Very happy to see a video like this as I cringe every time people talk about rehab as though it is a cure; For people who are self medicating trauma (estimates vary that this is 55-95% of addicts have untreated trauma that they may or may not even be aware of). I do want to speak on Iboga. It is not a sure thing. It is not magic. This is a topic i cover on the channel I started 3 years ago after my son died from an overdose two months after a 9 month inpatient stay at a place called Sober College (is now a school for addiction counselors)). This was a really great and innovative program, but its major flaw was its emphasis on 12 steps and no treatment for trauma. In my opinion, trauma treatment should be the core and AA should be optional, and it is my theory that by treating trauma addictions ons are going to no longer be necessary.. Iboga is very effective in relieving withdrawal symptoms but that is just the beginning. There is still the same issue of dealing with why you started using in the first place. Bottom line is that nothing is going to work until the addict decides they are done, and then they will do whatever it takes.

Id give anything to be able to just move away and get away from all this. Good job, man. You kicked it and you're healthy and completely self aware and seem happy. :) maybe ill be there one day soon, your videos are awesome.

Tried it. Moving does nothing you have to get to the root of it.

I wish I had enough money to do "rapid detox". They put you to sleep, & when you wake up a few days later, your physical WD symptoms are over.

It's good to remember the pains of detox, helps in the future when we think of going back to whatever we're detoxing from.

I've don't all the psychs and stopped shit drugs for a while but relapsed. The final nail in the coffin for me was looking back at all the time that I've wasted doing nothing. 10 years and nothing to show except knife scars and broken teeth.

Cool video, man. I've been clean 5.5 years and have a mental health/addiction recovery channel. I've been doing some videos on alternatives as well.

What do you know about Ayahuasca and treating addiction? Is this similar to the Iboga?

I believe it’s illegal in Canada as well. There is a Shaman who risks his freedom to do it in Canada.

I would love to be able to quit! I’m doing very little as it is and it’s so hard to let go. Mainly the RLS, and anxiety. I’m so afraid bc i have a family and I have to work.

i believe in God but for those that dont a doornob is not a higher power. i would hope they have a higher self esteem than to think a doornob is a higher power.
