- Friday Night Live co-host Jonathan Lim passed away peacefully on the 23 of January 2025. He will be dearly missed as a great host, a great friend, and a great person. Goodbye my friend, Fridays won't be the same without you.
Wake is held at Singapore Casket Level 3 Pearl Hall, 131 Lavender Street, Singapore 338737 from Sunday 26 Jan 2025, 3.30pm onwards. Funeral service is on Monday 5.00pm thereafter cortege leaves at 5.45pm for Mandai Crematorium Hall 2 for cremation at 6.45pm.

It reminds me how my late mum left us just like that. No illness. Just gone and we found her cold when we came back from work. Life is so unpredictable. I hope Jon left peacefully and without regrets. RIP Jon. ❤

We are all saddened with Jon’s departure. He was such a life force. I just had dinner with him last month for Christmas. I’m particularly affected and it took me 2 days to come to terms with this reality before I am able to talk about his passing. But we know Jon, being the entertainer that he was, he’ll be saying “The show must go on!”. Hang in there Eugene. Let’s take our time to heal and honor his legacy in SC. Rip Jon. You will be missed.

A kind and gentle heart. I will miss him on FNL. Not sure what this means but i was listening to an older FNL podcast yesterday and Eugene asked Jon if he died, would he want the SC community to look for him. and he said sure..just bring good food or something to that effect. Oh my God! That's truly sad. Eugene, your tribute to Jon is best said in your expression of his loss. I can feel that he meant a lot to you and i am sure to the community. In honour of Jon, I dedicate this poem by Laurence Binyon. Binyon wrote this poem for his fallen comrades.

I had to watch this live for several times because SC have lost one of its massive influencer of the century.... He will be remembered.... No matter where we come from all over the world, SC brought us together and Jon's insights about paranormal and supernatural themes had brought joy and entertainment for people like me who were distraught and finding their little corner where they feel belong.... 😢😢😢😢😢

Hey Eugene, this is Maevis. I watched this recording early in the morning and I teared with you. Gone too soon. There’s so much more he would’ve loved to do. It’s never easy losing a good buddy. Take your time to grieve. And remember, he will want you to continue to do what you’ve been doing.

I was speechless when I first read the news. Jon was such a wonderful host and so well-loved. I always looked forward to seeing him every Friday, and was hoping to meet him one day. My fondest memories of Jon was way back in the early 2000s when he used to very convincingly act as a true blue hokkien beng for TCS in one of those english dramas.

If Eugene is the face and house of SC, then Jon was the voice and flavour. He was like a bright spark that breathed life into every story he told, and added a depth of compassion and empathy. Instead of fear, his stories have encouraged curiosity, discovery and most of all, seeking to understand and respect towards the unknown. Jon has become irreplaceable to the community, and he will live on in our memories for as long as SC does. It's strange but perhaps also fitting to feel that Jon is now finally on the side of the things he's always been happily curious about.🥲 RIP Jon, you'd be missed and remembered. Do be strong and carry on Eugene, we are cheering you on, as Jon would be from the other end of the world. ❤️🤍
