Wish RB&BB could have given a non-animal presentation a try---we here on the West coast love Circus Vargas and there are no animals...just talented humans and colorful spectacle and it works. Sad we are losing more and more of our history.
I know a lot of people didn't approve of the Circus using animals and all but this was a chance in a lifetime that many of us dreamed of. This Circus has been around for about 146 years. I can't believe that the Circus is no more.😔
It just seems like a very rich person that was brought up with this would try along with others to keep this going, but I believe you have to still be a child at heart to see the beauty in this. This train will sit on a side track rusting away until a decade or so some one will want to just revive the train into an excursion train. I watch these videos quite often when I want to revisit an era of my life 50s and 60s a time that my Grans will never experience and they will never miss.
From the wheels up, the train and equipment on it but not whatever is inside the containers and wagons, how much money you think just rolled by? $10mil, $20mil, more?
I honestly dont know where they planned to fit all those freight cars on that branch without encroaching on the hempstead main once layed up. The mitchel siding doesnt seem that big that it could hold that many cars.
Supposedly, someone's trying to bring back the circus without the animals. I hope they succeed so that future generations can experience the wonders of the circus, and all the talented people who helped make it to be.

When the train gets to the destination there are so many cars to be switched, maneuvered and unloaded that the standard 3 man crew would take forever. So the switch crews ride in the engines.
I saw them as a kid loved it!!!! I would have thought they would have better power now and nicer coach cars.... A bunch of SW units" I would have thought SD40 or Dash 8's
I never saw that flatbeds that carries the vehicles and other things in New York where I am living in real life, unless I saw it in another states!!!!! YIKES!!!! 😅😄😆😃😀😁😗😘😚😙😙
I saw it 2x, once at Fort Devens. I was on active duty and it pulled in just after lunch.... my Sergeant said yes go watch it.... then the General walked in and was asking nonsensical questions so no circus train that day.... then I knew I had see it for the last time. I chased it with a friend, my 5 year old and 2 year old.
They owned two blue and red unit this is the blue train unit tell the diffrence the greatest show on earth sign was blue on the blue train and red on red train
Unfortunately, Congress is trying to pass a bill that would ban all wild animals in circuses, known as HR 2863 (TEAPSPA). Write to your Representative about it.

Any video of this train is always cool, but the switch engines don't it a lot of justice.

Oh this is just one unit. You're forgetting they had the red unit and the blue unit. Plus the Circus World Museum still has Their circus train

Does the LIRR not have M.U. on the switchers? No idea why they all have a full crew of 2 except for the engines not having M.U.

The LIRR doesnt have any other diesel locomotive except the passenger de30ac and dm30ac locos. The LIRR gave the gp38-2s it had away for some reason
No it is not they rent engines from other railroads.
