So much for these cars has been discontinued from Honda(many parts have been gone for YEARS), almost nobody else will ever be able to restore a Civic/Em1 to this level in the future.
Oh man flashbacks to 2008 when I pulled the dash out of my Integra to replace the heater core. I had previously crushed the pipes when dropping the engine back into the car, and leaked coolant all on the carpet. That was a pretty huge job. Although now thinking back, with all the stuff I’ve done on my cars over the years, it doesn’t seem like such a big deal.
The level of detail is incredible. This is 100% going to be better than factory when it is done. I can only imagine the challenges of finding oem original parts even having a bit more access. Thanks I look forward to your Saturday updates.
I would recommend doing the crv cabin air filter mod. Not sure why but Honda did not put a cabin air filter on these cars even though there is a slot to put them in. Cost cutting I guess.
Cabin filters weren’t really a thing on 90’s cars. Not really until the 2000’s did cars start coming with them. However I’m interested in this CRV filter mod. Would it work on DC Integra chassis also?
@@Patrick94GSR not sure about DC. The evaporator on the EK has the cabin filter slot from 99 up, my 98 does not have it. Maybe the later model DCs have the slot too, I don’t think the early ones like 93 did.
Good job guys! I went throught this process recently on my 96 Hatch daily driver. What a pain. That old foam sure is nasty! I couldnt find a good foam for the flapper doors so what I did was wrap them in HVAC duct aluminum tape. That way the flapper doors seal on the chamber edges and the air from the blower goes where I want it and not leak to where I dont (upper vents/feet/defrost).
Ok I found the part numbers for the foam tape : Ept Sealer (3T) - Honda (06990-SA5-000) , Ept Sealer (10T) - Honda (06992-SA5-000) , Ept Sealer (5T) - Honda (06991-SA5-000)
We are going for an Oem+ restoration on this project. A base coat for the engine bay is the original finish but we like to give it that extra shine to match the exterior. We will also be installing all of the brackets and harness clips back in the engine bay
Mike, in the final video would you please share with us the cost of this project or at least the rough cost with parts and labor? It would help someone like me who's doing their project to have a realistic expectation on costs. thank you!
Absolutely beautiful work guys! I would love for you to work on my 2020 Accord Touring if ever needed. Did this year of Civic not have a cabin air filter?
AHC Garage: This is the perfect opportunity to add a 2000 CRV cabin filter to your Evaporator box. All you need is the tray, the foam seal and the filter itself. 80292-st3-e01, 80293-st3-e01 and 80291-st3-515. Only trick is you will have to disconnect the wire harness to replace the filter in the future.

Right on!!

We have been collecting parts for many year for this project. Thank you for watching
Well thats because its guaranteed to know its $30k going into a car
Scary stuff! Halloween Time

Thanks 🙏👍 so much
The things that are SO much easier to do with the dash out and hood off!
A/C blower and evaporator are possible to do without dash removal but the heater box is a must
definitely need those 3 foam part #s

Thanks Mike & TJ! 👍🏻🇺🇸
Thanks for always tuning in

More to come
Impressive to say at least. Those EM1 are a child dream of mine , and finding this series has bring the nostalgia for getting one back !!!
Glad you enjoyed it. One of the main reason why we started this project.
4:14 wasn’t expecting him to cover up his fart like that 😂
Ha!
is their a version of C.A.P.S. for honda. love using it for My Mitsubishi restoration. but it would be nice to have a version for My Honda project
Cheers!!

I was going to mention this, they have access to all the parts it's probably the easiest upgrade they will ever do
You might be right

Hello could you please put the tape part numbers or brands you used on this as I also want to do the same thing thanks .
They put links in the description
No they didn't , they only put tools used to do it , not the foam parts numbers check the links .@@330arr
@@neilvandeventer501hey I tried twice to reply with the part number for the thickest ept foam but my comment keeps disappearing

Great infos, thank you. We have updated on the description as well.
Damn I wish I would have known where to get the foam before I did mine. I used grey window sealing foam tape from HD and it was less than ideal...
With these factory sealers, you will notice a big difference in air vent flow
Hi guys, if you painted the bay why not fill the holes that you knew would just be plugs later?
I’m guessing they wanted to keep it looking like oem, straight from factory.
It’s a restoration, meaning back to OEM standards.
@@Brady_H @ViheulaTv I thought so too, but then the paint is clear coated and finished, from the factory it comes more of a matte

Your AHC crew is amazing!
Can't wait to see the final results!
Another stunning episode, what black spray did you use for the wheel wells ?
It’s 3M undercoating

Ordered the Seal tape for blender doors, but what is the part # for the small 3/8 ? roll for the vents ?
Is it normal for the high pressure pipe to heat?

Yes, to an extent
