Johan is a literal example of psychopathy, a young serial killer in the making. His attitude is callous and flippant towards everyone and everything around him. He doesn't care about the feelings or rights of others. The environment he's growing up in also doesn't help matters. After killing Agatha and Filip, I wouldn't be surprised if he went on to kill his mother as well.
I feel one key aspect of this game is that the adults are to blame here because they keep projecting their insecurities on their children and expect them handle it, even though children can't handle the emotional weight of, oh I don't know, KILLING SOMEONE! These devs knew what they were doing with this game.
@@Thaisistercunnysomeone in real life pretty much did it when they stole a emotional support alligator named Wally from a elderly man and released it in the wild as a prank. Some people really make a gag into a crime
I just noticed that Johan’s face became obscured when Agatha was killed and at the end, a clever way to convey how inhuman and psychopathic Johan truly is.
Honestly kinda got the feeling that Johan's father was also abusive. Maybe not to Johan himself, but definitely to his mother. Kids don't just come up with the idea that beating someone is love on their own. I'd hazzard a guess that his father would beat his mother, and when Johan would ask why, he'd probably be given an answer like he's just correcting her mistakes because he loves her. Which might explain why he hates his mother so much, if she finally had enough and seperated from his father whom he idolizes. Could also explain the extreme pranking and the animal killing, being some of few things he'd actually have control over. Or he could just be a little psycho, I dunno.
It's a common thing parents who beat their children say "i do it because i love you" so maybe he beats johan too, he also says "you'll get it when you're older"
No, we don't know much but Johan actually does have a reason to hate his mother (we assume, due to it being his POV) as two of his lines speak about how his mother was "helpful for once" during the walk to school after Agathas call and how his mother forced him to leave his pet or experiments before moving
You entirely missed the point at the end. Johan doesn't want to kill Filip all he wanted to do is prank him. So he put Agatha's head in a box labeled as his favorite Strawberry cupcakes, and he doesn't see anything bad with it because he's a psychopath and think it's funny. But he was also possibly trying to frame Filip on the murder because he left Agatha's inhaler in his closet so that may be an option. As he would say, it's just a prank bro
I have a theory that this was entirely an elaborate prank. Agatha was really alive. They put fake blood around her when Johan “killed her”. And at the end, the box of cupcakes are really cupcakes, Johan and Agatha put fake blood around it.
True but then he will have witnesses especially Philip and Agatha father and Philip's mother and even the teacher (although the teachers are to casual with students missing what it seemed to be missing posters around the city) But cmon that would be bad for Johan. Because sometimes humans have breaking point so he could snitch or even fight back against Johan.

All this game teaches is that; just because someone is your friend doesn't mean they are a good person, and just because they are going through a rough time doesn't mean you enable their bad behavior, especially if they don't care if someone has it worse.
I felt most connected with Agatha. I’ve gotten myself in bad situations by growing up as an Agatha. I'm just saying a what if he survived scenario. Gamersault mentioned it's possible he would let him live if he didn't say anything or he would put the blame on him about Agatha since nobody would most likely believe him anyway. But it would be cool to learn more about their family and their past. Also, to see their parents face to face since we only heard them and never saw them it would be cool, and yes Filip needs to redeem himself, not just failing to see the creepy signs from Johan but for letting him use him to do all those horrible pranks and if you think about Johan's mom isn't probably safe either...there's still show much that could be added to this story I'm telling you!😄
Johan reminds me of a kid in my neighbourhood when I was younger. He was a legit fucking psychopath. I don't know who's worse. But at least the kid in my neighbourhood didn't kill anyone, at least as far as I'm aware. I moved away from there a while ago.
I don’t know if he killed Filip, that’s seems up for interpretation. However, the details about his taxidermy habit paints a very likely picture of what was in the box without ever showing or explaining it.
To add on with something, Filip is very prone to Johans tricks and he always does everything Johan asks him to do. Its almost as if Filip is like a puppet and the one controlling the puppet is Johan. Agatha is always used as a harmless victim and she never gets any freedom from any of the pranks used on her. This story is supposed to represent how psychopathy can be taken too far and that when something small can become even bigger ( the fact that Johan put Agatha's head inside a cupcake box is truly horrifying ). Either way, I think that vulnerability is a big sign here, especially with Filip and Aagatha. I think that irl, you should always be careful about who you trust, because clearly in this story you can already tell that trusting your friends is not the right choice after they crossed the line.
Great points bro. Especially for the younger crowd coming up nowadays, we may have had those friends or been in friend groups where you have a gut feeling someone in it just isn't healthy or safe to be around in the long run. However we may or may not have to courage to leave them where they're at, as it can be "difficult" for any number of reasons we can come up with. Finding the courage to draw the line before small "pranks" eventually go too far is def a great message.

