I'm a nurse taking a lunch break and watching this video. I can assure you that no one on this floor is calling "us" brilliant at this hospital. Anyway, love the micro light stuff here in states. Mend quickly!
Hi Matthew. I guess hospitals in the US are similar to here in the UK where staff are run ragged dealing with an endless stream of patients. Some patients who were only thinking of themselves were moaning at the nurses about wait times without taking the time to appreciate that the staff were facing an impossible task. You are appreciated. Thanks for looking after us and fixing us when we do dumb stuff to ourselves. 👍
Hi Wayne. I’m hoping 6 weeks is the worst case scenario. A lot of people tell me to expect the pain to be much better after a couple of weeks. Fingers crossed. 🤞
Man, I'm so sorry to hear this. A fall from a ladder can sure put you in the hurt locker. Don't let anybody tell you any really funny jokes where you have to laugh-out-loud.
Bless you. I had a low flight off a ladder once, wasn't as bad as you. I'm currently in hospital, just had first hip replaced. After the second one I can start flying.
Bless you mate. I broke my hip a few years (after another clumsy fall) so can appreciate what sore hips feel like. I hope you have a new lease of life with your new hips and get back in the air soon. 👍
@paulieb796 I looked into microlighting in the mud 80s, couldn't afford it. Then came family and kids. I got 20 hours in Piper Warriors a few years back. But seeing yours and Gilles videos has inspired me to get my microlight licence this year.
Wow. You have no idea how good it is to hear that I have played a small part in getting someone back into the air. Please keep me updated with your progress. 👍
Get well soon as they say in flying ,it’s not the fall that hurts ( it is the sudden stop) looking forward to more 4:45 entering and informative video in the future kind regards Sean from the Burren west of Ireland
Bloody hurts doesn’t it. Thankfully I’ve not sneezed yet but I have been warned that it will be a memorable experience. I had hiccups last night. That was fun!! 😫😫😫
@paulieb796 I couldn't avoid sneezes, they were excruciatingly painful. If I felt one coming on, I just wanted to put a gun to my head! After a couple of weeks, I found the sharpness of the pain diminished significantly, but it was still hard to find a comfortable position for sleeping. There's just no respite as you still have to breathe, at least with a limb break you can imobilise it for some relief. I found painkillers had little effect, which only compounded the misery. Hope you're soon fit to fly again. At least my C42 at Darley Moor is finally finished, and the permit renewal application went in today, so she should be coming home soon. See you in the sky soon.👍
Thanks Ian. Hopefully should be back up and running soon. Rutland water is on my list of places to visit by air. Just need to make sure I steer clear of RAF Wittering. 👍
Any landing you can walk away from is a good one - right? 🤣 Seriously though, OUCH! Glad you're (broadly) OK. I've bruised my ribs before and that was blasted painful - lord only knows how sore broken ribs must be! Get well soon!
Pre-ladder climb checklist v2.1 effective 04/03/24 1. Step away from ladder. 2. Have a word with yourself about being too old. 3. Itemise list of excuses for not climbing ladder. 4. Take ladders and return them to shed. Just need to come up with a Mnemonic to help me remember. 👍
Sorry big lad… no sign of led swinging LOL😂glad you are ok and up and about… maybe avoid any comedy programmes for a bit, a tad intrusive on the broken ribs.
Jeez. You lot are brutal 😉Laughing hurts like a bitch as does coughing and farting. I’ve been told that a sneeze is going to smart a bit too. I am going to avoid ladders in future. A friend recently told me that gaining altitude while still connected to the ground should be avoided at all costs. 👍

Very sorry to hear about the accident. Very best wishes for a speedy recovery.... 👍🛩
Thank you. Hoping to be airborne again asap. 👍
Aww sh*t! So sorry to hear this, Paul. Get well soon matey! I'll be hanging around waiting for when you do 👍🏻
Thanks Kev. I’ll be back up in the air as soon as it doesn’t hurt to move. 👍
Sorry to hear that Paulie. Please be safe and get better soon! I love seeing your videos!
Thank you, I’m working on getting better. It’s slow going though. 👍
Sorry to hear the bad news Paul. I hope it doesn't take 6 weeks. Good luck and take care.

Ladders and laughing are both now banned in my house! 👍
Sorry to hear. I'm glad it wasn't flight related and your flying machine is still intact. Get well soon we need more trike vids.
Thankyou. Flying is so much safer than climbing ladders. 👍
@@paulieb796 LOL, right!
Get better soonest Paulie❗️
Thank you. I’m on the mend. 👍
Oh dear! Not good! Dangerous things those ladders. Get well and flying soon.
I was recently warned that gaining altitude while still attached to the ground is never a good idea. Ladders should be banned!!

@paulieb796 I will do. I'm going to do a Vlog of my progress. I'll mention you two in it.
@@SimonAmazingClarke fantastic. Can’t wait to see it.
Speedy recovery, teach Mrs B to foot a ladder 👍
Better still, teach Mrs B to climb a ladder. They’re her gutters as well!! 😉
@@paulieb796 😂😂😂
Stick to trikes, those ladders are dangerous 😊
Look forward to new content and quick healing.👍💪
Thank you. Agreed, ladders should be banned!

kind regards Sean from the Burren west of Ireland
Thank you Sean. Glad you found the video informative. I’m still working on the concept and trying new things out on the channel. 👍
The Wright Brothers never had to put up with this type of thing….
Get well soon Paul. All the best. K
Thank you mate. I appreciated the phone call too. Now when are you having your first lesson?
@@paulieb796 funnily enough just at the dinner table talking about that very thing…. Watch this space.
Hope you get well soon. Don't let gravity get you down!
Can’t beat a dad joke to make a man with broken ribs laugh! Thank you. 👍
@@paulieb796 No problem. Dad jokes are kind of what I do now (or so my kids tell me, Ha!)
I feel your pain! Been there, done that (plus collar bone), got the T shirt etc. I wish you much sneeze-free time ahead.

I was so looking forward to see more of your videos .
gutted😂😂 . get well soon.🤕🤕 👍👍
More videos on the way. 👍
I can totally sympathise, Paul - I broke one rib and that was bad enough. Get well soon mate, keep popping the opiates. 👍
Ta Dan. I might be grounded, but im still managing to get pretty high 🥹
Get well soon young man hope Ur flying soon 👍👍👍👍👍
Than you. I will be flying as soon as I can. 👍
Ladders are the source of many a broken rib in us not-so-young folks. Sorry you’re in pain and glad it wasn’t worse. Take care Paulie!
I think I’ll be giving ladders a wide berth from now on.
Get well soon.
Thank you Mike. I think it’s going to take a bit of time but I’ll get there. 👍
Paul. So sorry! Get well soon. Didn’t know you are in Leicester. I grew up in Rutland. Get well!

And the ladders were reusable so technically it was a perfect landing! Still sore and no flying just yet. Thanks for the well wishes. Appreciated. 👍
Hurry up and get fixed, we need to go flying 🤙
I’m working on it. 👍
Glad it wasn't worse.
That'll teach me for climbing a ladder after a night shift!! All recovered now though..
I take it that it wasn"t a 3 point landing? Get well soon!
Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing. This one just about qualifies 👍
You clearly forgot your ladder security and pre-climb checklist. Stick to flying!

Typical ex forces!! I’ve had the same level of sympathy from my colleagues. Fear not, I will be manning up and normal service will resume shortly. 🤣
