I watch a beautiful young lady that does videos for the Restores in an area near the mountains in North Carolina, Come Go With Me. I know that a couple of them get furniture donated to them from the big furniture makers in NC. These restores are right in the center of furniture making companies there. They get amazing antiques furniture wish and housewares. I loved this video, I fell asleep watching it the first time so had to watch it again.😂😂😂, old age. I love that you and your husband can do this together and enjoy yourselves doing it. 😊❤
I will look up that channel! Thanks for telling me about it.🥰 And thanks for watching the video again!! I’m glad we put you to sleep, I would have done the same🤣🤣 Have a great day Margaret!!
Absolutely love Habitat Restore, especially the antique furniture section. Have some really good buys there. I certainly hope you grabbed the chair for $20.00! The marble topped washstand would be good for a bathroom vanity. Omg, the antique dresser mirror in Dover was gorgeous, personally I would just clean it up without painting it, just do some touch ups if it needed it. Loved the row of rocking chairs, I would have to try each one out! lol! Absolutely loved all of the rugs! Yes, I definitely have had buyers remorse, especially when I think I can go back and get it, then when I do, it’s gone!
We found so many great things while shopping that day. I seriously kick myself for not getting that large round rug! Love your idea for the washstand. That would be gorgeous!!😊
I visited the Habitat store in Wilmington, I found their prices to be on the high side. There is a Goodwill store on Kirkwood Hwy, about a mile away from Habitat. I ALWAYS find treasures there. You should visit when you are in the area. I am fortunate, GW is only about 15 mins away from me and the bins are about 20. I could get addicted really fast.
This is why I love old furniture, it’s real wood, not the faux sh**. Here in east central Iowa we have a store called “Stuff” a bit pricier but it’s a consignment store, so they take clothing, home goods of all kinds and furniture and artwork. OOOOO, I LOVE your spoon-carved dresser that’s behind that chair you bought. I’m kind of addicted to spoon carved furniture.
I agree with you about the old furniture. The craftsmen were so skilled! And that dresser you mentioned, I paid $35 for it at a yard sale and it was CRAWLING with ants! I used two cans of ant spray and bleach before I brought it in our house!
Great video!! There’s a girl I watch on YT who goes to all the Restores in our/her area. She’s in the area of NC where all the furniture manufacturers are and they donate a lot of furniture pieces. Her YT channel is “Come Go With Me Today.”
Why are the others turning into crap? We had a good one, I went in one day, everything was gone, had a whole new staff and has gone downhill BAD since then. I was there last week, I won’t go back.
I have buyer's remorse almost every time I go to a garage sale. I love garage sales. I have actually gone back and gotten items.😂 I'm learning that if I want it, I just get it.
Delaware definitely has some nice Restores n definitely priced very well. Here where I live is awful. The prices are so ridiculous for pieces of furniture that is slightly used n donated. I too, fell in love with that round rug. At our Restore you would have paid close to $150.00 dollars. I think I’m living in the wrong state LOL. Had lots of fun coming along with you n Steve. By the way Cindy. Do you mind me asking why you painted the washstand you showed on your blog? I do think you mentioned you didn’t like the yellow or reddish tone. Then again maybe you didn’t feel like stripping it to put a different color stain on it. Maybe I answered my question LOL. Silly me. Not my best day of using my brain. ♥️♥️😊👍👍🌟
The prices at you ReStore sound higher than ours for sure! That stinks!! At least the money is going for a good cause. I'm glad you joined our shopping trip Shelly! About the washstand - it was sooooo orange. If I stripped it to remove the old finish, it could still look orange. I have bleached oak wood and have had succes in removing the orange tone. Oak can turn that color with age. Also, I painted it because I love to paint🤣 The good thing about a furniture is that you can make it over anytime! For me that's the fun of it! Thanks for watching Shelly and thanks so much for going to my blog. It is encouraging to know that our posts and videos are helpful! Have a great day my friend!
It's hard to understand why so many of the ReStore locations are high priced. There were some items higher than what I would pay but most of the items were a deal.
I went to the Prices Corner Restore one time. It’s been around 7-8 years ago maybe. I found there to be ridiculously overpriced stuff or absolute junk, nothing in between. Maybe I’ll go look again. Was the Middletown store worth stopping at?
@@nancyanne1402 The Prices Corner location had some overpriced pieces at the front of the store but in the larger back section, I thought the prices were reasonable. As for the Middletown store, I like the dishes and the prices in that section. Some of the furniture was reasonable and some wasn't. Good Luck!
I love these stores to, if anything to just walk through and see what's new, I've seen lots of things to buy and save just because items will never be found again to say, but just no place to put all the things I've seen at them, my problem is that the more people see and hear about these stores is they get greedy on their prices, I'm from Wisconsin and work in Chicago at times and went to a few their and I couldn't believe what their trying to get for their items in that area, I've seen whole kitchen cabinets at home for like $2,000 and then seen something similar in Illinois and they were 6k, even the simpler items were outrageous priced, The thing I really hate,to see, I work Construction and see the things they just get trashed, that could be donated to Habitat for humanity for resale to help those that really what to have a home of their own, that just can't get that down-payment or that monthly payment every month, With all the large Construction that going on in this country today I feel that this could really make a few families happy sorry for the rambling
First, no need to apologize for 'rambling' I agree 100% about donating instead of trashing. This could save so many people who need for their own homes. I've heard other ReStores have high prices. We are fortunate that ours in Delaware still have reasonable prices. Thanks for watching and chiming in the conversation!
2:20 the solid oak secretary is sweet. 3:01 love the wicker furniture set too 14:42 skip on the faux wood
I’m with you about the secretary desk! It’s gorgeous. I have a similar one in my workshop that will be getting a makeover soon!
My grandmother lived near Price's Corner. Love your travels around the state. Makes me feel at home while liiving in Florida.
That is awesome! The Restore in the northern end of the state is amazing!
Thank you for taking us along! First time in a Restore…we’ll sort of😊
I'm so glad you could some along with us! Thanks for watching!😊

