Gaming Laptop i owned since 2015-16. it's got GTX 980M and i it still runs new releases with a decent performence. if you can't afford a high end PC save money until you can buy what you want. the pandemic right now is the best time to do so.
It's a solid CPU, and trades blows with intels 11th gen. No, it's not the top of the line anymore, but it's still a very solid CPU, and if you are upgrading from an i5 4670, you are definitely getting a really solid performance boost.
If you can get it, then go ahead, it's a 12 core CPU that can go toe to toewith an 11th gen intel CPU. Make sure you get a motherboard that has the bios update and is compatible with the CPU.
The 5600X is a solid 6 core cpu that'll work great with any gpu you currently throw at. I have a 5900X/6800XT on my gaming pc. If you're looking to save some money though Intel can offer similar performance for less.
I have a 3070, I mostly game at 1440p but occasionally 4k (depends on the game and framerate). My buddy has a 1070 and gets nearly as good picture quality. He basically lags behind only in frames and lack of RT (not many games with RT). My point is the same games I’m killing are very playable for him in the same resolution. He has no plans to upgrade yet, and he’s had his 1070 for years... like since they came out.

Sorry, Joe. Great video and good points... but..... The RTX 3090 is £1499 via Nvidia. AIB cards are around £1800. The cost in number, not value is around the same. The 3080 is £649 from Nvidia. Scalped prices are around £3000 for the 3090.
Countering a point here. Cyberpunk on the new consoles is fine right now. The issues are and have always been PS4 and Xbox One (2013 models) It plays okay on PS4 pro and Xbox One X by console standards but I am enjoying it on Xbox Series S without any major issues.
If anything the 30 series nvidia graphics cards got me further into pc gaming. After getting a 3070 prebuilt that is normally in the ballpark of $3000 for cheap. In theory the 3070 is a spectacular value the performance of the 2080 at midrange price. I had a laptop with a 1060m and the leap between the two is huge. Pc gaming is more expensive but the value proposition of pc gaming is larger than a console. In theory pcs can last way longer than a console can and the modularity of pcs help the value proposition

So he's basically saying the new console's littlerly won't be able to run modern games at any sort of playable framrate or settings. You would definitely need some agressive dlss at 8k ultra, like dlss ultra performance with a 3090, but the new 4090 does a much better job at native 8k and can play litterly every game even like Cyberpunk (and I bet even forspoken) at 8k Ultra with dlss ultra performance and just to be clear dlss ultra performance 8k still looks way better than native 4k and looks litterly almost the same as native 8k. Dlss does a disgustinly good job when it comes to image quality.

1440p is great. I have an ultra-wide and I am running RE:8 at max at over 70 fps. Which 3440x1440 is about 2K.

My 2070 can Cyberpunk at 1440p at up to 100 FPS depending on how I push the settings. My kid is using that card now.

Meanwhile ps5 runs the game at 60 fps, but at 60 fps and you play at 55 fps average at 2 graphic presets higher. High instead of low.
