I've had the same ice cap gyre in my Red Sea E260 for a year now..Cyano doesn't get the chance to settle on the bottom or anywhere else really. Random mode at 60% max.my fish did exactly the same as yours, like it's a more natural experience for them. I'm broadcast feeding Red Sea Reefpower plus to the corals, soak mysis shrimp in it before feeding. Been a month doing this and the results are very favorable..good growth, vibrant color..fish look happier.
Very informative video. Thank you. I have the same pump in my 32 Biocube and it has been really great. A bit off topic but I'm wondering what skimmer is that you have in Chamber 1. ???
HI Barry, Thanks for the comment and question. The skimmer you see in this video is the BioCube Mini Protein Skimmer. It didn't work very well so I replaced it with the Tunze 9001 (I have a video on installing both of those) which worked better but not great. I just purchased the new updated BioCube Protein Skimmer with a needle wheel core and I will be installing that one soon. I'll post on this new one as well. It's hard to find a small one that works real good.
If you want the gyre to push and pull the water (alternating flow), you need to purchase an opposite directional propeller and cage. This is a bit misleading in their promotions as it says it is capable of reversing, which it is but you have to modify the propellers. If you don't add the opposite direction propeller, the stock gyre will run in reverse, but only create turbulence until ti reverses again. I set mine to a pulse mode and it provides a similar effect.
For such a small Chanel you have helped me find what I want to use in my biocube more than all the others. Thanks you.
