Thats so awesome.....thats one of my Top 3 Todd Mixes, SOooooo underrated! Like his Alabama Blues mixes. I dont know how they’re not known by everyone in dance community. 🤦🏽♂️
Todd is a boss, saw him rocking the OG terminator costume during a Halloween show in vancouver. Absolute legend, nice as hell guy too. Just the epitome of humility.
@@sethaguilar8330 He's a gay man from Jersey who pionerred speed garage and, while not originally including religious imagery, slowly incorporated more of it in the 90s as he would find his life improved by Christianity (and would later fall out with religion, as recent interviews show). God forbid this gay man... express himself through music.
He is absolutely right. A lot of producers I know waste so much time constantly replacing their kit and then having to learn all new techniques. It gets in the way of making music. Ultimately; if you are good, you should be able to make music on anything.
Absolute legend. I saw this years ago, and rewatching it now made me realise how much these tiny tidbits actually influenced me as a producer, especially the part about keeping the focus on music and the soul of it. If you keep things musical and memorable, you can simply never go wrong. Todd forever.
Big respect Todd you stayed true his sound and craft!! Great closing statement about music theory. You're one of the best Garage producers of all time and your catalogue of music and style of production will continue to be celebrated.
First time I heard his remix for St. Germain, I was wondering how this is way more different from ordinary remixes, everything was chopped but at the same time in harmony and acting as one. He has truly unique style of sound.
@@shirkophobe Idk what your point is James. I just think it's funny, and i didnt know he was american until i started watching interviews. It hasn't changed my views on the genre, Todd Edwards or anything like that
@@shirkophobe You’re right, but none of them are called “UK Garage”, and barely any American knows garage music. The only artist with garage influence that got fairly good success in USA is Disclosure
Well, you're not wrong, considering that you wouldn't actually need all that fancy gear to, IDK, manipulate the samples and stuff, just VSTs and plugins (even Vegas would work).
you can always find a way to twist something to fit a negative narrative. he's a legend and he developed *this* sound. it's his. and no producer is an island -- we all have inspirations and influences, typically what's going on locally. basically, get a life and stop whining about a guy who worked hard to succeed.
The music featured in this video is called "I Might Be", by Todd Edwards himself.
Todd looks like a such a genuine nice person
So true
Immensely underrated producer. One of Daft Punk's vocalists and influences.
Speaking of Daft Punk, it was their song "Face to Face" that introduced me to this man's work.
@@SetrkiUno Likewise. I had no idea who he was or how legendary he was until that song. surprised he didn't end up being as famous as DP.
Agreed. This guy is an actual genius. When you look in depth at how Face To Face was made with dozens of random little samples it will blow your mind.
Legend ❤
Todd Edwards took Gay black New Jersey Garage and culturally appropriated it to England with a Christian filter to strengthen the gentrification.
I always loved how in this video he's like "alright let me show you how I sample" then immediately cuts to a basically finished track LOL
Yeah, but fortunately in later videos where he shows more of his sampling process, specially in his two facebook live videos.
Man I wish this wasn't so edited, so we can see his work flow. Oh well
I've been in that studio! I heard the unreleased Justice - DVNO mixes in that room. It was a good day.
You’re a legend for uploading so many Todd songs!!
@@am_matesevac2001 Thanks! I have made some good friends through Todd's music. All the copyright strikes have been worth it!

THANK YOU so MUCH for reuploading this, I’ve been searching like crazy
You're welcome!

Thank you for reuploading this. I remember when this interview first dropped. I had to click on it as soon as I could.

I was captivated by the same song!
2:11 holy shikes is that the sounds of one remix he did that's labeled on the disc?
Looks way more like a studio where work gets done than a rich kid hobby room 😊
Words from the Master. Thank you Todd!
Todd is indeed, the God .. of Garage music.
Thanks for reuploading this!
One of the original house masters still going strong
He is still going strong indeed.

You're welcome.
The hardcore Todd fans around here!
Fucking love Face to Face with Daft Punk thanks for showing us your humble set up. Just goes to show it not what you got but what you know.
Awww man, he's so lovely.
Man, love you Bro...including your work and remixes.!
wow, I am just stumbling across this 😞
That sample is Space Age by Jimmy Castor Bunch I think
Fascinating, I would never have expected to see a zip drive in use. Just goes to show that creativity trumps technology.
Kind hearted and talented person
Todd is a legend 🙌 Listening to his music is something special...Its the frequencies ♥️👏
For me, it's the sample choices he makes (specially the "Most Beautiful Thing" and the "Slowdance" remixes, for example).

Love u Todd. ❤️❤️❤️
Dude you haven't aged at all since 2003 like what
Actually, I only reuploaded the clip since the OG was deleted. I'm not exactly Todd, honestly.
That bit @3:45 sounds really dope. Did that become a finished track??
Just like that: Let me show you my Gadgets, Oh forgot, push some keys and give you a banger really quick.
Gotta love that this man made something better than most producers can create with no effort
absolute legend the way he threw down that track was something else
An actual audio genius
This is the legend that inspired Daft Punk and the legendary Face to Face!
If I'm not mistaken!
To be precise, he _collaborated with_ Dafr Punk themselves to make Face to Face. And Fragments of Time some years later.
@@SetrkiUno Yes and Random Memories... it's coming to me now.
Todd would travel out to Daft!
You are correct...
This is many years old, I think these days he’s only plug-ins ….
3.30 that sounds sick
He reminds me a lot of Dan Curtin, really love this guy so much.

It's funny how an american kicked off a genre that's so big in England and the UK
Why? House, Techno, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Fusion, Punk, Rock and Roll and Blues were all genres kicked off by Americans and all became big in England.
@@shirkophobe Well cause the genre is litterally called "UK Garage"

What's your favourite Todd track???
Legend!
What's the song at the very beginning?
*I Might Be,* which plays throught the video (except for the part where he makes a song).

You mean the example track he's making in this video? Then I'm afraid that it doesn't seem to exist.
Thing is, I can remake it once I manage to find the sample he uses in that track.
Thanks for askimg. :)
