  • Making full use of SharePoint is critical to your Microsoft 365 experience. However, many people are hesitant to migrate their file server to SharePoint, given the changes to process and experience that come with it. With a few modifications, and some helpful things to know about SharePoint provided by Mytech Partners, you may find it’s not so different after all!
    During this session, learn about the differences and similarities between SharePoint and legacy storage solutions. We'll also explore how automation or external apps (QuickBooks, etc.) can be affected, and how to ensure a smooth transition for your team, by comparing SharePoint’s document libraries with traditional mapped drives, plus its meta data, tags, filtering, and sorting features.

    The purpose of the communication site is mainly to present information to members rather than collaborating on the documents. It's more like a webpage than a collaboration site.
    I would recommend going with teams site over communication site.

    Thanks for your videos, although it would have been nice to have them in 1080p. Kind of pointless showing your browser on screen if its all blurry. sorry if it sounds like a moan, but without visual clarity, it may as well be an audio file.

    Great video... how can I use SPMT to create a OneNote notebook from the exported folder content, which I have the OneToc and One files? Any help would be appreciated. I've tried and they only move the individual files and don't repackage.

    I have a 2.87 GB size folder that would go well in Teams permssions structure. Would you recommend putting in Teams or setting up a Non-Teams Sharepoint site and add as cloud storage in the Teams channel?

    Calendar integration from Outlook to Teams...could be migrated directly from a classic download and revamp in a modern view to work and appear in SharePoint once the calendar is approved

    You mentioned SharePoint was not good place to store databases like Quickbooks, why? Does this also apply to MS Access db's?

    • @CurtisM-vu7zb

      MS Access has DB issues with being stored on sharepoint and having more than a single user access it. It's also not supported by MS.

    What if you have say 10 TB of data? Best not to copy over to one doc library and one site collection right? Disaster if permissions are preserved I would think

      Great question - it is a good idea to review all of your data to determine what should be pulled over and what should maybe be archived. SharePoint allows you to categorize your data so differently. If you would like to discuss further, please reach out www.mytech.com

      @@MytechPartners Thank you. I think I have figured it out and do it in phases and ask the dataowners which is theirs and then we create their own teams or SharePoint site and move it to their own doc library...if i do it as is, I suspect it will be disastrous due to permission and junk "hell"

      Just wanted to add that I have doing my testing and yes, the latter idea I have is far better and much more manageable and makes owners accountable for cleaning up (hopefully) their data before the move. I also tell them and they must understand the SharePoint limits so to manage expectations

    Is it possible to change a “Teams Sharepoint site” to a “non-Teams site”?

    • @abdousarr6749
      @abdousarr6749 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes it is possible by creating a duplicate from classic setting..I think it is reversible if you are the owner

      Thanks for calling this info out. Many of our sessions are targeted more towards what we call Power Users.... not necessarily IT Admins. We will try to be more upfront about that on future sessions.
