Saw you guys on the bonus bucks sale, great that you were able to lock in profit. Really like the old school collectable breakdown vibe on these vids, reminds me of channels like old alphainvestments or reserved investments
Great take, you got a new sub here. I recently started a side hustle with sealed product and this was great reinforcement info! I made video on this Sunday thinking it was some market manipulation tactics but this makes total sense!
Enjoyed the vid! Smart move on your end. Historically in market cycles like these cash flow is even more vital to success than normal. Especially with all the noise around these upcoming sets besides just prismatic
This is a fantastic video. Thanks for the insight. The amount of people I’ve seen make dumb comments about why you guys are leaving potential profits on the table is mind numbing.
With your finance background, do you see the outrageous demand for a product that supply is shrinking by the day? and what do you think the future holds, if the demand for it continues as it is now without a reprint coming? I plan to hold my cases until we hit 300 per BB or even further
I see a red hot product made by a company that loves money. We can all rationalize when and where a reprint will come, but none of us know. The only certainty is that it's coming. Does that matter long term? Most likely not.
Congrats on selling out. Genuine question my understanding was that you didn’t put that on sale until the end of the weekend sales event and I think the guy was confused on why didn’t you put that on sale on day one for a bit more? Or did you not sell out as of yet sorry he deleted his video so I’m a little confused
Well, wealthy people didn't become wealthy by not taking risks, unless they were born into it. If you are trying to preserve capital, then yeah your move is the right one.
Banana stand came in near the end with 300 from what I saw. Whats interesting is the total sales number in the graph has gone down, so I dont know if the data is wrong or if its related to cancellations. We did not have any issues.
Profit is profit! Cant complain! Just don’t kick yourself in the butt if this ends up pulling an evolving skies situation in the deep future. Looking at around 11 thousand in profit versus like 250 thousand. Assuming you had 500 booster boxes.
Part of the reason for doing it is we are sitting on about 65 cases of sleeved booster boxes so we still participate in upside, we are just hedged now and can roll into less expensive products. I agree it can turn into Evolving 100% and I hope it does. We are also happy to make folks day with a discounted buyin.
I guess you're the one that sold all those boxes, didn't know lol. I guess I'm a Timmy. My point of the video was not to argue how you should have run your business. It doesn't affect me at all; and in fact it didn't even affect the market because it sold out it an hour and market price is back up to $210. I was just surprised someone would dump hundreds of boxes and sell for $30 under market the last day of the TCGPlayer sale instead of selling at the beginning of the TCGPlayer sale for lets say $190-$200. During the whole duration of the sale, these boxes were selling all day for $205-$215. I was speaking from my point of view how I believed the seller (didn't know it was you) could've probably sold for $10-$20 more and still sell out pretty quickly. Surging sparks is not going to get reprinted in for at least a couple of months because it's so new. So I believe there will still be good growth before it gets reprinted since this is the most popular main set we've seen so far. I even mentioned in my video but I said something along the lines of "whoever the seller was and if they were able to get it for around $100, they still did very well." You have distribution so you bought for probably less than that and probably doubled your money. No hate to that! Happy some people were able to get a deal on surging sparks booster boxes and take advantage of the TCGPlayer sale as well!
I actually enjoyed your video and this wasnt in response to your video at all, it was intended as an educational video on how I think about things. I enjoyed the thumbnail and commentary. Keep making content, I watch as much as i can! The overall situation was a bit more complex than "why sell $30 under market" and why day 4 versus day 1.
People tend to focus on the economics, but offering a discounted price to the community in this situation is a win across the board. I would encourage everyone to join the discord for future sales notifications.
600 boxes @ $100 a box from distro(round numbers sake). $55 profit after shipping and fees (guesstimate). Did you profit $30K in a day with a $50K investment? Probably over that because I bet my distro number is way high, and my fees/shipping is probably off. Sounds like a winnnner
It really depends on the situation. Most distro is set up to accept CC and as long as its paid within the month no harm no foul. We are a cash business so tend to pay things down immediately.
I wouldn't buy alot of rift lol 😆 it's not the same as surging lol I wouldn't buy either one you got lucky with surging I think man I would just wait for pragmatic evolutions
Regardless of how you try to rationalize it as a smart decision and how rich people think. If you sold them at $198 which was still $10 below market they would have been gone in 24 hours. You are the Timmy that lost out on an extra $17 per box after fees. You even mentioned yourself you didn't expect them to sell out in an hour, so you clearly didn't understand the market at the time and how quickly boxes were selling on TCGplayer.
Ya no one cares tbh. Market gobbles it and timmy were waiting for it. Dont u serstand why you undercut so hard. Just set your profit taking levels and thats it
You should have charged $181.99 and bought yourself cough drops.
lol agreed
😂😂😂
Lol what a dick
Lol saw folks talking about what turned out to be your sales. Small world, love it. Thanks for the wisdom!
We assumed it would happen and had intended to publish the video anyway. What we didnt expect was the boxes to blow out so quickly.
Nobody ever went broke taking profits

love hearing you talk man thanks for the video
Its a bit of a different more business focused point of view. Everyone starts generally at the bottom and the mindset helps all shapes and sizes.
you love all the coughing?

Nice commentary and explanation, I enjoy hearing about market psychology! 👍 Keep it up!

Subscribed. Loved the video
New subscriber. Enjoyed the video. Thanks!
Very informative video.
It’s not a Timmy mentality, it’s the mentality of someone who doesn’t have access to 900 boxes of surging……
Everyone starts somewhere and turning wins into losses significantly hinders the generation of wealth in general.
That's definitely not true either
the market eating up all those boxes is incredible. i think i speak for all investors when i say thank you. everybody wins, except the haters

You should go get that checked out

It is never a bad idea to take profits and risk off the table.
I’ll gladly buy cases so they don’t just get dumped on the market in mass.
I think this video is great - do you have a website to buy directly from you?
Join the discord its easier and has much more info there but yes anontcg.square.site/s/shop we recently set up, we will list more products shortly.

You sound like me, good shit, I was actually selling them at 185 for a few weeks now. And buying paradoix , stellar and base set

How many of those boxes were yours? People were saying there were a couple different sellers.

Just say you underestimated demand. Sold in an hour. Lozenge please. Geez
Good on you for selling at a fair price under market.

the other guy on youtube is fuming 🤣
No he's not. He simply said he's surprised. Why sell at 170 when they are going for 205. Was his only point.
Invest in s and s seta like silver tempest ar 140 even I'll but your boxes of surging tho
I bought 2 at 93.50 sold both together at 370
And got 4 paradox rifts booster boxes

Selling at 180$ nets 144$ after shipping and fees. 10% discount turned into 33%. Now that’s a massive oof no matter how much you made on this deal
@@justinalexander4166 Yeah I completely forgot about taking off the 13% from the $180. A bad move gets even worse.
