Ran it that way for about a month... had a local machine shop machine me a piece of aluminum and a backplate...... but in the video- that's actually 1/2 inch plastic... actually- a high heat cutting board is the material used... I think it would have worked long term- but did the aluminum.
I am picking up a 2012 Voyager Thursday. I have been into customizing bikes since 2008. Believe it or not but plexiglass makes a nice back plate for air filters. You can paint the backside what every color you want and it gives a cool effect. Also you can position LEDs to where it gives a glow off from the plexiglass. I am going to grow my own for the Voyager and I'll do a video to share it to you. Very important to have hobby scroll saw to do correctly. People always say wont it crack? Honestly I have built and sold a few and been running dual filter with plexiglass on my M109R for 25000 miles and they are still holding on just fine. Thanks for all of your videos.
@@metricOIL no problems with heat use 1/2 inch or thicker. The one I am picking up is the white with gold. I am going to wrap the entire bike. Trying to decide on a color.
Nice job what kind of material did you use to make that spacer want to do something like this ?

Hey where can I order the air filter backplate
Had a l9cal company make it
This filter does not filter. You kill the engine.
Why do you say it doesn't filter?
MEtricoil.com Unlike an OEM filter, it does filter smaller particles that is harmful for the engine.
