    I loved seeing the early morning one in winter. It dropped the day’s quota of empty trucks at about 7 am at our farm. The steam would hang in the still morning air like a low level cloud snaking along the flats towards Maroochy River. This brings back so many memories. Thank you so much. 😍🚂

    Good colour. I suppose the locos had steam brakes and no brakes on the wagons. Emergency stops?. Motorists were probably more sensible then.

      maybe there were simply fewer motorists, and roads only suitable for lower speeds. I visited Nambour in 1984 (out of cane season) and vividly remember seeing a long string of empties being hauled along the street. What 8 year old train fan would ever forget such a thing? Glad you posted this video.
