Good game, good show! Just going to mention though that you do not need Vents if you have Doors. Doors have a built-in Vent, if you click ont hem you can even turn them off. Do not waste all your Infrablocks on Vents if you already have doors!

It’s nice to see this game getting traction! Played the preordered digital copy back before it went on steam just to put a Star Wars name in the credits among the tons of other early supporters (totally worth it). Playing this actually served as a gateway to playing similar games like Rimworld now. But Space Haven is amazing! I definitely would recommend it to anyone who likes colony management with some minor roleplay elements involved. Currently, I’ve stopped playing the game and I’m waiting for more content to come out, but it’s still worth a try if you haven’t gotten the game yet!
I've played almost two hours of this game and I can already tell this game is awesome! I've run out of resources just because I was following the tutorial and did not have hyperdrive early enough to fly around and gather resources that way. Great game! I hope it will have success similar to the RimWorld!
@@Rhadamant Same. That's kinda where I got off the Double Fine hype train. Yup! Most of the games I add to the list are actually picked by patrons and then voted for by everyone, this is an exception to that rule. The next game coming, by the way, is Oxygen Not Included.
If you haven't already figured it out, all you need to do is double click on a derelict ship to do a salvage on it instead of zooming out. Found that out by accident myself.
If you enable salvage/transfer first then undraft, the people will start working right away, when you do it the other way around, they will usually return to the home ship and you have wasted a lot of time. Pro Tip: Gather Monster and Human meat, it's something you can sell so it's like throwing money out the window to not pick it up.
Is there a way to make separate sections on your ship, where the crew actually need to spacewalk between them? Like the route to the grow boxes in the starting base. I want my ship to be made up of sections that are connected by 1wide hull pieces (like scaffolding). Won't let me place any spacesuit doors in hull though.
Thanks for this, i stopped playing this not long after getting it, i imagine i'll be playing it again, and this vid has explained a lot of my previous mistakes to me. Sadly tho will prob still continue playing Deep Rock Galactic cus its awesome.. but one day i'll return to this.
When transferring things from the derelict, it looks like you can transfer them to the ship under construction rather than the base? Would that help with logistical issues until getting the second shuttle?
You can do that, but it can also fill up the intake of the new ship with parts that aren't used for construction and as a result slow down construction too.
@@Rhadamant indeed, the concept of Spacebase sounded excellent, but damn DoubleFine screwed it worse then an asset flip... I've got high hopes for Space Haven, and looking forward for future updates
Priority of what tasks they undertake. For instance if a character has equal skill in mining and construction you can use the arrows to let them know which you want them to work on as a priority.
I noticed the 2 door types, one with a small window, Both also have vents at the bottom. Seems you don't really need vents in the walls since you need doors to get in and they have vents.

Maybe this was recently patched, but doors actually double as vents. Of course, as with normal vents you can prevent airflow, but I'd assume that gases will still get transferred anytime the doors are open.
Ships that you can claim & add to your fleet are represented by just the ship icon. Ships that CANNOT be claim, derelicts, have a diagonal slash thru the ship icon.