I have gotten all kinds of things from my local ReStore. They are my go-to for paint and paint supplies. My area of SC doesn't have many stores.
That’s good to know Marley!😊

Thanks for the info Paula. My daughter lives up that way so I will be sure to check it out. The next time I can 😊
Can’t wait 😊
Thanks Maggie! I'm sure you will enjoy watching it! See you soon!

Great video👍👍🙋🏽♀🙋🏽♀ I have used that paint and love it!!!! One coat does it
That's good to know! Thanks for letting me know!
I have never been a Restore. I will definitely search for them in South Florida.
They are awesome stores! I hope you have one close!
Come to frederick Maryland it’s the best I work there and we always get compliments and were expanding🥰
Why are the others turning into crap? We had a good one, I went in one day, everything was gone, had a whole new staff and has gone downhill BAD since then. I was there last week, I won’t go back.
That's so crazy about the good ReStore you had. Maybe its a management problem 😩
Sounds like I need to go on a roadtrip!!
Fredrick Maryland Restore is the best!!!
@@tinan7129 Now I have to make time to go!!
I’ve bought and used the paint from my ReStore on a china hutch that I use as my entertainment center.
That’s good to know Cathy!

That's the smart thing to do - when you see it, get it!! I do the same thing at yard sales. I'm so excited about yard sale season!
@ReinventedDelaware Me too, but I enjoyed this video. We have the Restores here, but I've never been. I will make time to do that.
Yes you grabbed it for $20.
You are a great guesser!!

I have found a few good pieces at our Restore in the past, but now there is not much and way overpriced. I keep checking. Also it is not very big.

Your restore is great !! Mine is so overpriced .😢
I've been hearing that from others! I don't understand the inconsistency in the stores!
That is a vintage factory sewing machine
Thanks for letting me know!
Our restore is terrible! They never have decent stuff and the prices are outrageous.
Oh no!! I'm so sorry to hear that. Delaware has some pretty good ones. But some of the prices have definitely increased.
