You guys should have checked out the roadshock edge lights while you were there. 100 for the 4pod 150 for the 6 and they're basically Baja designs replicas. They have been awesome for me so far.
Head-to-head, the 6-pods have more even coverage and do a better job than genuine LP-6s, as well as excellent side flood coverage. Hazard Fraught is serious about off-roading. Love my Bandland 12000, it's saved my bacon a few times.
I love the Apex, have it on my Gladiator. I have seen them on so many channels, including MORR, and they use them on EVERYTHING and they haven't had an issue with them.
Good advice, I've seen Badlands winches around, but didn't realize they were Harbor Freight. Checked on line, and it's a decent price for what you got.
i bought one a couple years ago. i did a lot of research and could find no one who had a problem. i am very happy with my badland 12k and i got to keep my left nut...
Great winch, had one for 4 years on my son's Jeep. Going to get another one for Jeep I just bought. I strongly recommend you trim the bumper if it rubs the winch to avoid cracking the electronics box when under heavy load.
The battery terminal expanders have to be mounted after BMS sensors on specific vehicles equipped with them, or the charging system won't function properly. If the vehicle has an AGM battery, it has a BMS system.
You are precisely correct! Our upcoming Battery Terminal Expansion Kit installs and integrates seamlessly with the OE intelligent battery system (IBS) sensor on all JLs & JTs for efficient smart alternator charging under heavy loads. Stay tuned as we'll announce when our kit is ready! Cheers from the team at EPIC!
Love your video, this was the first video of ya'lls I've seen, I love the jeep I need one for my 2020 JT, and I love harbor Freight!! and plus love the battery terminals!!!
Thanks for checking us out! Appreciated! If you liked this video, our other ones are pretty much the same lol ;-) Our battery terminal extension blocks will be coming soon!
I’ve had my APEX on for 4 years now. Pulled a f250 about 50ft up a sandy hill… the rear tire was stretched sideways across the wheel making it an anchor. Pulled it up with ZERO issues. I was sold. Been using it since without a hiccup.
Need those terminal parts! I was just about to buy stuff to jerry rig something but those look at lot cleaner. Need a newsletters so I can get the notice when they drop.
Thanks for watching and commenting! We're looking to have those battery terminal extension blocks for late February. Stay tuned to our socials for the announcement! Cheers!
Thanks for watching! The battery terminal extension blocks are designed specifically for the JL/JT - custom fit, so they probably won't work in a JK unfortunately.
Don't knock the magnetic controller, I've got the same winch on my gladiator, I stuck my which controller on my steel bumper, lost track of it, drove about 40 miles back home and had a really good 'face palm' when it was still stuck on the bumper. Love the winch, it's been flawless since I've had it, used it to pull me out and over places, others, and a couple of stumps that needed to be elsewhere.
I had a Warn VR Evo 10,000 on my Grand Cherokee (WK2), and paid twice as much for that as I did for the Hazard Fart Badland on my new JL. The VR Evo was overpriced junk and I couldn't wait to be rid of it. Meanwhile the Badland has worked first time and every time on my JL. It's got a faster line speed than the Evo too, which is great, and I think the 12,000 pound rating is likely extremely conservative. LOVE the song--who's it by and can I download it somewhere? I want to put this on a loop when I go cruisin' for Icon hand tools. Also, the Roadshock 6-LED lights will beat the pants off Baja Designs LP-6s hands-down, for $150 a pop.
dang, just bought some cheap JL / JT "L" shaped battery post extenders from Amazon, have not installed them yet, they are going in the trash, I'm going to wait for yours to come out!
Could have bought a SmityBilt Gen 3 - 12 K synthetic . Ginger you should have drove to Harbor Freight with an Armoured car. Think of the things you could have brought home, like their Atlas 80V cordless or 50cc gas, 18 inch chain saw.
@epic-4wd is the torque really 33LB on the 4 mounting bolts to that winch ?and 76LB on the fair lead wouldn’t it be the other way around ? What did you Torque the mounting bolts to ?
There is no other winch I would run. My single compliant is the free spool. Definitely not as easy as some other premium brands but everything else? Equal. I’ve had 2. Both left outside uncovered. Both submerged a couple times. YEARS of use. Hundreds of uses. First one I believe is still working(zxr), sold that vehicle in 2020. My 2020 gladiator is in its first apex. Second line. Less relevant for Canada but for me, the fact that if by some chance it does fail, I can replace it no matter where I am in the country on the same day and still have money for a 3rd before I reach the dollar amount I’d spend on a warn means I’ll run apex forever. Using the hook it came with. I personally love it. Haven’t made the switch so factor55 or just soft looping. Maybe one day.
We haven't tested them heavily ourselves yet - soon. So we'll do a follow-up. The price worked out, even with the terrible Canadian dollar. Cheers from the team at EPIC!
They had 12 days of deals for Christmas and I picked mine up for $380 US with sales tax for my jlu. Haven’t pulled anything heavy but the quality is there.
It does suck very hard. Our dollar is doing poorly right now for a myriad of reasons. Even tho - this winch was still the cheapest option for us. Can't wait to test it out.
Has to be the stupidest most ignorant comment on any off-road TH-cam video. That winch has been proven MANY times over. You're just a warn fan boy who thinks you have to spend $2k on a winch for no reason. Grow up
The Harbor Freight song was totally a great comedic touch.
Ha Ha... AI is scary lol.
@ yet we still charge head first into the abyss!
😂 insane

