I am very happy to hear that you want to make normal dota 2 videos. I watch everything but I definatly always finish 1x6, world of dota and similiar ''regular'' series. Definately more intersting in my opinion and sort of feels familiar. Normal dota 2 is great but I'd like maybe some all random deathmatch or like an a-z challenge. It'd take quite some time, but you could do an A-Z thing. Where you play every hero in alphabetical order or maybe in release order. Thatd be interesting
Dunno if it's just me, but I feel like the reason why some heroes have "wrong" Attribute is mostly because of legacy reasons, not as in "a mistake that became new norm" or "hero changed and no longer fits", but, strangely, balance reasons, or, to be precise, nerfing reasons, I guess? DOtA, the first DOtA, fussed about exact numbers, even going as far as single digit differences in item prices. For such a pedantic game, a hero focused around using their abilities in short rythmic bursts in order to attack and to survive can't be Strength, because it would, in a way, eliminate choice between superiour survivability and more attack damage, making them too hard too get "perfectly balanced", and that is why, I believe, Ursa is an Agility hero. Similar reasons can be attributed to other heroes as well: Windranger has too much disable and survivability/escape to allow her attacking outside of her ultimate, Visage is way too tanky and has too much utility to let him scale from strength and so on. Of course, these reasons are very much superficial and can be worked around by as little as tweaking numbers a bunch, and so new heroes no longer suffer from such treatment. Like Hoodwink, while being very similar to Windranger, yet with more of a shift towards escape rather than survivability, is an Agility hero. But that's, of course, is naught but my speculations.
I think people like the upgrading and new paths about both the mods that do well od the channel according to you (1x6 and World of Dota). I used to play a lot of Aghanim's Labyrinth (not sure if it is still being updated but I would think so) and I think trying that for a few games could be also fun. So... Just a suggestion. There are a lot of possible builds and paths that are really fun since a lot of new heroes have been added since the mod was created.
I would love to go back to the old days of Legends of dota and the journey of the angel arenas. I also love it when baumi used to play with people in a discord call. Maybe we could see some ability draft?
Haven’t thought these through, but maybe: 1) a boosted where you can’t take bonus damage (might just result in a CC fest), 2) boosted but you have to take the first option listed, 3) boosted cancer lancer (low illusion count, long strong illusions like the old days), 4) boosted legends and make a non-damaging cancerous support [tax man, X, y, z]
I have watched your videos for years at this point (before OG autochess) & the reason i havent really watched too many dota but's recently & well almost every time when one is like that, is that they feel more like regular dota with a slight twist, good examples of this are like... latest int/str/agi swap, 20 new items, +500 attack range, random item pricing etc. ( and since i dont personally play dota, or have ever really played any substantial amount, apart from some stuff like autochess/ability arena, i dont really find enjoyment in regular games at all ) But the game modes i really like are boosted/1x6/ability arena/CHC/Random td games like samsara, legion etc/and those weird cool chinese mods Also dumb & unbalanced buts like; atk reduce cd/dmg cast spells/Dota but everything times X/talents times X/Items level up/upgraded abilities/balanced by ai etcetc

I agree about the Dota butts. I'm always extra excited to watch a 1vs6, World of Dota, CHC or just modes that aren't like normal Dota at all(tower def/auto chess), and a lot of Dota butts are just "haha different number" which is getting a bit stale. That's not saying I would like to watch normal Dota, idk, normal Dota just doesn't really appeal to me. That being said, I watch your content mostly for the calming commentary and stories and your personality so I will most likely watch everything anyway. (I watched your stuff for years before I even played dota, and played like once or twice cause new friends wanted to try xD)
It actually excites me to see you go back to regular dota. Personally I never got into the Dota buts, but I enjoyed literally every other mod you played. I just started getting back into watching Dota so it's a little funny you're thinking of going back to it as well.
One suggestion for new content : how about playing Aghanim's Labryinth ? I think it's had potential. It's kind a more align with your other content, and from what i heard, there're a healthy amount of player and maintenance going for that map.
You could potentially do 1 regular dota 2 game per week and just fill up a lobby with your viewers so you don't get the toxicity from random players, so then it's not overbearing and you don't get burnt out quickly
I think normal dota sounds great. Maybe try some more goofy/fun builds and try and make them work. There is so much normal ranked content out there already and so little fun stuff that I think many would enjoy it.
Baumi I LOVE the non-dota dota. 😢 also, there was a But a year or so ago where damage taken was re-distributed to allies behind you. Very mind breaking. Can you play that one again?
The way you pointed directly at Onkey at 11:38 was just so funny :D I don't like some of the pauses, mostly the "creepy" ones because they're just awkward (come on Baumi, you're not scary) But I absolutely love the ones where you pull down the greenscreen, just feels so surreal for some reason because of how you just pull a part of the video down like that, maybe you could try making a sideways one if it's at all possible? Or even an upwards one, surely that one's possible The one with Miki is still absolutely the most adorable one tho

for me ive noticed timing ends up playing a big role in which videos i end up watching. like with 1x6 if i see it i watch it right away but with dota buts im more like, ah maybe another time. and then i might watch it way later in the future

Stuff like 1x6 or World of Dota is unique and interesting. I don't really know what to propose as a series but something that's not base DotA would definitly be better for people like me. Maybe something like trying different Mobas? Could be cool for you as a game designer. But thats a lot of downloaded games and created accounts so idk. Have a great day 👍
I am a long time viewer and I too am getting kinda tired of the But modes. They all feel kinda samey, and I never found the ones with random numbers or stuff like that very interesting to begin with. 1x6 is definitely my favourite series of yours, I feel like these modes which upgrade your hero similarly to how Valve did in Aghanim's Labyrinth are very cool and always make me want to see more of them. There are a ton of 1x6 builds I'd like you to try just to see how you would make them work. I would definitely watch you play normal dota as well, just because it has been so much time since the last time I watched a dota 2 match in its entirety that I would be curious to see how the meta and the general feel is nowadays.
I don't want to be rude or anything, Baumi, but I really think you should check out what kind of content Rarran is putting out for Hearthstone. I believe you could apply the same philosophy and ideas to Dota and be successful with that content, since you're looking to branch out a bit. I know it's a bad idea to take advice from randoms, but please check out Rarran's formats
I liked Dota buts before, but then there was so much boosted so I grew a bit tired of them. I love some original Dota buts. Also stuff like 1x6 is great, also would love to se more other original custom games from arcade. Maybe more stuff like Darwin island, some td videos, just a variety of custom games I guess
Personally i don't watch any dota2 buts because they are too similar to normal dota2 and there for i don't enjoy them and are not fun or anything new and exciting compare to original mods . So if you are gonna play normal dota please be aware that they may have a lower view count than dota2 buts . Best of luck to you .