The one thing that makes me sad about this game is the complete disregard for children safety by the adults. Sure kids can be little shits, but when one kid is telling you that someone just fricking died, you should absolutely listen to that child. So the two kids getting murdered should have the teachers be blamed for it.

And the way he lied his way throughout the entire interaction just to get the box in the room to Filip, chilling. He also had his own interpretation of events at his door, saying Filip "left them to deal with the fallout." However by time Filip finally decided to take a stand and unfriend him (he is still a kid btw so I can't be too critical of him but I am proud of him!) it was already too late.
Average slavic farther be like
Johan got reincarnated from Monster to a PS1 style horror game.
we getting a look at his childhood
This reminds me of that reddit story where OP confessed to a missing person’s case.

What games you want gamersault explained next?
Maybe the true prank was the friends we ma- oh wait
They did it for the Vine.
It's just a prank, bro.
The prank:
The legend is back
I feel bad for Agatha
As a Person who read like "Monster", I learned a lesson... Never trust a person name "Johan". This proves my point ToT
But then you realize Johan isn’t his real name but it is a nice name
@@Sn_da_1st fr fr you get it.
When I was watching walkthrough video first I think Agatha’s dad going to unalive her and horror would go from this… Second thoughts was about this kids going to be kidnapped… And after Agatha’s fall I immediately was “OH NO… NOT TAXIDERMY…”
I feel like in the wiki, Johan is probably the main antagonist of the full game and kinda might wanna blame Johan's parents for being the reason why.
I don’t know why but for some reason I thought that would be a Bro at the end of it especially since the game is called it’s just a prank
*PRANKS ALWAYS GO TOO FAR* ... thus pranking and bullying are one and the same.. they both are crimes.
“It was just a prank bro”
The prank:
Thats johan from monster
Those oh-so (in)famous words got their own game.
What’s next?
Even if Johan didn't kill Agatha, his cruel and sadistic nature with animal abuse and how he treats others around him could still lead to him potentially becoming a serial killer or someone who is mentally unstable (or in other words a potential psychopath).
This might just be a prank
What was with the orignal missing posters?
If you noticed Agatha’s voice was different when she said she had to go pee
⬇️
Timestamp?
I think because it was a recording of her voice. Johan did that to trick Philip
Idk why but why does this scene at 9:55 kinda reminds me of OMORI for some reason :\/
( 15:46 ) what is "texi deri"??? I really wanna know! Please explain!
It's taxidermy basically the art of stuffing, skinning or mounting dead animals on walls in a trophy like manner
Its just a prank bro she,ll be up in a seacond💀
Is Johan's last name Liebert, by any chance?
Not gonna lie this would be a great book and villain back story 😂
Its always the character named Johan isnt it
Or Nathan
Monster referance 🤯
There's no way we got a game about Johan Liebert's childhood
(i'm kidding)
Johan pranks starts off small, but as the game goes on you can see how much of psycho he is pretty much, and he also killed Agatha (who was being pretty much abused by her dad) and just saying it was a prank it's really too far
If a boy pranked me like that youll see him with a black eye
Bro the guy he was mogging so much in the backround
This game is really eerie
What i dont get is, Filipp still heard Agatha outside the room right? So how is that?
radio recording
I hate that you don’t get to intervene in the phone call scene and say it was Johan or decide weather to let him in or not at the end of the game.
The bowlcut also gotta be a prank too right lol
Is Agatha the same Agatha from the other game? Are you playing as her dad or as an adult Johan plagued by guilt for Agatha? Because that other game has Agatha in it, and a boy pranking your door, and then Agatha laying dead in the same way
just saw jay from the kubz scout play this and saw this next and i also wanted to know with the weird story i saw