We shall see! Cheers from the team at EPIC!
That battery wiring widget is the actual balls! I want one!
Just calm down sir. Chill. We will have them available shortly. They are the bees knees.

Good winch. I also have a Badland Apex 12k synthetic on my 2 door JK Willys and have pulled somewhere around 13 vehicles out with it.
Turning ginger loose in a Harbor freight could be dangerous.
It was nuts. I had to force him to stop touching things and leave lol.

Epic and easy battery upgrade, I need one.

I didn’t see this coming. The song was a good touch.

I love my Badland 👍
Haha. I went to Harbor Freight and told them their sign was spelled wrong. Could spend a lot of time there.
ha ha we said the same thing - they didn't understand. Cheers from the team at EPIC!
Did you guys actually get thru a a video without any Toyota bashing 👏👏😆😆
It was tough, but we did it! Cheers from the team at EPIC!
Love the song
I may have to take a trip down there and get one of those snatch blocks myself!
Project farm has a test on the winches…. The badlands ain’t half bad
I don’t need one where I’m at. No trees in the desert really

Heard the winches are bad ass, but you might need to change that rope.

Where are you guys in Canada? Fellow Canadian Jeeper
We are in Port Kells area of Surrey, BC. Check out our website at epic-4wd.com
Hi
Im from Canada also and im planning on getting one.
What was your total cost in Canadian dollars?
Thanks 😊
$599 USD plus the exchange rate. The Canadian dollar is getting worse as the days go by tho ;-)
@EPIC-4WD Did you have to pay anything at the border?
Thanks 👍
Are you guys going to be a vendor for that Yankum fairlead?

We don’t need no stinking winches 😅

You could have harbor freights if you "JOIN US"
LOL! You could have free healthcare (that you have to wait months and months for when you need it) if you "JOIN US".
@@EPIC-4WD That was my Alien voice "join us" lol. I enjoy the 2dr series guys. It hurt me seeing you drill through all that fresh paint.

Soft shackles is a great guess as it takes a possible weak point out of chain and potential missle out as well if shit happens its what id do
Which bumper have you got there, please?
The Metalcloak modular bumper with the capped crawler end caps for fog lights.

All that money in those jeeps and you’re going to desecrate them by putting a cheap ass winch on them 😢…. You Canadians…..
You saying this about the APEX confirms the fan boy cluelessness that exists on TH-cam comments. Figure it out.
We like to live dangerously lol. Our friends in the industry say good things, so we'll find out soon enough ;-)
